I'm from the United States, and, yeah, you really, really don't want to know what is going on in food processing plants in the United States, let alone how stuff is grown / raised. It is surprising to me that anyone from Asia accepts products such as meat from the US. Especially post-pandemic, I can tell that basically that workers are just shoving stuff that fell on the floor or whatever into packaged products.
It also depends which company. A big story for us was recently there was a video from China where a Tsingtao Beer worker was peeing in it. So then here in Korea the beer sales from said company completely dropped. People be like, I don't trust that! Sourcing matters quite a bit here, same goes for water. We trust some brands way over others.
Oil in USD, transportation costs… Debt in at least developing countries is (denominated) paid back in USD. US is a large exporter of energy (eg natural gas), food and tech. We could see a big correction, great opportunity to buy or add to US tech holdings.
Just bought 10 pounds of ground beef yesterday Chris thanks for telling me it's rotten 😅 just kidding I know the meat around here ain't the best but it's all we got.
If you go Whole Foods or shop organic you can get better stuff but the costs are a lot higher for sure. Some cities in USA don’t even have those choices bc there isn’t a market for it.
UK: UKIP party has been riding a long time with anti-immigration messages and Brexit. Its leader, Farrage, is very close to Trump, just like Orban. UKIP lost really big-time parliementary elections earlier this year, so their voters are now steaming out their frustration. Unfortunately, by illegal means. Coincidentially, I am happy to report that I had the opportunity to help two immigrant families today. Another approached me. I approached the other family as they also seemed to be a bit lost. I hope that those 5 minutes of my time gave them a better day to remember.
