We're embarking on a little 'truck build' project. I bought a 2009 Toyota Tundra to use as a work truck for the shop. We'll be turning it into a full fledge work rig!

Love my 1st Gen '05 Tundra dual cab. 300K km and counting. Last year I took it from Vancouver Island to Tuk Northwest Territory and back and it continues to run flawlessly. I run a 2.5 - 3.0 leveling kit and heavier duty springs. I strongly suggest you consider changing your gear sets depending on what the factory installed. My stock was 3:9 and it struggled to hold its speed up grades if you had any kind of cargo on board or even pulling a light utility trailer and all the while the tranny was trying to figure out if it wanted to downshift or not. At times it would downshift 2 gears and the engine would roar to 4500-5000 rpm. I dropped in 4:88s plus a Detroit Torsen style mechanical limited slip in the rear and it is like a new truck. Milage is better as the engine does not have to work as hard as before. I wish I had done that sooner. And of course the truck deserves proper rubber like Cooper ST Maxx. It will plow through snow until the under body high centers.

I’ve got a 2018 dual cab w/8 ft bed. Two best upgrades were airbags on the rear and some high output back up lights. I haul and tow a lot and those two things have been great. Tow mirrors would probably be #3.

Doing a bed liner would be a good idea.

Nice truck man…yes indeed the salt is real down east and on the rock. I love Newfoundland. I was there last in 96 I think. My home is in Peterborough, Ontario. Though I spent many years of my youth in the maritimes. Un-der-stand New-found-land 😀!

Too expensive, new OEM housings, a relay switched wiring harness, and some 100/90w Osram Super Brights is the way to go.
