- After only 2 months of ownership, I already got a recall on my 2024 Ford Maverick Lariat Hybrid! How bad is it and do recalls mean we should avoid a brand or model?

it is amazing that Toyota isn't even in the top 10 but they probably sell the most vehicles over all
I've had my Maverick a little over a week now (after a 519 day wait). Really like it a lot. Haven't heard about any recalls yet, but like you said, just a part of vehicle ownership nowadays. Good luck with your f/t RUclips gig. 😎👍
Thanks man! Glad you're liking your truck too!
😂😂😂😂
Ford just recalled Bronco sport and Maverick 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why would anyone buy a Ford!!!!!!😅😅😂😂
Wishing u all the best buddy always great videos. Thanks for all the effort please keep doing what you enjoy doing the most 🙏🏼
Thank you so much!
It might just be those issues NOT recalled may be the scariest. Ford Maverick: turn signal lamp, engine compartment fires following catastrophic engine failure, fuel tank leaks, battery/electrical issues, driveability. Check NHTSA on last and CURRENT safety issues. Don’t just accept what they admit as the whole isue
Good luck with the full time RUclips career! 👏👍 I'm looking forward to the continuing Maverick Hybrid videos,
Thanks! I’ve got 2 Maverick videos already filmed (just need to edit them) and 2 more set up and ready to start filming!
Interesting that a recall such as this crosses model years (my 22 Lariat was also recalled for this issue). Good luck with your RUclips venture, Brendan!
Thank you Dennis!
Ignore such a recall, because anything could happen during the upgrading. A guy on reddit posted a story: his Maverick could not start after the upgrading. Then he got a new job in another state and his Maverick was still dead. He could not sell the truck, obviously, and Ford won't replace his truck. Totally screwed up, only because of a very simple firmware flashing.
Congrats (I guess!) on jumping in the RUclips business with both feet and best of luck to you! My 2024 Maverick was built earlier this month and shipped this week. I suspect it will arrive at my dealer within the next 30 days -- definitely ready!
Thanks Vic!!
Nice! What good news! 🛻
You never want to have to deal with a recall and issues. Much rather have them find a problem and fix it instead of staying quiet until it explodes
I just subscribed to your channel. Have watched all the Maverick content you’ve put out, so far. I am dead set on a Lariat Maverick hybrid. So what you have is perfect for me to watch when it comes to reviews and thoughts. Thoughts on the adaptive cruise? My 2011 Explorer has it and it is outstanding. Guessing your Maverick blows mine out of the water with it being so much newer. Would love to see a video on that and some of the other tech yours has.
Wish you the best of luck with doing RUclips full time. I look forward to all your future content.
Oh and I’m 6’8. Sat in an XLT Maverick about two years ago. Beyond impressed by the room I had in it. Perfect truck for what I’d need it for.
I'm not confident I like any adaptive cruise system I've used. The 2 best were full Blue Cruise in the Mustang Mach E and the Tesla Model S Plaid I rented (but I didn't turn on FSD Beta). On average they are all very touchy, which I don't love.
@@brendandrives every one has its own quirks for sure. Have rented a brand new VW Atlas this year and it performed very poorly. We have a 23 HRV that’s mediocre. The Explorer I mentioned in my original post exceeds the VW and HRV which is shocking, being so old. I use it all the time but don’t rely on it being 100%, nor should you I feel. That being said, I don’t think it’s an option I’d want to live without. In my experience most systems I’ve used have made the drive less taxing on the body. I will certainly test it out on a Maverick before buying. Not a deal breaker on its performance but it is very important to me.
I'm still waiting for my Maverick to be scheduled. I ordered it on the first day the banks opened.
2022 model!???
Or a 2024?
Same here
Lol
Depends on allocations dealers get. Big maverick dealers get priority. Chapman Ford is good place to reach out. Below invoice deal.
I ordered July 17 '23 and mine was built two days ago. XLT hybrid
I took my 23xl in for oil service and they did the turn signal and a PCM update. It took a hour....it was all done while I was signing the paperwork for my 24 Terrain that I drove home too. Both are still flawless. 23 has 18k in 7 months, and the 24 has 1100 in 2 weeks.
Some have reported ford will come to you and do the updates. Might be something to look into for some people. Good luck with your channel.
Your time is NOT free…….so neither are the recalls🤪
Almost 20 k miles on my maverick and swear I have recalls every few months, but I just always attach to my oil changes and regular services so it’s never been a bother. Thankfully none have taken more than an extra hour or so
So far so good!
