Rather than being choppy animation, I think this is in fact an artistic choice on deliberately making GranVang's movements not as smooth as VangNex. VangNex is a speedy type real robot while GranVang is a hard-hitting super robot in settings, so it makes a lot of sense if VangNex is much more quicker in movement and hence framerates. If you look closely, GranVang actually isn't slow (it almost teleports from launch to hitting the Gruhl copy), but the artists decided to deliberately make it "pose" during each movement, especially when it is walking in thin air to further signify its "mid-air walking movement" design. It goes along with its super robot theme well yet most people still stick to the "high fps = high quality" way of thinking. To me, GranVang's animation framerate is a bit too low, but not unacceptable and suits its theme better instead of being super flashy like its real type counterpart.
Thing is when they give her the upgreade she is not a noob anymore, nine states that trought time her skill increased to the point tha bangray could not keep up with her, in soji case he had that skill since the start.
Jesus Christ how can she breath in that... And of course it has funnels, can't be a Banpresto OC unless you got funnels and/or some unreasonably OP system.
Except those weren't funnels... Geminon has an attack where it sends two "bits" to attack the target and Li Brasta also utilizes some sort of "bit" to attack, but neither are funnel attacks, nor have funnel attack styles.
I still don't get people either saying that the animation is choppy or that SRW W animation was better, when... The animation only having mostly key frames and not tweening it's a stylistic choice and allows them to have much more EXTREMELY dynamic movements instead of soft and smooth ones like say, OG. The explosions and the smoke and GranVang spinning around while shooting are fucking impressive and hand-made, regardless of 60fps animation or not. And SRW W has impossibly deformed robots, while they are barely deformed here in SRW V. It was actually hard to really tell what some units really looked likes because they were kind of scrunched up like that. Nonetheless, SRW W DOES have fantastic animation, you just can't compare them. Different hardware and quality, i'd say. I still have to pick up this game, but I'm very happy with the Originals. Great work, Banpry!
Is it me or because I never played other SRW that I think that GranVang in the only Super Robot that is all range attack. Because when I see super robots, my first impression is that it is focus on physical even if the move is range in animation it still a melee move.
The mech design of vangray and its upgrade is kinda familiar, and i google it and i was corrcect. The same guy who create kurogane linebarrel and ultraman manga. The latest one.
+kasmichan I'm not talking about gameplay stat. Alteisen's animation conveyed the description perfectly. It's heavy so it can only fly in a straight line, it's not exactly a mobile unit. Think of it like a rocket. But Gran Vang looks more mobile than Vang Nex which is supposed to be the speed type. I said this because Vang Nex barely moved in its attacks except the last one.
Have you ever watched Tenga Toppa Gurren Lagann? The Gurren Lagann is definitely a power-type Super Robot, but is one dodge-happy unit. This is basically the same idea. I mean, the animations even look somewhat TTGL inspired.
I think this better than vangnex... Granvang is a hard hitting super robot one... That choppy animation kinda make sense when u see the thing pose alot of time like when it pose to emphasize its mid air run movement.... Its good but i guess its only my opinion
Man, this version was a lot more disappointing than I expected. Despite being the power choice it's animations look sluggish and lack impact. The animations for the beams is especially disappointing in comparison to the VangNex.

Except, it really isn't. I do agree it might seem like it. Personally, it seems out of place because how different of a sprite it has compared to the other units in the game.
I honestly hate how overtly sexualized Chitose is. Isn't she supposed to be in the military? Which weird ass branch of the military allows their employees to dress like they're working in an office-themed Hooters? Doubly stupid considering she actually pilots a mech. It's just dumb, plain and simple. The other guy actually has a cool look that fits his character, while Chitose has to walk around like she works in the Playboy mansion
the true hero of this mecha is that shirt
Her bust size increases in her final attack somehow.

