in German and Dutch (and therefore in Afrikaans, too) W is pronounced like the English V. Whereas written V is sometimes pronounced like in English and in other words going towards something like F.

I think he used mang wrong. Im 48 and mang was always referred to as jail or prison. Like when someone went to mang it means they went to jail.
We also used 'mang' in videogames for when a/your character dies (1990s and up)

Alot of south african slang words are Afrikaans, I it has a Double A or double K or even jie in the word it's most likely an Afrikaans word.
And a lot of words don't actually translate to English because they are just expressions. I recommend googling some slang for the next Video😊
