1:35 - It's interesting how in the origami bumper, the last origami made is a pinwheel. Nickelodeon was originally known as "The Pinwheel Network" and its flagship show was called, of course, "Pinwheel".
@RCTelevision134 I never saw that on TV, but I remember seeing a video of it on here a few years ago. Luckily, I've got the original recorded onto VHS and I'll never tape over it! :)
I don't know if the SNICK ones would count. If memory serves correctly, SNICK was made a bit later and only aired in the evening. It was more so for the teens and had, like, 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?'.
About the space bumper at 1:06 and the dinosaur bumper at 1:16, why do the TVs seen at 1:12 and 1:18 have antenna on top (also called rabbit ears) when the TVs are supposed to be showing a cable station (Nickelodeon) and TVs with cable or satellite don't have antenna (also called rabbit ears)?
In the early days of cable television (1970s/1980s) several households still had TVs with OTA (over-the-air) reception, be it rabbit ears or a roof-mounted aerial. Cable wouldn't be available in all areas (especially rural areas) for at least another 20 years. Cable-ready TVs were on the market, but they were expensive as hell. If your area did get cable, you would have had to have a converter box installed. Most boxes worked on channel 3 or 4, so you would tune your OTA TV to that channel (depending on where you lived; some might have received a network broadcast on either of those channels), then turn on the converter box and flip to the channel you wanted. Over time the converter box faded into obscurity. Some areas still required them, especially for receiving some of the pay or premium channels, like HBO and Cinemax. I remember having to use one to receive those channels as recently as 2005/2006. The area I lived in at the time had cable, but when it came to receiving those premium channels, it was like living in the early to mid 1980s. And, if I remember right, Nickelodeon started off as a local network called "The Pinwheel Network", which was based in Columbus, OH.
Umm...Classic Nick was dead long before 2009. It first started falling off after the original celebrities left and completely crashed after the first Spongebob Movie and that was around 2004, so I'd have to agree that Classic Nick lived from 1979-2004. I remember after that point a lot of us completely stopped watching.
fffffudge man, even as a kid i was weirded out by all the cartoon designs. but that rush of memories of times back when i was little, not having to worry about anything, tv was the thing, and visiting my cousins and these were on, man...
@ilovelegos2000 I agree!! First, there was 90's Are All That (Teenick) Then the Cartoon Planet revival with Dexters Lab, Fosters, Powerpuff Girls, etc. (Cartoon Network) So yeah, I think Disney Channel needs something like this!!! Yet again, they should've put on Nickelodeon itself....
+mcydodge919 Morgan, did you hear about 'The Splat'? It's a new programming block that will replace The '90s Are All That and will air on TeenNick. I read in an article that it will air more variety of shows and also air old Nickelodeon commercials/ IDs! Do you get TeenNick?
I wish they didnt re branded the old bumps. They are so genuine, y mess with them? The new ones that keep repeating with stupid music just dont do it for me.
I saw this channel today and one of the bumpers was this guy playing with his nipples and then his nipples popped out and hit his eyes. And the caption was like "stop playing with yourself" I was hoping it was here cuz i needed to see it a second time because I couldn't believe that I saw that when it happened.
@NailStrafer I believe so because all of the bumpers aired at least twice, and I only missed the first one that aired during the 2am replay last Monday night. However, since it was during "The Secret World of Alex Mack," I'm willing to bet it was the "Alex Mack wears a hat" commercial.
Tell me about it. Because of that, I'm 100% sure a lot of future kids will be FORCEFULLY raises on whatever their PARENTS grew up with now that the 90s kids are lucky enough to currently be aging into the predominant childbearing range!
Hey everyone. I agree with some people about after 2004 Nickelodeon went down the tube. The 90s had all the great shows from All That, Kenan & Kel, Nick Arcade,Rugrats, Ahhh Real Monsters and etc. Now a days they have crappy shows that are just corny.
The couch turned orange and there is huge mess of popcorn all over the couch popcorn is all over the place after that kid touches that corn on the cob and grabs it out of the plate and the corn on the cob turns into a pile of popcorn on that corn on the cob.

R.I.P. Awesome bumpers
You are awesome! Thank you for the nostalgia!! :)
The creepiest one is the conductor-he's freakin SCARY! But besides that I LOVE all of them!
1:35 - It's interesting how in the origami bumper, the last origami made is a pinwheel. Nickelodeon was originally known as "The Pinwheel Network" and its flagship show was called, of course, "Pinwheel".
Coincidence? I think NOT!
Snick is my favorite bumpers of 90s nick
Man we should contact nick and tell them play a week of the 90s shows to early 000

I don't know if the SNICK ones would count. If memory serves correctly, SNICK was made a bit later and only aired in the evening. It was more so for the teens and had, like, 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?'.
The opera is my favorite bumper and the dinosaur.. if only there were a time machine. thanks for posting :)
Just wait till Nick JR gets the same treatment. (Well, One day though.)
I thought the one at 2:10 is kinda weird cause its like a too second thing

Tv was awesome.
@RCTelevision134 I wondered about that myself. The worst part is when they changed the music, they also removed the lightning sounds!

Nostalgia at its best. Like if you miss the 90's!

I do, and I wish they would have shown it too!
I haven't watched Nick in ages! I heard its super PC(far left) as well as having an obsession with twerking now ...go figure -__-.
I wish they didnt re branded the old bumps. They are so genuine, y mess with them? The new ones that keep repeating with stupid music just dont do it for me.

+Tyman291486 Heck, even spongebob went bad after the movie until season 9 and above. But there were some diamonds in the rough at the time.
