This song has been one of my favorite love songs. I bought the album when it came out around 1970. I’m giving away my age!! I fell in love with this song and went out and bought a used upright so I can teach myself how to play it. You are a much better teacher! And you sing it beautifully as well.

Great tutorial!! I’m an intermediate piano player but I don’t read music so tutorials like this one are great for me. You don’t go so slow/beginner that I get impatient, but also not too fast. Just showing the chords and inversions and bass notes along w singing the melody is awesome!!

Nicely done. Learned this one by ear by just dropping the record needle over and over as when this song was released we didn’t have online tutorials like this. Luckily I had been playing piano for about seven years and had perfect pitch but your tutorial was valuable to make some minor adjustments to achieve exact accompaniment. Love your teaching approach as you are thorough and patient to demonstrate how to play this beautiful song flawlessly. Appreciate you!

I have been playing 45 years THEN half my right handbecame parylized and you have made this very easy to follow. Thank you. Before the right hand issue, I was able to to play "glad" by Stevie windwood , then I gave up went back to guitar abd bass. You have helped this old guy. Thanks.

Thank you very much for effort to teach this. I love the way you do it. It would help me to see or highlight which keys are getting played, vs finger position from top down, can't see which keys pressed. Highlight may require overlay, angel, just angle of camera. Much thanks.
I’m afraid I won’t be adding lights to my keys. This is a completely free tutorial, and this would take even more time and money to edit. Piano keys don’t light up. I feel it’s very clear what I play, explain, demonstrate and notate.

Great tutorial again. I can play this, but your version adds some extra things for me to build into my own performance. That Dmaj + section in the chorus, as you say, he plays differently every time. I've tried to copy it, but can't. It's amazing what he can do - that natural instinct for it that makes for pure genius! I watched the full 'Get Back' film a short while ago, and the sections where he's just messing around on the piano... they're just dazzling. Untrained, can't read music - but it's all there!

Loved your video and your voice!! Super clear. Didn't realize that the song had TWO guitar solos. I appreciated, too, how you showed the fingering on the C chromatic scale :) As for the key of the song, I understand why you say it is in the key of D--I mean the chorus is totally D and the intro as well, but that verse, with the Bflat, the Aflat and the Eflat, that takes it out of D for a while!!

Very good tutorial! I've tried to learn this song elsewhere and some of the chords were more difficult to play. Your chords, inversions etc. make more sense and are more intuitive to play in the progression. I hope you'll do more 60's-70's-80's pop tutorials. Thanks!

Fantastic tutorial. Out of curiosity, how do you recall which inversion of the chords to use? I add a mini 1 or 2, like a square root symbol, above the chords.
