I attended a Hebrew Bible conference in Portland Oregon. Tim Mackie gave an amazing talk that I wanted to share. This is the first of 3 part docu-series on Tim Mackie and his origin story. I had the incredible opportunity to interview Ray Lubeck (Tim's old professor.) It turns out Ray is a key to understanding Tim's journey and also a key as to why God is producing so many great thinkers in Portland.

Tim Mackie rocks! I just love listening to his teachings and insights on his Bible Project video's. He has quite the sense of humor as well, but such profound insights into scripture from a Hebraic/Middle Eastern perspective. This very deep kind of insight is sadly lacking in the churches of today. Thank you for presenting this series.

I’ve learned So much from watching Tim mackie I started a online class but found out quickly that I needed to go start from the introduction to the Hebrew Bible and well I’ve completed the intro to Hebrew Bible and then Adam to Noah and then Heaven and Earth and now just completed from Noah to Abraham wonderful learning Thank you Tim mackie and John collins I listen to their podcast and I can’t get enough

Good question Dwight Pryor? david flusser? Marvin Wilson? and many many more I have been studying this way since the mid 80 s never heard of Lubeck until recently but really looking forward to learning more. Run a crossed Tim a few years ago so glad made my heart full of joy that this way is being excepted more and more. Not only were not many places teaching this stuff but you could get removed from fellowship effectively for asking these type of questions many people have taken bullets to get here so to speak. I have come too your channel and very glad I have this has been a very hard time in my life hopefully things like your youtube continues to rekindles my intent my heart and many many more. Watch out for hero worship with much of this being so new and not being able to hear it other places it can be easy to put man in places he should not be I have found this to be true in my life you can take it if it applies to you. Also sorry if this seems to knock these men my intent is not to only to widen the view of just how many men and women GOD used to get here

@@ringthembells143 I Have the 2010 edition. Also picked up John Sailhamer’s book “How we got the Bible” another Tim recommendation.
This is great ... but I would remove the melodic music accompaniment .. that is very distracting
