- In this week's episode of Under10Hours, we take a look at the first entry of the Tony Hawk series on the Xbox 360. I have played this entry more than any other entry in the series, and yet I still don't like it that much compared to other games in the long-storied franchise.

This was my favorite Tony Hawk game. Played it a lot on the PS2
i remember discovering a bunch of out of bounds places in this game ! it was very fun hahahah
one time i glitch throught the start of the story mode and went doing mission without knowing the basic tricks the game teach you at the start !
i don't believe you can go very far, but it was fun !
This game was full of cool stuff like that, especially online! It was one of my favorite games to explore and find the places we weren't supposed to see.
This is the one I played the most. Even with its issues I love it
I played this game on multiple consoles, multiple times. PC, PS2, Xbox, 360.
I still listen to its soundtrack to this day; Sniper Picnic is one of my favourites.
I've also played this one the most! I actually streamed an entire playthrough last year and then made the video this year. I'll probably end up playing it again sooner than I think.
I've been listening to the sountrack a lot since I made this video! It introduced me to Dead Kennedys and plenty of other great music.
@@Under10Hours this is the game that introduced me to death from above 1979. I had no idea who they were, didn't hear em for years after I stopped playing this, randomly started listening to em again yrs ago, now they're my favorite band lol

You forgot to mention Classic mode, although I can understand why.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is the best game in the franchise by far. This is where the series had its first peak; Tony Hawk Underground was the second. By THAW, the series had pretty much plateaued.

Thug 2 is still a good game but the story disappointed me

I still have the absolutely busted PC port of this one in my game collection. Even on my current mid-high range PC, it still freezes for a couple of seconds when you're swapping areas. It was even worse on my first PC where, despite it exceeding the recommended requirements and running THUG 2's PC port without a problem, I would still be having to wait up to half a minute for the game to swap areas (plus it would randomly slow down in certain areas of the Downtown level, making some of the missions there borderline impossible to do). It really exposed the lie that is its open world.
You should definitely check out Thug pro on PC if you still wanna play Tony hawk online. But otherwise great video as usual but you should definitely look at project 8 and proving ground at some point. Also happy holidays!
Happy holidays to you as well! I'm dying to check out THUG Pro. It seems amazing! I definitely need to circle back to Project 8 and Proving Ground since I only played P8 on PSP and I only played Proving Ground once when it came out.
@@Under10HoursI'm a lil late but Definitely check out the PS3 gen version of P8 and Proving Grounds. So much better than the PS2 versions with added mechanics, new areas to the open world and better animations. I feel like those last 2 games get a lot of hate because people didn't experience their best versions. Proving grounds on ps3 might make my top 3 THPS games.

I'm sure this sounds dumb, but since he wasn't in the video...Tony Hawk is in the game, right? Lol
Haha it's not dumb. He is and he isn't in the story mode, Tony has a SiriusXM radio show where he describes the things you do to his listeners. At the end of the game when you are trying to save the skate park, you find him shopping on Rodeo Drive and recruit him to make a skating video to raise the money to save the park. In classic mode, which is an extra mode that lets you do challenges similar to the original Pro Skater games, you can play as him or any of the pro skaters that appear in the game.

This was my favourite game in the series until Pro Skater 1 + 2 came out, I have played THAW on PS2, Gamecube, Xbox and Xbox 360

Definitely my all time favorite. Rethawed is probably the best version of it today with working servers and new things actively being added

Everyone I’ve talked to has played this game a lot and many of us don’t know why
In spite of it's problems I think this will always be my favorite Tony Hawk game. It was the first one I played and I love the story's general vibe and characters. I will admit that it annoys me how compared to previous games the world isn't designed as much like a skate park so it can be a bit more of a pain to skate in. And once you complete the ranch it really isn't all that good either. But regardless, I still love this game.
Love this game, looked for it on my Xbox x and didn’t see it in the store, this game, mx unleashed, Medal of Honor, fucking classics
The physics are also slightly tweaked since they they're not gonna use the same old engine on the 360. I'm sure it's a slight adjustment to play this game then go to THUGPro with the older engine on these levels.
they definitely used the same engine they didnt change out of renderware until the next game
all they really did according to andythps a dev from neversoft that made east la, all they really did was improve online, fix some bugs, and hired tons of interns to upscale almost all the textures
@@chaaseisstupid2036 well the walking is definitely changed as you don't jump as high normally due to the parkour additions. So traversal is a little more awkward and takes some time getting used to.
@@thelunaist2014 they did tweak physics but this is still that classic renderware that powered gta 3 through san andreas
