    That was very helpful. I was able to play the high notes, but was having difficulty with high notes when combined with large intervals. Practicing with harmonics gave a good guide for knowing exactly where to aim. I was a professional bassoonist who started on the flute, but after I quit the bassoon I've been playing my flute again.

    Helped greatly. I'm an 8th grade flute player, and have been playing for 4 years. Recently I have been having trouble playing high F and G, and I've been freaking out since our concert is in early December. I tried playing the scale you were, where you play the note low, and then high, and it helped me play the notes I needed. Thank you! :)

    Amlie, your channel is fantastic. You have answers to everything and, most importantly, those answers do work. I am long time multi-instrumentalist (means, I know where and how to start properly), so I decided to teach Flute to myself completely from scratch all alone. No, it isn't hard at all. It just like any other instrument: patience, practice and practice again. And patience. :-) You helped me for low register (mine is B-Foot, and I sounded like a teapot). Now you helped me with high register, where I sounded like a steam engine. Now I went through all chromatic diapason of the entire Flute and it does work! I still have to remove some air, equalise tone etc. But hey, it was just few days in total as I started. So I am totally fan of you. :-) Keep teaching Flute as your way is totally cool with no bulls***t! Love you.

    Thank you this was very helpful💜. I have been playing for four years on the flute and the higher register has been more uncomfortable than the lower register for me. With these tips my higher register will improve

    I have been practicing my high notes and felt I was making good progress. Rather than blowing harder, I worked on using the lips. Today nothing is working 😭 my low register sounds nice, I cannot get any high register at all 😭😭 And I don’t know what I’m doing wrong

    Hello I loved your video very helpful I am experiencing an airy sound with some of my high register notes.

    • @flutechannel
      @flutechannel  7 лет назад +1

      sorry for the late reply! Isolate those high notes and play them longer (not louder) than usual and listen. make them a tiny exercise and work on it. Let us know how it goes. Keep that air fast and concentrated will help.

      The Flute Channel Thanks Marina, I have been learning flûte for 8 months, my right pinky always gets stiff. I tried to correct this by paying special attention to my pinky, but it didn't help much. Really appreciate you videos because you put so much effort into explaining important basic flûte knowledges. Thanks!

    Very very helpful video. The visualization part actually makes sense because when I tried to take my first high note I got all tense in my body and almost stepped on my toes because I wanted it so badly. You need to remain your calm I guess :D I'm going to try this out tomorrow because I have a hard time getting my high tones.

    • @flutechannel
      @flutechannel  6 лет назад +1

      Totally, no need to be all tense. It can be achieved with calm collective practice. Don't be discouraged. I do hope it gets better. Let me know in a couple days how it goes. Thanks again for watching it means so much!

    • @Guy-Usf4
      @Guy-Usf4 6 лет назад +1

      I'll do that and I will not get discouraged! I have not been this passionate about something for a long time and I have made huge progress in just 5 days I've played.

      The Flute Channel It's been almost a week and I've been practicing on the high notes. I can tell that I have improved. I couldn't even play them 6 days ago but now I can! (Kind of) it's still inconsistent and the top 2 holes are very difficult. They are just too high and I can't get the right tone just yet. It feels like I'm getting the hang of it though.
