"HAMs get stuff done..." Well said and 73s. ✌👍
You're HAM right!

"1st contact France!" says it all about that antenna and your station out in the middle of nowhere. Great job ;o) 73 K5MGK
Thanks!
Steve the Poseidon is an amazing antenna, I consistently get reports back that are very strong to the other station!
10w to FRANCE!
One might call that a Poseidon adventure
If so, he's getting that turn your stomach feeling! 😂
That comment gives me a sinking feeling.
Poseidon FTW! Awesome operator skills man
Thanks Bro!
I really like how inventive you were in putting up the mast and antenna. We always like the first contact being DX. Thanks for the videos. 73.
Glad you liked it!
Steve, wanted to mention on one of your earlier videos about the Shangra-La Range bag as a bag for the IC-705 that the radio in the Windcamp ARK-705 cage will fit into a Plano 1312 plastic ammo box, which fits into the center compartment of the large range bag, giving it extra protection.
Sweet! Thanks for the tip!
Mast through an open window is one I haven't seen before
Don't think I'll be trying that one, but seeing it did give me the spark I needed for a few other ideas
Right!
Awesome the Poseidon did it’s job!! Awesome POTA activation!! Enjoyed!! 73
Thank you very much!
Great POTA ! Love the set up. HAMs get stuff done ! we got a G3 solar storm today . some poor band conditions . My see northern lights in NY again. but clouds and rain moving in. got to 92F and very MUGGY today. 73
Stay Cool
"Some peoples kids"! Ha! A friend and I have been saying that for years and never heard anyone else say it.
A friend introduced me to it and it instantly made sense. Been saying it ever since
Indeed he went temporarily offline. Darn 705.
It happens to the best of us
All the way to France, You could do a pota dance, great work, beautiful day their, tnx Man!
North Dakota POTA dance to France! I dig it.
Nice vid Steve, I need to get a pole.
Coffee and Ham Radios is thinking about selling them. Until then: SpiderBeams!
@@temporarilyoffline it's hard being a ham on socal security. They should have a special $$ fund for us. 😂
Yup, I know the RFI problem well. Do you think it's the 705's proximity to the antenna in this case?
It could be! I've never had a problem when the antenna was further away.
Tons of contacts T.O. Maybe I'll pickup a Poseidon when I get lots of 💰. 😂👍
Sounds like a plan!
Your a brave man Steve...out in the middle of nothing in a Tesla. Hope you got to a charge ok!
I did a video on my RV channel about it: @livingforalivingrv take a look! 🤠🤠
Usually not that big a deal taking a road trip in a Tesla, particularly along the interstates.
Brave was when he got away from the interstate as an EV newb with a standard range version.
Always have fun when I activate a ND location!! So many Hunters happy to snag ND!! Thanks for sharing.

Hey Dan! I figured ND and SD would be popular and I was not disappointed
Hey Steve! Awesome as usual! Great job! 73 de WA3RSL
Thanks Frank!
QRP for the win.
Always!
Looks like a nice place to do Pota. KO4HPC 73
Peaceful for sure!
...did you get France, on 10W and a wire....from North Dakota...as your FIRST CALL?
Envy. Serious envy.
Yes I did. I think it was the rare ND multiplier
What drive on did you use or did you secure the mast in some other way?
I just sat it in the back seat through the window. I want a drive on, but didn't have it in time for this trip.
@@temporarilyoffline now why haven’t I thought of that!
But Steve I got you on a 59 20+ in South Africa. 😂😂🤣
Thanks for the contact, 73! 😀
And that lock-up was without a USB cable plugged into the 705, right?
Correct. More research is needed. I almost left it out of the video, but I'm secretly hoping someone says "oh yeah, me too blah blah blah"
@@temporarilyoffline I think that we need to look to ICom for this. Maybe the next time you have the rep on CAHR you could plus one the fact that this does happen. I don't have one, so I can't help explore this, but it feels like RF is getting into the MCU stuff, so possibly better RF power VCC bypassing on the digital stuff, or maybe the PCB layout has some digital ground traces carrying RF current, or maybe even it needs better internal shielding.
You've seen other people have this problem, right? It's not just on your rig (missing or cold soldered bypass capacitor)?
@@KeepEvery1Guessing yeah, a lot of people have this problem and I've done 2 videos on how to solve it... This one is a bit different than the setup I had in my fix vid. The radio has a well known RFI problem. I had the gear to implementy fix with me, but I was being lazy in the vid since I was close to finishing up the activation.
Which states are left for TOADS activation?
I pinged you with the photo on discord!
What freq were you on? Was that 14.205? 20m had been murder for me.
I don't remember
Any cell phone service there?
Actually yes.
I want to see contacts on barbed wire
It's been done. Next time I see some I'll try it out.
0:50 Somewhere in a document somewhere, the law or regulation that led to that sign has some specific person's name associated with it, and I don't mean the author.
Exactly!
Stay there long enough, and someone's going to buzz you in a prop plane.
I was legit worried about that!
Welcome to North Dakota! de K0RQ
Thanks Jake!