old as hell comment but i 100% agree, if you a super robot you better be posin and stylin on the foes foolish enough to oppose you
Power suits her more as eyes the inexperienced newbie and it suits her personality of hope. The speed suits Soji who is a veteran and pragmatic.
Thing is when they give her the upgreade she is not a noob anymore, nine states that trought time her skill increased to the point tha bangray could not keep up with her, in soji case he had that skill since the start.
@@juliox9
Same thing with koji and many other super robot pilots but it’s at home feeling with the mechs
You know it's full power when Chitose was able to remove a button from her breast pocket.
I like this for Chitose. The Speed upgrade is pretty pragmatic, which suits Soji better.
still prefer the vangnex but this thing has an actual walking animation... and her second theme is something about walking, which fits
Jesus Christ how can she breath in that...
And of course it has funnels, can't be a Banpresto OC unless you got funnels and/or some unreasonably OP system.
Actually, it's been quite a while since a Original mecha had some sort of funnel attack on it...
Kiryu Ga Gotoku
Geminion Ray was the latest OG unit before this and it had funnels. Before that there was the Li-Brasta which also has funnels.

Remote Weapons then since you wanna be that specific, don't try moving the goalpost. My point still stands strong.
yeah they are bits rather funnels as that is AI control
Hope to see this series animation evolve further than what V and X does .
Last year SD G Generation look really good .
One reason why i prefer the GranVang, i prefer its animations more. IDK, the more choppy yet stylized animations just do it for me more

Yeah, people don't seem to realize that and keep running their mouths.
It's a weird stylistic choice imo, but it works in the actual game, even if it does look weird here when you notice it.
No, the animation is garbage... if you like this kind of animation and think oit's a decent "stylistic choice", then you have poor taste, that's all.
Yeah, because insulting others is a nice way to prove your point, right?
Yes it does... glad I made myself clear
If you just go by how the attacks are, it almost seems like they switched which upgrade is which.
holy shit that unbuttoned pockets due to the THICKNESS LMAO
2:04 YES
Oh my god they did come unbuttoned lol.

have you ever heard of trombe?
Oh yeah! I forget it because I only played it in SRW OG in GBA. Nice! Thanks man!
Aussenseiter a.k.a. Dytrombe is a "Super" that transforms into a black horse and combines with Dygenguard for a special combination attack...

Super Soul Saber GG or Garmraid Blaze (S)?
@@nekokitkatlongassname Ahh yes ratsel.... His attack is like all range lol
Super Soul Saber GG & Garmraid (S) all range too

personally, i have to pick the speed version of GranVang.
You mean VangNex?
RynarXross05 Yes.
Pim Sutter You've made a wonderful choice. :3
Did i make a mistake picking the "fast" vang?
What is better in terms of speed and power types in terms of stats, firepower and ranking in your opinion? What you prefer?
I like supers so I prefer power. And the power type has stronger attack then speed.
The SPD type is quite powerful too
Would chitose theme song be any different if she were in the Vangnex?
Doubt it, songs are more reflective of the character's growth than the mech.
Did they screw up the translation somewhat? Why isn't this speed type?
PWR type, but still very dodgy as hell...
welcome to SRW world...just look at alteissen...it's a heavy power unit but because of its pilot it can dodge no problem..

I love the attack animations but real question, why is it so choppy?
It isn't.
Is indeed choppy
It is a SUPER ROBOT. They can do eveythting they want because fuck logic

How come your VangNex vid does more damage compared to GranVang when this is the Power type?
Because VangNex was on my 2nd playthrough?
I see so how's the weapon stat difference in Full Upgrade? and damage scaale wise if on first playthrough?
BUSTER MODE! 2:01
Who do you think is the better fit for this Mech?
Chitose - Granvang
Souji - VangNex
These. 2:00
Hi at what level can start to choose between speed and power?
When she ask you in dialogue which u want as a choice
Cool animation but My eyes kind of hurt
wait, so if you are playing as Chitose you get this power form, and if you chose Soji you get the speed form?
No, Nine lets you choose no matter who you use.
ZengarZanvolt so it means i can choose this unit with Soji, right? it's not exclusive for Chitose only, right?

so the sprite is too detailed, they can't animate it in more than 5 fps? lol
You need your eyes checked if this looks 5 FPS to you.
It seems to skip many frames
It doesn't, look at it closely.
There's something about the lack of tweens that's REALLY off-putting. I know it was done on purpose, but...ew.
This isnt from an anime right? Theyre just making it look weird to imitate a medium its not a part of
