  • This theme song has already been circling around YT for a long time. I've decided to bring it to you myself as well. From "Bless The Beasts and The Children" to "The Young and The Restless", Nadia's Theme [or Cotton's Dream as it was originally titled on Bless The Beasts…] has become one of the most successful soap opera themes in the history. This is the ORIGINAL recording that was used for the show's closing credits from Y&R's start up until sometime in 1987 or '88. I've decided to include pictures of some of the drawings that the late Sandy Dvore shared for Y&R's early openings from 1973 to 1982 just to give this music video some visuality.

Followed by the Columbia Pictures Television logo, with "A UNIT OF THE Coca-Cola COMPANY" underneath, and A shortened, slightly higher pitched version of the Sunburst music by Suzanne Ciani. The 1976 version was also used on this logo for a long version.

That's just like the 1979 theme to the Channel 10 1980s Australian jailhouse soap opera drama series, Prisoner. It's called 'On The Inside'. Prisoner was done on set at the former Channel 10 television studios in Nunawading, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

No, many/most of the actors featured are NOT from the original 1973 cast. Only four of them are.

@@sandydee8003 Robert Colbert (Stuart Brooks), Trish Stewart (Chris Brooks), Brenda Dickson (Jill Foster) and Julianna McCarthy (Liz Foster) are the only four actors in this recreated opening who were featured in the original cast when Y&R began in 1973. Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) and Jaime Lyn Bauer (Lorie Brooks) were the original actresses in their roles, but they did not appear until months after the premiere.

@@sandydee8003 No problem. I loved vintage Y&R. I remember the show's earliest days more clearly than what I had for dinner last night, LOL!

This is not from 1973 mire like 1982

@PhackFanForever Except, no, it wasn't. The vast majority of the actors featured in te sketches were not even on the show in 1973, and the red-ink Y and R letters were not used until years later.

I would’ve liked to hear Y&R’S theme with vocal, but those lyrics have been kept under lock & key. I would simply NOT want to know what the lyrics say.
