Exactly! Gio is the only midfielder that actually connects with the striker. Charlie said neither Adams, Musah, or McKennie don’t connect with them in the midfield, but forgets to mention that Gio is the only guy on the team that can do that.
The only reason, I believe they are reluctant is because he has only been there 1 year. But he has made great impact. He is well suited for the Italian style of defense and counterattack. which I think USMNT should follow. Of course, it goes without saying the Italians have won the world cup 4 times. The thing I worry about is whether they are wearing him out. He attacks and goes back in defense.

Been following coles move for like 3 years now when he went over there and bc he’s a dual Nat and we had weah and Christian and gio etc etc no one had been talking about him until literally right now. Like not a peep, trust me the bundesliga has been singing his praises and he’s been on the radar. Hes gonna be on the RW for us come 2026 bc of those numbers jimmy said. Weah has pace and 5 GA in like 40 games. That’s not reliable winger stats when you want to be a great front line. It’s ok if some of the veteran greats of bethalters tenure aren’t first choice come 2026. They did amazing things for us. But let’s keep resetting the bar for excellence and potential excellence.

Busio / Morris is not going to start in Jamaica in a game that matters. Not if Adams, McKennie and Johnny are available. Morris was among the worst players in Mexico with Aaronson. Too much complaining and giveaways and was mostly responsible for the free kick that led to the goal. Miles doesn't escape partial blame for that ridiculous clearance right to a Mexican player. Aaronson should not be starting either. He was dreadful. I'm glad those players got a chance but they ain't it. Busio was definitely better than those other two for the camp.
Yeah, really don't why people keep trying to push for him as captain. He's just not that guy and that's okay. I'm pretty sure in one of his past interviews a year or two back he was asked about captaincy and he said basically it's not really his persona type and just didn't seem interested in it.

I agree, Pulisic himself has said he's not a very vocal guy. The best player doesn't always make the best captain. The captain should be the one with the most passion, emotion, effort, and respect from other players, regardless of stats. I think of Puyol at Barcelona from 2004-2014 as the perfect captain. Surrounded by legends in almost every position but he was captain because he was a natural leader and his teammates knew it.

But I do believe that for the sport to really take off, we need a high quality soccer show at the same level as the other major sports in this country. A show like that can attract new fans to the sport.

I agree but I hope Poch develops depth in the bench. A starting 11 isn't the answer for every play style in the WC.
