To my knowledge, ExpressCharge does the opposite of what you said. It makes the laptop charge quicker, making the battery degrade faster. This setting can be changed in BIOS on any alienware laptop.

I just got an R16 with an i9-14900KF and a 4080 SUPER. In the latest version of AWCC I can see the advanced tab for the CPU but not for thr GPU. Any ideas?
@deadeye329 Did you get the m16 r1 or the m16 r2? And that's odd. I'm not too sure why you're not seeing the Advanced tab for the GPU? Have you tried uninstall and re-install the ACC and NVIDIA latest drivers?

Hell no...M16R1 is way better than this thing cuz you gotta options to choose 4080 and 4090 graphics card, also CPU was much more stronger, 13th HX 55 CPU way better than Meteor Lake. But, if you looking for regular gaming laptop with good battery life, R2 is your choice since R1 was more performance but it is huge, heavy, battery life was terrible, performance comes at a cost.

If you undervolt/overclock and it breaks your computer - it's rare but not impossible - then they're stating your warranty will not covered. Please be sure you understand what you're doing before attempting. You could even end up bricking your computer where it no longer boots. And considering that the gains are mostly single digits at best, it's not worth the trouble unless you're hardcore into tuning.

@cooldaddyC How did you clean start your Windows? Did you use the "Reset my PC" option from Windows Settings? If so, then it should be reinstalling everything from your local hard drive. Alienware provides a recovery image in a hidden partition. If you just installed from a USB and formatted the hard drive, then installed Windows that will be missing. Go to dell.com and go to the support site, install their SupportAssist and then it will tell you what software is missing and needs updates for your laptop including drivers AND Alienware Command Center.
I reset my Pc from windows settings not using usb I used only windows and Alienware not loaded. Then I downloaded from dell support my Alienware command center but it didn't look my first Alienware command center and I tried to use G for max performance and test this app says it worked but nothing changed on my fan motors or something else.

@ochko2k The Dell G15 also uses the same software. If it doesn't activate the keyboard and RGB, try the keyboard combo button. There is a Fn+F9 key combo. Try that to see if it toggles the performance modes. Also try Fn+F7 for the keyboard backlight brightness. If those buttons don't work or do anything try to uninstall, reboot, and then re-install Alienware Command Center. If it still doesn't work, then please contact Dell support.

I have the r16 aurora. Playing hell let loose earlier in the day and it froze. Then computer shut off. When I restarted the computer it shut down overclocking as a fail safe. Ran a scan through the support app. Everything was fine. But I played again tonight. And my temps on the cpu were reaching 70-83 degrees celcius. Which is a little warm? But I ran it in balance mode. Where before I was running performance. So not sure if it over heated and shut off earlier or perhaps it glitched out. But my best guess is it overheated
@chrisshaw9962 Is that the desktop r16 aurora you're talking about? Probably your overclocking settings (if any) failed and the silicon couldn't handle it. If you're running 70-83C that's good temps. Try running it in performance mode again. If still having problems contact Dell.
@@techknowlux yeah it’s the desktop. I ran it in balance mode last night and those were the temps. So I may run a custom setting and just run the fans a little higher to keep temps low

@InternetSupervillain Good question. I dont know if the app supports it by default. You could add it to your startup apps. Open up Task Manager, go in the Startup tab and add it as an app that runs everytime you boot your PC.
The Alienware Command Center is one of the most buggy piece of crap Software I have ever seen. I have bought a Dell OLED for 1300$ and cant use most of the features because of that. The developers focus on senseless features like per-game-LED settings, instead of getting the basics work. I had to wait 5(!) updates untill switching on AlienVision with hotkeys worked, and guess what? It stopped working suddenly, and now even with a total fresh install (deleting everything, registry,etc) no chance; hotkeys are simply dead. I lost hope in this software already, it is obvious, that DELL does not put the needed manpower into this, otherwise the software should do what it was intended to, after all this years of waiting und hoping.....
@flitzecrack It's not just Dell. It's the same story on all these gaming laptops. I dislike ALL of them equally. I have stated in a previous video I would much prefer that these features be built into the BIOS and key-combinations to activate/deactivate them wherever available. Problem solved. No need for this bloated, buggy software at all. It's just an attempt to distinguish, capitalize on the brand and marketing for these companies.

@sevastyan You are correct my friend. I double checked on Dell's website. ExpressCharge charges faster but the tradeoff is faster battery degradation.
