This game deconstructs the Jedi and their “empathy”, and how Revan was the one who did everything. *He* (Revan is canonically male) beat the mandalorians, *he* saved the galaxy twice, but the Jedi lay the claim to victory at their own feet.

The Jedi masters in Kotor 2 passed judgement but refused to accept their teachings may be to blame, except for Zez-Kai Ell, who says he is no longer a Jedi at all.
Their teachings were as bad as the Siths, which is why Kreia wanted to kill them along with the Sithlords, then start over again.
In her own words when talking about your companions she says "They were the lost Jedi, the true Jedi upon which the future will be built."

"Is Revan truly dead? "What will happen if we train this one and the Dark Lord shall return?" I was then like how would my training draw Revan back from the dead? I remember when I discovered it quite well. It was morning, I was playing while my brother watched. Our computer at the time was older and we couldn't play the cinematics properly, but the part where Revan takes off the mask isn't a cinematic but is functionally a conversation. So while we didn't have the reminders, we were still shocked to discovered that we'd been playing Revan the whole time. We didn't know what to think, or if we should tell our older brother about this, as this was his game but I was playing ahead of him. Later when we were talking about how the session had gone, I mentioned an interesting development. My older brother then said "Of course. As we all know, (other brother's name) is Darth Revan." I was shocked, but apparently he'd accepted spoilers ahead of time and knew about the reveal. It became a running joke among us henceforth that our other brother was Darth Revan, and he kinda imprinted on it. Sorry for the length, but I thought it was a fun story.

Y'see, when this game came out in 03, my brother in law made an event out of it. We're talking a dozen people, pizza ordered, everyone crowded around the TV to watch him play (one Planet per night) And it was "show of hands, what option do we want?" And yes, we picked a light sided female for the first run. The whole Revan is alive thing didn't register because we'd just watch him run FFX, and Braska and Jecht got a lot of screentime for dead dudes. I also remembered this was the same crew who did Baldur's Gate. So, I'm thinking "Yeah, we're some kind of secret apprentice, Manchurian Candidate, or backup plan Revan put in place." After all, it's pre-Disney Star Wars and while there are AMAZING female characters, it's never that female character that's in charge. Revan beat Mandalore, was this amazing tactical genius, Force prodigy, etc. Has to be some big, powerful dude, right?
And it's our Leia-sized Scoundrel. Yeah, I know..."canon" is male, but I think the whole thing played better on an LS female because no one expected it. And here's everyone in the room going "No freaking WAY!" "Oh, that's CRAZY!" "Dude, this is on par with the Bespin fight!"
Of course, my other thought was "Oh, #!@$#. Is Carth gonna shoot my PC dead? And I know we can't let him, but I kinda think I want him to..."
