Ahhhh, dousing rods. The one thing I, even as a believer in ghosts, was always very skeptical about when seeing them in use. That is until I held them in my very own hands for the first time. You realize you aren't controlling them, yet they are making very distinct movements over and over, AND in response to your questions. There have even been times I could feel them being pulled and tugged while they were moving. Definitely my favorite to watch people use. Funny thing is when someone else has them in their hands I can think of 100 questions to ask, but when I get them in mine, I go blank...lol.

I was absolutely sold when I realized I was having a conversation with a young man who died in prison using the dousing rods. It was amazing!

Great video, thanks! Growing up in Scotland we were taught to always use dowsing rods with wooden handles for protection when spirit communicating.

I love this project! We have always been. But I remember when I went looking that constructed histories erased us like we had never been. I didn't know how else to look so settled uneasily for the scantily implied and the documented recent. I had never heard of dowsing rods before this video and my understanding is still minimal. But the thing is (with all due respect) that I don't care what the method is because it's just so exciting that you all went looking !! Finally someone knows how to look. Thank you :)

Thanks, Emu. Dousing rods are a pretty basic tool, at least for me, and definitely one of my go to's. For me personally, it was also one of the ones to be the most skeptical about. But once you get them in your hands and the magic happens, it's hard to be a skeptic. I walked a friend of mine through using them and he was a non-believer. He's a believer now :-)

Dowsing Rods, those little metal L shaped things that the Queer Ghost Hunters hold and ask entities yes/no questions- they are so fun to shoot because they really seem to be talking to ghosts with these! But if I don't shoot it just right then audiences see video that looks less convincing than when you're there in person. I wonder what the secret to shooting it right is.

Have some techniques from a visual media master class I had taken several years ago that might work. Will be at Queer Ghost Hunters 101 coming up in two weeks. Let me know if you are open to discuss media.
