If you do this challenge again, you could have a word blacklist, so any words that cause you to reset are put there and can no longer be used. It could be interesting to see if chat strategizes around that. Though if you want to make it extra spicy, you could put a price on the blacklist words to remove them from the blacklist and available to use again.
I like this, and maybe like super common words necessary to use correct grammar (pronouns, conjunctions, etc) could be more expensive than random nouns/verbs/adjectives? or set like a refractory period for them so it's not over used
As someone who just worked as a scare actor in a haunted house this fall, we *absolutely* target people who look extra scared or jumpy. It's fun for us to get big reactions, and we don't always have enough time/energy to scare everyone equally, so we tend to prioritize scaring jumpy-looking people over stoic people. So, if you don't want to be scared as much in a haunted house, playing it cool and acting unfazed is one of the best ways to minimize the amount of jumpscares you get.
@Eleanor Bartle Okay, I think I should clarify. We don't (or at least I don't) go after anybody who is visibly distraught, unhappy, crying, or traumatized. The point of a haunted house is to scare people in a fun and safe way, not to scar people for life. Often, the jumpy, squealy people will be part of a big group of friends who are having fun and enjoying the scariness of the haunt together, and those are the people it's most fun for us to scare. By saying "if you don't want to be scared, don't act scared", I wasn't trying to victim-blame, I was trying to offer a way for those who might not find it as fun to *communicate* that to the scare actors. Again, we're not looking for "victims" to traumatize, we're entertainers looking to bring the guests a scary, but good, time. Of course, we're also trying to have fun ourselves by going for big reactions, but never if that means tormenting someone who obviously looks miserable.
This feels like the opposite. Since the point of a haunted house is to get scared, by not even trying to scare the stoic people just makes it seem like you have a shit haunted house because they'll come out of it feeling like nothing was scary and the actors didn't even try where as the people who are getting the scary treatment already would have naturally got the scares they came for just from being themselves
This was fun! I'd actually like to see you do this challenge again, but have the words be a minimum of four letters. We've seen you say "the" and "I", I wanna see if chat can get you to say more interesting stuff!
One of my favorite videos of CJ’s. All the moments of saying the word, not realizing it, and then utter disdain and frustration realizing he said it. Quality content.
12:42 Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, is actually synonym for Silicosis but related to volcanic mining. Its a compound word made out of 1. Pneumono 2. Ultra 3. Micro 4. Scopic 5. Silico 6. Volcano 7. Coni 8.-osis
If you wanted to do this again a nice variation would be to add an additional word for each kingdom cleared so you have more words to avoid but no random changes
Super fun video. It could be cool to use a voice recognition program in order to catch when you say the word. it also allows for more chat interaction. The program could interpret "smart ego" as "mario" for example, so chat can try to trick you
Fun video! You should try this again but with a word detection program and donations TTS on, so that way people can try to con you into saying the word. (See: DougDoug playing Smash Brothers and keeps saying "Ike" because he says "Like" a lot.)
In my opinion you should only reset when you say the word AFTER you realize that it has changed. Or there should be a text-to-speech saying the word so that you know that it has changed.
Getting you to say 'dismantle' was such a big brain strat, I reckon the vote would have swung in favour of that counting if it meant a reset rather than the stream ending.
Okay I'm in my school auditorium waiting for my turn to practice violin, and the other group started playing a dramatic orchestral song right as you said "poop" in the intro
Things of note: "two" is not "to", and "I'm" is not "I". The second one is debatable, but answering the question "what is 1+1" with "two" definitely doesn't count as saying "to", because there's no doubt about which word you said.
Favorite part is that “all the sudden” is an uncommon variation of the idiom “all of a sudden”, so I actually just heard “of a” instead of “the” and would’ve let it slide
Using words in words shouldn't count in a challenge like this. When it is a bot listening for a word, that's one thing, but as humans we know the difference.
i mean for voice recognition picking up words, the word being contained in another isn't a technical limitation, more of a feature. personally, i think it gives chat more of a mind game to play without having to donate, and makes the challenge more interesting
One piece of criticism I have was whenever it zoomed in on his face we couldn't actually see the current word, which had usually changed between cuts. Other than that great video!
The challenge was /probably/ made more difficult when that person kept spamming "The" as the word 😂💀 also: "Say bye chat!" mmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww

@Eleanor Bartle I would suspect most people that get peer pressured would fall into that, so I feel for those

What the hell does this have to do with mario odyssey?????????
26:05 CJ only lost here because he thought the phrase was "all the sudden" instead of "all of a sudden" lol
You can see that even when the word isn't "the," Cj still flinches when he says "the." This has given him genuine PTSD.

cj holding his cat with one hand is so funny to me, idk why
IT'S SO SMALL (well maybe not anymore but still) AND ADORABLE
It was great when he said "all of a sudden" wrong and got righteously punished for using "the"
I loved the part where cj said: "it's not saying that wordin' time" and proceeded to say that word
