Awesome video brother as always. Been awhile since I've had the opportunity to watch your content Giles but as always you deliver. It's nice to see you still in the game and showing others your passion and leadership for flight. Hope you and your family are doing great and have a wonderful rest of your week. ✌️
Good to see you in the comments again. Yes I've had to reduce the frequency of making videos, it was starting to take over and I needed a breather. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Ah, gizmos, gotta love them 😀 Worth it just for an independent altimeter for avoiding unintentional airspace infringements! Looks like a very smart bit of kit 😁
Great vid Giles 👍🏻 I flew over D.M. mid afternoon on the 11th Nov, making the most of the break in the low cloud we've all suffered for weeks now. I didn't see/hear anyone about which was a shame as the flying conditions were the best I've ever experienced. Madness... all that cloud and a superb flying day suddenly appears from nowhere! Good to see you back in the air again 👍🏻
Hi Kev, I'm glad you made the most of the break in the weather. I'm currently enjoying 30degrees, scattered cloud and light winds, but no flying as I'm on holiday. I'll be back in December. 😁
Nice gadget, Giles. Small enough to fit the lighter end of the aircraft world yet big enough to see clearly, and the cost is far lower than I was expecting. Thanks for uploading - always good to see a video from GF22. Hope you've had fun in the US, see you soon.
Hi Dan, yes all good over the pond. Yes they seem good value for money which is why I opted for them. The current usage makes them an option for lipo packs and machines without batteries.
I do like MGL instruments, they are light and I found them easy to navigate in the menus. I have the engine managment one in the Kub (52mm and the larger one in my Youngster.
Hi Algy, they are very light and I agree with your statement about the easy to use menus. I went for the larger display as it's a bit further away than a normal dash. Looking forward to more updates on the Youngster.
Hi Ged, glad you enjoyed it. Yes the NiNE is a fast machine but not the same fun factor as the Adam you have. Yes still over in America but I'm back in December.
People who have never flown a Hang glider or Delta wing Trike do not understand that there is no need for an air speed indicator . Like you said , everything is felt which is why I like flying them to begin with . With that being said I fly with two lol , but not because I need them.
Haha, nicely put Ryan. It actually messed up my approach and landing as I was trying to gauge speeds. This took my eyes away from the landing picture so it wasn't my best. Keep safe out there and I need to catch up with your latest few videos.
WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING 🤣 Good to see you up👍 I did not get flying this season, just got workkng to late on my rebuild and didn't put enough late nights in to get it ready. All put away for winter. Maybe next year😞
I’ve always used an asi, it’s there in the background and when used with a gps ( ground speed ) it’s a great wind speed indicator without having to think. Let’s face it I need all the help I can get 🥴
Hi Dean, apart from knowing the HOT, I actually found the ASI awkward on landing as it distracted me from my normal visual approach picture. I'm sure you don't need any help 😜.
Hi Nigel, the thing with Sub70 machines is they are very simple and the engines have been around for a long time, so there are loads of videos on the engine maintenance side of things. I will however, see if I can put one together.
Hi Giles. How is the mgl power consumption for that aircraft? Hopefully you still have more charging than consumption. On my QuikR, I use an MGL xtreme efis, and am about install a fuel flow sensor to connect to it. See how that goes. Cheerio.
Hi Giles. It's been a while. Thank you for the awesome video. I've got a question for you regarding instruments. What's more accurate - GPS altitude or barometric altitude? My airfield elevation is listed on the sectional as 1784 feet. I set my vario/altimeter for that before taking off. The GPS on my phone (AVARE) says I'm about 1670 feet. There's about a 100 foot difference. Do you know what's going on?
Good sto see you again in the comments. GPS will always be less accurate as it's having to do a very accurate timing signal triangulation with moving satellites. Barometric will always be more accurate.

Hi Mike, I'm genuinely impressed with the gauges and the cost makes them quite a non-luxury item if you wanted to replace older steam gauges.
You don’t NEED an ASI but there’s no problem with wanting one. 😎😎. Nice vid Giles.
Hi David, I knew you'd pipe up.. haha. Completely 💯👍🏻

Interesting to hear your views
Hi Tim, I'm glad you found it helpful.

