Whenever I see Bronson playing the role of a timid and scared individual I can tell he’s acting because I don’t think he was afraid of anything except the coal mines. Thank you for this movie.

Yes, totally agree! But who is the singer??? Searched everywhere but can't find her name in the credits. Or anywhere else. It's one of the best renditions of You'll Never Know that I have heard --- the list of artists who have covered it reads like a Who's Who in the recording business. But who is this singer???

If those two are professionnal killers, I do the job myself !
The film could have been called "Merry Christmas", the "noir" irony would have been more blatant.
The screenplay is good, the direction mediocre, but the main quality of the film resides in Charles Bronson. His raw beauty is particularly moving in this tender, sensitive role, far from the characters of scoundrels, gangsters, avengers without qualms that he has played so much.
To review especially for him and for the building of Capitole Records... that we see twice in the scenery
    Many thanks for sharing.

What they do have in common is...Charles Bronson. This movie is full of good "action", but, unlike most of other CB's movies, there is much left to be desired when it comes to how the plot is convincing. It's completely unbelievable that police did not put his home under 24 hour surveillance, to begin with...

Such beautifully believable characters - great crisp writing, of a direct-drive plot - God, I LOVE 1950s films when directors and actors related to REALITY not a cartoon tech world or fantasy crap. THIS film is "Breaking Bad" gong in reverse - the teacher arms himself against the corrupt world around him intent to restore order. It's the Bronson central character (Death Wish series) being assembled right here.

The stupid man in this film is a bad husband and horrible father. It's one thing make yourself a target for the syndicate, but when you have a wife who's with child, you can't subject them to this evil. The bad guys are liable to take the wife hostage or worse. At best, they kill the father and the poor widow is left alone with the worst situation imaginable, and the child will be destitute and fatherless. Does it escape this guy that the killing he witnessed was itself the killing of a witness? It seems to me they could make a film where every witness killed is witnessed by another witness who is killed, and on and on.
