ADHDers are believed to not have enough dopamine and norepinephrine. Not enough dopamine causes depression.
I was diagnosed with ADHD-combined type spring of 2022. I had planned to take 2 years of school, barely completed the first year, Pathway.
I think I'm in a burnout, overwhelmed and fatigued.
BTW - many men and women get diagnosed often at times of hormone changes. Sudden increase in severity, can't dismiss it anymore.
The person who diagnosed me with both ADHD and autism last year, said the hyper part of ADHD can show as talkative or fidgety.
I take medicine for it. It doesn't help me focus, but it does help me to choose not to think about something negative. I couldn't feel any hope, only worry or depression, before I was properly diagnosed.
Your description of the brain, my son had quite a few medical tests when he was in grade school. He was diagnosed with focal cortical dysplasia of Taylor, what seems to be now considered visual difference of a neurodivergent brain. It was explained to me that his brain made cells, the cells made clusters, but the clusters didn't make connections. It affects social skills and behavior. This was 20 years ago. Does that sound like what you were trying to describe? Right frontal lobe, I believe it is.

Wow this sounds right. I think mine has worsen since my cancer and I was thrown into menopause. So hormones could have increased it. Thanks for all your info.

@@JoyousGenealogist You're welcome. I had no idea how much diagnosis has increased in adults. I found RUclips videos helpful. The ones you can relate to, they help you know you're not alone. People talk in the comments and they have communities you can join, their main income, I think.

This is the first video I came across that really helped me understand ADHD, what attention and focus really mean. I really related to her declining ability to succeed in school, too.
Jessica has a RUclips channel for ideas of how to live with ADHD, and support. This is her TEDx talk: ruclips.net/video/JiwZQNYlGQI/видео.html
