This is brilliant. Thank you so much. I've been watching videos showing how to use a 555 to flash an LED but this is first one that really explains how the timing relates to the capacitor/resistor. The animation is superbly clear. Bravo.
Thank you for keeping it simple & explaining every step. One of the best tutorials I've seen that doesn't speed throughout it with your hands getting in the way, great rotating video showing the component placement, and showing the exact breadboard setup while explaining the circuit operation 👍
This is probably the most 'to the point' explanation I've seen on 555 . Rather than just calculating values (like I've been doing) , I actually 'get it' now :) Thank you. Subscribed and liked. Can't wait to see other videos.
You've got very interesting, practical, working circuits and a great approach in teaching them -- to the point with great quality. It's a shame that you have not done more! I miss your quality videos! Thank you for all that you have already produced and shared!
You always help me out. I have been trying to follow other youtubers but seem to get lost it all the talking and stuff. You sound like a school teacher. I love your work. Thank you very much. Just hit the bell icon
This is great,I just came across your channel while looking for something like this for my 3d printed tank, It works and now I"m going to try and make your machine gun sound circuit and try and put them together, the lights will go in front of gun barrel and i will try and match it up with the machine gun sound and make the lights look like a bullet gun powder flash
Broo plzz tell about more electronic like how to soldering, de soldering where is resistor used, resistor colour code, capacitor, and more about electronic and communication student and give tip for how to learn electronic and communication.... Lot of love from kerala ♥
Helpful video ,selected this topic for the microproject and understand the concept properly it seems complex and hard if you don't know the working of the IC NE555
Hello, Nice video. I tried the circuit and My LED turns when I put the power, then it turns off and stays off. I have prewired LED with a resistor and the resitor is on the + side of the LED. Please advice.
I am having a problem..if I go to connect 3 red and 3 blue like you did with 1 red and 1 blue the led's burn up when I give the power (5volt) to it.I need a solution please
In your dual alternating led flasher circuit diagram that links to here (elonics.org/adjustable-led-flasher-using-555-timer), LED 2 is backwards. the part merely needs to be reversed, or else it won't light.
So cool!! Does this method decrease the over all current power consumption considerably (versus having the LED light stay on)? Or does it (the capacitors and resistors) use the same or similar amount of power overall? I’m researching ways to make an LED circuit that blinks once every 30 seconds to spike the current to about .050 mA, that uses as little current draw as possible when the light is off. Thank you for explaining how your circuit works, too. I really appreciate the animated schematic!
Sir... it's very helpful good work You said that in this improvement is possible using transistor can you give tutorial on that how you can use transistor with 555timer in flashing circuit.
I tried this circuit and it works great.. but I want to blink my LEDs periodically.. it glows alternately but it pauses and then again starts blinking.. what should I do?
I cannot figure out the potentiometer. Everything works great, disconnect resistor, add pot and both lights just stay on and dim when pot is turned. I've tried every variation, pot size matter or what? Thanks for the awesome tutorial though! This was fun. Edit: Finally!! It needed a 500k, other ones were technically flashing, just so fast due to lower pot value you couldn't tell.
Hi. Does anyone know how I can use this circuit with different voltage components, like a 16V capacitor? Do I have to change the resistance on that last resistor? Is there anything else I have to do? Also what value of the LED series resistor do I use for white light? Thanks. P.S. If any of these questions seem stupid, I've just started this stuff.
Subscriber here. Love this! If I wanted to use this circuit to power two 5 volt vibrating motors, how would I adjust it? I would need to change out the capicitor and resistors? Advise appreciated. I want to have this circuit turn on one vibrator, then turn it off as it turns on the other one - just like you are doing with the LED lights. Thanks!
Hi, I have tried this circuit multiple times but instead of getting a blinking light, I only get a solid one. I have tried changing the resistors and the capacitors and nothing seems to be working. Is there an issue with my 555 timer?
@@elonics you remember when you made the pir sensor? It was so clear... So easy to understand. Explaining it was just a resistor in a way. Really was the easiest I ever learned something.

It's 3 days, i've had read the blog and ok with yellow led it wasent flashing but now with the video it is much easier !! 🎉🎉
this is by far the best explanation of how 555 works. thank you!

Nice project 👍 I like it
Good job bro..!
Well done.
Good job, well explained, well animated.. You have skills my friend.
Why leg number 2 and 6 need to be connected? The same question for 8 and 4. And why leg number 5 isnt connected to anywhere?
What makes the led blink. Mine is staying lit

Can I use this circuit for led trips
I have done one like yours but first led stays on much longer than second one which gives only short flash. Any idea whats wrong?
I want to do this project first i want to know what is the use of this project plx explain
Nice explanation buddy
Great work bro👏👏
La possibile with this system have different times in on an and off state? Example 10 sec off and 1 sec on.
Very well explained,
this video help me to make my semester project

What happens when we use a ceramic capacitor ?
Excellent presentation

Yes you are right bro..👍
How can this be made to "flicker" in a random flashing, and with a brighted led?
Please explain how to connect a higher load like led strip
How does the capacitor get recharged in this circuit?
How do you make automatically varying flashes like on some police lights so that the LED's switch from medium to fast flashing and then back again?
Hi.. Is that formula ( 6:11 ) for cycle time or duty cycle time?.. Thank you..
Could you use this and make a relay just click randomly instead of a led
can it be used for car horn?

Very good video
But if I need add to 5 parrel smd so what changes in the circuit
No changes required. Make sure that you use the right series resistor for the LED's

Can I use 741 ic replace the 555ic
No, that'll be an entirely different circuit

Awesome sir , how do you make animation in this demo ? What softwares do you use sir
Adobe After Effects & Premiere Pro
d a 555 delay ON . but just keep making mistakes. i just need a 3 secon delay befor it comes on ................................
