Pharm.D VS MBBS | Case study of Pharm.D in India & America - Sharma Pharma

- Pharm.D is started in India in 2008. When Pharm.D starts in India there is no rule to use Dr. as a prefix to the name of the student. But after the rule came, several communities are started comparing Pharm.D with MBBS. In this video, we will clarify this doubt of many students who believe that Pharm.D = MBBS.
Pharm.D is of 6 years and MBBS is of 5.5 years. Both are different in terms of training but have some similar subjects like Pharmacology, Anatomy, Pathophysiology, and Biochemistry. Pharmacy is a paramedical field that is more related to drugs and medicines.
Let's see the difference between the two countries, India and America in terms of education. In America, Pharm.D graduates are somewhat equivalent to MBBS doctors in terms of salary and respect. In India, Pharm.D is still an emerging field and is growing in terms of salary and scope. India should focus on Research & Development. Salary of Pharm.D graduates can be improved in India.

If you are interested in clinical or hospital, go for Pharm.D and if you are interested in manufacturing and research than go for M.Pharm

Basically Pharm.D admission is done on the basis of marks obtained in graduation. Some institutes may consider your GPAT marks!
