This looks quite flexible and the good thing is it's all done in FCP. Got me thinking one could do the same thing using a PNG image with transparency in the area where the video shows through laid over the video. Using Keynote one could do lot of fancy stuff with the overlay including animations and export it as video with alpha channel using ProRes 4444.
