Love your channel, I’m going through all the old videos from the beginning. It’s fun to see how much your “growing” both garden and personally videos. What I would like to see are more videos like this one. There are several plants I have never heard of and would like to more information on them. Thank you. And I’m starting to “eat what I grow”. Ha ha.
Thanks Robbie, I'm going to check for seeds at a Tucson nursery I'm visiting this week. They have Everything so they should have papalo. I love your photo book seed saver idea. I checked the 99cent store and they currently do not have anything like that so I picked up a pack of photo sheet protecters for 3 ring binders and plan to put my seeds and things in there. I have lots of empty pretty 3 ring binders I can use. Thanks for the tips, I always learn something new when watching your videos.
Even though you are in SoCal I believe you are inland. You local weather is similar to mine except I am in NorCal. I certainly will take your advice of growing plants like Papalo and others in your garden. I am trying winter crops this year simply because I am tired of all the labor (including pest/disease control) and water needed during our three-digits hot summer. I also have flowers and fruit trees to pick are care of.
Hi Robbie, I had seeds a few years ago but they never sprouted and was sad that I didn’t get to enjoy this herb. I’m in So. Cal too and would love some of your seeds if you are willing to share. Thank you. Love your channel!!
I guess you don't need a lot of leaves for salsa, but since I eat it by itself, the more leaves, the merrier. I actually don't think it's that strong as people say, but maybe it's because I get it from the farmer's market, not freshly picked
Not sure where you live, but hang in there, as they really like the WARM weather, as it get warmer they will start to take off, you are doing good since you got them started, Take care 😊
Hello .. I just planted some papalo a few months ago its still a baby but its getting seed pods on it already do you have any idea why? I just transplanted it from its growing cup to a large grow bag and like I said its still a baby but getting seeds .. uuuuugggg
@@extropiantranshuman lol..I dont consider it lucky because the reason I planted papalo is because cilantro bolts..and this this is only a few months old and is bolting I at least get to harvest my cilantro for a few month this thing is not even big enough to harvest yet...ugggg.. I have plenty of seed to plant more but if they are going to bolt before I can even harvest any then why
@@Dreamzz101 I get what you mean - to me those short ones work for a hydroponic garden, but as I said - you're really lucky to get your seeds so quickly - as the other video said - all you do is plant more in the right season and it will grow taller - the same plant! These aren't different varieties, but they will act differently. Have hope - don't get too upset - even though I know gardening can be frustrating - at least I solved your issue.
I love cilantro, however, I can't take the taste or smell of papalo! It's way too strong for me! I always vomit! I really wanted to love this plant. I can handle the tough spikey culantro & the cilantro much better.
I understand, I WAS not crazy about it at first, but I must say I have gotten use to it, and now I add a few leaves into my fresh salsa, take care, Robbie
why not just eat it before the leaves develop pores? For me I concentrate on certain flavors - mainly the orange and lemon-lime parts. That might help (it helps me). I honestly like it, but maybe there's a combination that can make it less offensive to you?
@@extropiantranshuman As far as the papalo, even in it's early stages, I still get sick when I smell it as a breeze blows in the garden. I grew it for 2 years. I don't think I'll ever get use to the flavor or smell.
@@butterflyj685 sorry just one more thing - have you tried planting it next to other aromatic plants to get a perfume-like experience? Usually individual chemicals in perfumes are pretty terrible until mixed - I guess same with food where they're not great by themselves until made into a dish (actually I'm the opposite of most people and like individuality)
@@extropiantranshuman Yes I have! I could try planting it way in the back food forest away from the main intensive garden area. Also it just dawned on me that I have always eaten it raw in salads or salsa. Maybe I cook it and see if that tones down it's intense aroma and flavor a bit where I can stomach it. Now I know how my husband feels when he says he can't stand the smell and flavor of cilantro. For years, I've told him he's just got to get use to eating cilantro. Oh how I was I wrong!😁
Excellent video, I love those round leaves. Thank you!!💚🌱
You are so welcome! Check out the garden tour. That’s going up later today or tomorrow. I’ve got Pablo everywhere now thanks.
Love your video I watch them every day

Robbie check out culantro also
Tastes like cilantro
culantro looks pretty cute. I wish she did pineapple chamomile!
Time to put on a big pot of black beans, just season with salt garlic a little cummin an black pepper. An mix in 2-3 fresh leafs in each bowl of beans
Maybe if we still lived in Ramona...but NOT here in Eagle Creek Oregon...even if next to the woodstove and southern window...lol
why not use hot water and a warmer for it? and a koozie?
Thank you Robbie! May I buy some Papalo seeds from you ?
she has an affiliate link - maybe go with that?
@@extropiantranshuman Thank you so much! Just ordered the seeds.

I did a quick search from my favorite seed companies and no luck. Where did you get your seeds?
you can get them on amazon - they're not really going to be with traditional seed companies like Burpee
anyone see the recipes for papalo pesto and chimichurri and tried them out?
