People know that it is a clone and still wanna complain about minimal differences. At the end of the day--if the Clone smells close enough--& is a fraction of the price--WHY NOT PULL THE TRIGGER. The trick is to smell good--and If I can accomplish that I will wear OFF body spray!! Appreciate you my man--keep em coming!! You got a sub for life!!
I actually bought the Asad not knowing it was supposed to copy Elixir, the first day I wore it someone asked me if I was wearing Dior, you learn something every day.
Yup. Thats the beauty of these clones. Some of them smell so close , people will think you're wearing the real deal. And you can either come clean, or go with the flow. Hahahaha
I finally have them! Both are good clones of DS Elixir (around 85%, the opening of them are really-really close to DSE but the drydowns are kinda different) but if I were being picky, I would pick Asad, not because it's closer to the OG but to my nose it's a little more well blended & masculine. But like I said, both are good options if you don't wanna spend $150.

I am def a frag head and have got my nose on a lot of things and I honestly get shocked when people say asad isn’t very close to elixir. It’s very close especially in the air. Sauvage is better quality, last a bit longer, more natural smelling, more sparkling freshness from the sauvage dna and more licorice….asad is a tiny bit sweeter and heavier. But the differences are so small. But to his or her own. I heard emir and fragrance world clones are the best as far as accuracy but don’t last so long or the notes don’t jump out as hard….side note: lattafas usually tend to get better with age. A few months to macerate and you’ll notice it lasting a bit longer and notes staying around more as well

I think people are more likely to smell the dry down because that’s what you get after a couple hours or less for the rest of the day. I like the Afnan for its deferences it’s definitely not a 1-1 copy.
I just couldn't learn to like asad. My bottle only smells liquorice and shiha pipe. I tried it several times but I just cant get myself to like this smell. If dior smells anything close to asad then I would never buy it. Kind of like " Black afghano". I don't know if its just mine but I dont detect any of the notes you mentioned.
I personally have 4 other clones of elixr. Eventually ill do a best of. But I had one from FW when it first came out that I felt was better than Asad. So I ended up selling asad
