I still come back to this every now and again! A video and a tune that is instilled into my mind to this day. Also, you could play like that if you really set your mind to it. Anyone can with the right mindset, practice, patience and determination!!! Can’t never could do nothing until he tried :)
Wow that was GREAT! Heres a tip for people who want to solo with right hand in the key of "C"- if you play the notes c, e flat, f, g flat, g, and b flat, it will always sound good no matter what order you play those notes in.
Hey folks. Thanks a lot for your nice comments, glad you've got some enjoyment from my videos. I'll hopefully get around to making a couple more at some point, but until then I'll keep taking my lessons. ha ha. Boogie on! DB
When I listen to this stuff, I like to close my eyes and imagine I'm a guy with an awesome corporate gig, daydreaming about being an amazing blues piano player... and then I remember I'm just an unemployed stoner who wastes a lot of time on RUclips.
14 years since this amazing blues has been released and since I’m looking for and watching so many piano blues on youtube I was not able to find any blues better than that !! I’ m not bad at piano but it took me many years and now I really enjoy and have great fun playing that masterpiece by myself !!!
I’ve been obsessed with this video since I was 9, im 21 this year!!! A few years ago I lost my grandad and he played the guitar just like this, he never knew how to read music but he played his soul out. This video makes me wanna learn piano so we can jam out in heaven together once I get there
I came across a couple of blues, I don't listen to them as much though. But I am taking up Music and the task is to compose either Jazz or Blues. And while I was at school researching, I clicked this video and my jaw literally dropped! Like omg. So speechless. You're a legend, Sir!
Bless you Farah, thank you for your message - I'm flattered! Don't forget to stay in touch on Facebook & Twitter, & if I can help with your project, I'll do my best. :)
No music lessons can teach this. I got a keyboard for Christmas when I was 5 by tea time I was playing with both hands and have played ever since without 1 lesson. Best advice I can give, listen to the notes, feel them and then play the piece.
my god.... My dad played exactly like this. he could play anythingg, I regret never taking piano seriously when he was alive. Now at 15 I take piano lessons and learn anything I possibly can online or from people who play.
you are soooo awesome!!!! you're like the stevie ray vaughan of the piano gods, playing fast licks and really letting it just flow out of yah!!! once again, awesome!!!
I grew up with an upright piano,an old wurly, and a rhodes suitcase in our home. My aunt had an old hammond b2 in her living room, as well, so fiddling around with keys came pretty naturally for me. copying my pops playing old big-band tunes, along with pretending to be Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard... I don't find too much interest in listening to most people play the style. Most are just "ok" enough to get good comments from people who don't really know music. You sir... Dan Burnett, are nothing short of astonishing. From one musician to another, I love your work, good sir. keep it up, brother.

amsterdamsel - hey thanks. Check out my live streams on YT & FB on Sunday evenings...next one coming up in a couple of hours. PS, my new YT channel is danburnettmusic. 🙂
I’m a bit late but this is absolutely amazing and motivated me to carry on practicing blues and boogie woogie I am 15 years old and have tried all year
Hello I’m back here again a year later and now I can play like this after all my hard work thank you very much for showing your playing because I’ve listened to many people like Brendan and terry miles to better understand blues and boogie constantly everyday and use their riffs and playing techniques.
I started on my own and learned wrong techniques that hampered my playing and freedom. Now that I follow lessons I've become so much better than before because playing music is something you can't teach, but playing a piano is something you can teach. If you don't know with which fingers to play your scales and how to play them in every octave without stopping or getting stuck you won't be able to play at your full potential. Ofcourse you need the ears and soul as well.
14 years since this has been released and I keep finding myself coming back to it, what a jam!!! Wish I could play like that
i just found this today
Same
Amen brother

Oh man, i love this!!😎
When I listen to this stuff I like to close my eyes and imagine it's me entertaining the crowd, then I remember I've a boring corporate career. :'(
Buy a set of keys. A lot of people play for free :) if you want to play badly enough you can.
Brawndo I'm upset after reading that, I want to see you entertain a crowd now, please don't stop.
Life is what you make it.

You, sir, are a proper blues cat. I simply love the blues. It's like funk and jazz had a baby.
This is still to date the absolute best blues piano jam on you tube.
Those runs in the intro are just sick...
