I, for one, love Cozy Glow as a whole. Including her as a villain.
But the main problem I have with her is the lack of a Freudian excuse or anything resembling a motivation beyond her misunderstanding what friendship really is. From what I've seen, the writers didn't think too hard about the implications of her being an evil child, and especially didn't expect people to get upset when she wasn't given an excuse or even a second chance before being tossed into Tartarus. One of them even tried to pull the excuse of "She's an adult in a child's body" out of their ass. And stuff like this led people to believe that Cozy isn't anywhere near as evil as she was intended to be.
Maybe she could have gotten more episodes deeicated to her after she was introduced, showcasing more of her character to not only lull us into a false sense of security rather than only giving us red flags, but also maybe give her that backstory, some additional buildup to the Tirek twist, and maybe some chance at understanding friendship in a legitimate sense. Maybe even bring back Diamond Tiara for the occasion; seems like a job she could help with. All before stripping all that away to break any doubts that she wasn't evil.
But of course, we didn't get that. That's what headcanons and fanfictions are for.
