Genshin Impact has some of the most ethereal music out there. They're just so good at making the world feel like it's as magical as it appears, and it's the one thing that keeps me coming back to the game. Liyue especially has such a special place in my heart, as someone who absolutely loves classical and traditional Chinese music, but also for how it feels as a whole.
I've never played Genshin, but this music is absolutely beautiful. It doesn't take a player to understand how magical this music really is. It sounds divine in every way, quite simply, heavenly. What makes it all the more sweeter, is reading all the comments of everyone who has played the game. The stories, the memories, the nostalgia, the love, it is simply, wonderful. To hear the amount of love and soul that has been connected with these songs already is too sweet to find the right word for it. It is lovely. I love to hear your heart shed tender tears of love. every time I open the start screen for Genshin, I get this teary-eyed nostalgia from the songs because I remember exactly how excited I felt hearing it for the first time, walking around in Mondstadt, and completing quests with the OST in the background 😭 some of the BEST days in Genshin were at the very start-not even the start of the game 3 years ago, just…my start, when I first opened it and heard the start gate crumble together.

We'd do events, co-op together, run around the map without ever getting tired of it... Genshin was our magical little world where we could be together having fun despite the chaos outside in our world. This music just reminds me so much of all the laughter and conversations we shared, these melodies playing in the background... It was so magical back then, and it still is now; despite time ticking on, and eventually having to get back to what was my normal life before the pandemic... Having no time to play Genshin anymore. Genshin is truly a magical game. I just opened this playlist out of nowhere but when the music at 2:30 comes up, emotions start hitting me.

As someone who is chinese but grew up in sweden I love to explore Liyue in genshin. Growing up I always had to hide my chinese culture since people would constantly bully me for it. Acting swedish and hiding my culture was the only way for me to be viewed as somewhat equal to other people. Now that I’ve grown older I’ve come to realize the immense value that my chinese background has and i’m eager to learn more about china and my heritage and be proud of who i am. I feel like theres alot of people who have a negative view on china in west, so when i found out that genshin was chinese it made me very proud and happy. It just feels like finally theres a game that can share some of the amazing culture in china that people can actually appreciate. I know its just a game but i love exploring liyue and the architecture in it, it makes me feel connected. ❤️ i feel alot of stress and anxiety in my daily life so entering this magical world also makes me feel relaxed, and it helps against my loneliness. The story quests are so good and well written and the characters feel like my friends. My faves are Hu tao, Attaraki Ito and Raiden Shogun ❤️
