I’ve been many a day back in the 60’s when it was non stop trains and people traveling. My grandfather worked for the railroad and would take me to Raleigh riding the train. Great memories for sure. Hamlet was a good family railroad town.

I live near Hamlet in Troy area and our Montgomery County Historical Society got to do a wonderful tour of the trains and museum from the Historical Society in Hamlet.
That was the most wonderful day I had.
Thank You for showing me the museum and trains again.

When they had the old engine displayed by the road where they use to be the fair grounds on business 74 across from city lake. My grandfather helped put the engine on display there. Kinda kool especially after he passed. I hated it the first time I saw it had been moved.

CSX's Midnight Blue paint scheme with the dark yellow trim, is a winner. It's much better than some of their others that they've tried.

I visited Hamlet Station back in the late 80s and it seemed to me that the track that runs east to west was closer to the station then than it does today. 4/3/2017

If Im not badly mistaken, and I know for a fact that it was moved, when you visited, it may have not been moved then. Im not sure the year it was moved.

What was the point of moving the station across the diamond if the Amtrak train usually straddles the diamond anyway

Back in the 90s when I was at Hamlet station I remember a subway station next to the station and it seem that the tracks was closer to the station. the subway was a tunnel that went under the tracks back when trains run through when passenger trains was at the station, Is it still there ?

If it is, I didn't see it, or any signage for it. But now, I want to go back and look for it :-0

The station was moved and turned 90 degrees. The tunnel is still there but has been filled in.
