The thing with the Rods was at the time they became known Punk was on the rise, and singer Barrie didn't want anything to do with punk, which was unfortunate because being aware of the music scene of 75-77 the Rods, like Dr.Feelgood, were a major influence in Britain for the emerging punk scene for their fast playing and attitudes.
Excelente banda 👍👌 rico SUENAN UNOS MAESTROS DE LA BUENA MUSICA!!!!!! esto las nuevas generaciones JAMÁS van a súperar INFLUENCIA; SANGRE; SUSTANCIA!!!!!!
No SLF for sure ! But Lurkers came more from the Ramones, Clash from Ramones, NY Dolls & Pistols, Pistols from Stooges & early Who. Eddie and the Hot Rods gave Slaughter & the Dogs, Skrewdriver, Undertones, Protex, etc. Damned came from Stooges
I did a double take on the thumbnail (group photo at 1:47) because I thought it was the Stiff Little Fingers members! 😂 Henry, Brian, Ali, Jake from left to right. Both bands are great!
I would suggest that musically the Rods were closer to the MC5 than The Stooges- twin guitars, traditional rock/blues roots. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This is great rock n roll, but the comparisons to Raw Power are u founded-- the Stooges TRANSCENDED rock n roll on their 3rd LP; Raw Power was a Molotov cocktail masquerading as a record album!
I heard two of the members became undercover police man Some ripping songs I say this because my mate got busted by them at Centerpoint in Tottenham Court Road in 19 83
Yes, very likely. I bet they said "We're the Southend plainclothes branch of the Met. You may have seen us on Top of the Pops 5 or 6 years ago. Do Anything You Wanna Do? Not on our manor! You're nicked, sunshine!"
çà!? c'est vraîment eux ,çà me fait penser qu'y faut que j'arrête de copier téléphone ,et que ferais mieux de copier eddy & the hot rods Szchimmel (et toc!)
still going strongish, minus the odd member or 2!!!!pub rock to punk rock, great band, loved the earlier bootboy haircuts and gear playing to punks who hated teds..not giving a fuck.great days, saw yez in DUBLIN was it 1977 or 1978.get back!!!!
One of the most underrated bands of all time …… brilliant
100%
Underrated? No way. They´re simply "too British" in style, and they did it on purpose (despite Weller´s later internationalism).
Sonics rendez-vous band is in competition. If we really want to call it competition

How do you find something "coincidentally"? Don't you mean "incidentally"? You might also want to check out Generation X if you like this one.

No Rods would have meant no Clash Pistols, Lurkers, SLF, and all the great bands that followed

Graeme Douglas saved The Rods, this is as close to Raw Power as british will ever get, really just the best ( Nicol is great, ah everyone is )
The Clash shit all over anything the Stooges have ever done
Get fucked no way
I would suggest that musically the Rods were closer to the MC5 than The Stooges- twin guitars, traditional rock/blues roots. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
@@upndowndelinquent7593 - In fact they recorded two songs with Rob Tyner (MC5 singer)...
Do anybody have this song Lyrycs?
And a b-side at that - "I mIght be lying" was the a.
How angry can you get ( without being Lemmy )...
😍
This is great rock n roll, but the comparisons to Raw Power are u founded-- the Stooges TRANSCENDED rock n roll on their 3rd LP; Raw Power was a Molotov cocktail masquerading as a record album!
Reminds me of a certain Gonads tune..."But she can' t beat the Business..." etc.
Percect TEN, on a par with Raw Power
I heard two of the members became undercover police man Some ripping songs I say this because my mate got busted by them at Centerpoint in Tottenham Court Road in 19 83
Boooooo
what on earth are you on about? none of them were ever coppers mate
Yes, very likely. I bet they said "We're the Southend plainclothes branch of the Met. You may have seen us on Top of the Pops 5 or 6 years ago. Do Anything You Wanna Do? Not on our manor! You're nicked, sunshine!"
can someone drop full lyrics?
çà!? c'est vraîment eux ,çà me fait penser qu'y faut que j'arrête de copier téléphone ,et que ferais mieux de copier eddy & the hot rods Szchimmel (et toc!)

Or maybe "I lost my love to a UK Sub"
Fuckin cool. Check out Fires' Fathers Name Is Dad btw
Is this sort of like Paranoid by Black Sabbath?
No
Sure sounds a lot like it!
Same rhythm and kinda constructing of the song but different melodies. Few chords and pure speed
