- Meitei CSO's highlighted the ongoing crisis in Manipur at a UNHRC meeting session in Geneva. International Peace and Social Advancement's Working President Khuraijam Athouba called for international intervention to resolve the conflict. He said that the 'indigenous population' is under severe threat, despite the presence of 60,000 troops in the state. He also spoke about spoke about increasing violence, drone bombings, and attacks by armed groups, including militants from Myanmar. He urged the UNHRC to intervene, assign special rapporteurs, and address the growing threat from armed narco-terrorist groups. The meeteis are not demanding for independence in the UN, they want the UN to pressurise India to solve the humanitarian crisis in Manipur. It's because India has not failed in solving the crisis, India is the real cause of the crisis and is intentionally sustaining the crisis. Therefore it's absolutely justified to seek UN's. interventions. When the home country is not interested in solving the crisis who should we turn to?

When you say inter tribal, please keep in mind that the Meiteis are not officially recognised as tribals while the whole nation sees us as one. We face the same backwardness and discrimination while being in the "general" category. Meiteis should be granted ST status.

As an Indian I should say that the issues of Manipur can't be soloved by Indian. Therefore, Athouba has to put the issues seeking help from the International Arena/Stage.
GOI could not effectively help/solve the issue for more than a year. Few national media are helping in discussing the issue, but there is ineffective implementation by the GOI. So, trust between Manipur and GOI has deteriorated. This will lead to asking for foreign help, no doubt at all.
Right now, a SOS from a Meitei village has come from a place called Lai Manai, Litan of Manipur about heavy attacks by the Kuki militants. Think about this. This is not by the Meiteis. No central force does anything. If so, why the victimised Meitei Villagers of Litan has to seek help. This discussion has continued 16 months media war against the real victims who are the Meiteis.
