  • The Bards (Brantford Ontario, Canada) doing the Barbarians "Hey Little Bird" they were well known around the pizza chief, and gregg's poolhouse around the summers of 91-92. The Bards played alot around Brantford and Hamilton in those days, showing up at scooter rallys with long hair on gregg's motorcycle, blasting "tinkerbells fairydust" that sort of thing. they played a mix of folked-up garage-punk and british beat, mostly covers of Beatles, Byrds, Hollies, Yardbirds, Squires, Them, Left Banke and later some "country-rock" etc. The Bards ended up playing the WHAT WAVE magazine benefit in London, with the Chessmen. Andre played with the Chessmen after that, and then The Murkybeats, releasing a singer-songwriter style solo cd. Gaven went on to play in The Swingin' Gurus and Thee Gnostics.
recorded by Michael White of the Chessmen in Greggs poolhouse 1991.
