I can recall as a little boy my parent getting into a heated verbal exchange. My mom became so frustrated trying to get her point across to my dad in a way he might understand that she started to sing this song at the top of her lunges until she couldn't finish it. Can't remember if mom's tactics worked but at least now, after nearly 50 years, I see and understand how these words go.