@GolfFoxtrot22 Worth knowing. Definitely something to think about for my future adventures... 🤔
I love your content bro such good discussion and i love the local knowledge thanks for taking me along
Glad you enjoyed it.
But you said!!! 🤣😂
Comment just cause you know your audience and for the algo.
Great to see you out flying for fun! ♥
Haha, yes I know 😂. It's been ages since I flew for a video.
YOU SAID!! ...😂 🤣 great video Giles, I do like a gadget
Haha, I know you do. The ASI threw me off on landing, I've stopped looking at it.

Great video Giles. Hope all is well with you
Hi Lee, all is well. Hi glad you enjoyed the video, I just need to fly a bit more.
@ yes same here Giles I’ve been so very busy with my work but next year I must make time to fly whenever the weather is suitable.
@leehewitt9559 I think that's the bit people forget. To take every opportunity to fly.
Hi Giles, as per usual great video and content, what a speed machine the 9 is, fantastic. Hope you are well, see you soon I hope.
Hi Ged, glad you enjoyed it. Yes the NiNE is a fast machine but not the same fun factor as the Adam you have. Yes still over in America but I'm back in December.
@ I will come over to see you at DM when I get back from Spain. I want to take part in the pb excursions next year.
@gedstokes4832 too right.
@ are you on holiday or business ??
MGL do make a nice instrument. Very happy with my Vega version of your Blaze (my eyes can still just about cope 😂)
Glad you like the Vega. Having flown with the Vega, I definitely opted for the larger display especially as I had the space.
@ trouble with mine is I now have to think of something to go in the 57mm space on the right 🤣

Oh nooooo. Fingers crossed for next year.
I always like to have the shadow on the underside of my wing 🙂
Hello Michael, it's just so special to see it as you are turning. But it doesn't mean the sun is usually setting.
Slippery slope you've started there. Be videos on PA-28's, Autopilot and IFR next! 🤣
Haha, I used to fly steam gauges on C152s, I'm happy with this set up. Between the Flyhenry and the MGL, it's a perfect setup.
Full airways equipped now Giles :-) That landing looked very fast is 55-60mph the normal touch down speed for the Nine? Great video as always.
Yes, 60 on approach, it's the same as the hands off trim. As I start the round out it immediately drops to 50/55, then settles for the landing.
Good Morning Giles. When I saw the still post I figured you got it for the Altimeter and VSI. I really wish I could find a used MGL E2 for my VW bus.
And good morning to you Tom. I'm on US time atm😁.
@@GolfFoxtrot22Are you in the US? If so, which time zone?
@tomcoryell Florida
@@GolfFoxtrot22Will you be flying a RevX?😊
@tomcoryell no just holiday at Disney
A Rigger doing a Fairy job. Does look good
Hi Simon, I was just worried about letting the pink smoke out. Yes fitted and set up so easily, looks good as you said.
@GolfFoxtrot22 lol. Theirs wasn't a difficult job. Change a box and chat to ATC. Nice to see you flying on such a great day.
@SimonAmazingClarke it was a while back.
Wow, that's at least twice the approach speed of the Adam.
I come in at about 50 on the Adam, makes landings a lot easier.
@GolfFoxtrot22 kts or mph?
@edwalker2790 mph, pull that bar in.😉

I forgot to mention, we have a nine here in Australia and only a sort distance from me. Can’t wait to see it.
So I've heard. You'll be impressed, it looks fast just sitting on the ground.
Hi Giles it Nigel just like to say id like to see vids on regular maintance you have to do on your sub 70s .see you very soon

Hi Stewart, I've no issues as the small wattage from the engine seems to cope with everything running and charges the battery with no issues.

I would like to see the rigging and derigging please
I have this in the list so stay tuned. It does rig and de-rig very easily.
It’s not all about size!
Hi Ian, I know what you mean, I just had the option for the larger one at only £5 more, it was a bargain.😁
That little thing is fast wouldnt get past 55kt on my wizard 3 airborne redback
Was the Wizard 3 quite a draggy aircraft?
