- If you are having a hard time stretching your calf and getting it to
feel looser then this stretch may be what you have been missing. Scott
shows you have to stretch the soleus, which is located deep in the calf
and not easily accessible making it harder to stretch and care for.
This is a great stretch for runners, cyclists, hikers, urban explorers,
and anyone who is on moving on their feet for long periods of time.

Mine get sooo sore after playing soccer weekly and I couldn’t figure out how to get a deep enough stretch to loosen everything back up- this video helped me a ton! Thank you!
New runner and I have literally been in tears from the pain! Thank you isn’t enough for the relief I feel now!!! Much appreciated.
So glad to be helpful!
I recently started jogging. This is the only muscles aching in my entire body.😫 This stretch helped me a lot THANK YOU!
Right. I started jogging and OMFG. It hurts so bad to the point I couldn’t walk for a day.
So glad it helped!
Wow I did it and I immediately felt that muscle there that I don’t often get to stretch. Thank you.
I wish I would have came across this 3 months ago before I tore my soleus. I could never get a good stretch on it and ended up tearing it. This video has been great in helping with recovery. Thanks for the good work!
Sorry this video didn't get to you soon enough, but I'm glad it's helping with your recovery!
Thanks. This works well for me, I've got a problem with mobilising my Talus so this works where other stretches are limited by impingement.
This is just what I needed to learn. Thank you for posting this video!!!
So glad this was helpful, Phil!
thanks, sir that's really effective
Very easy, very effective
Thank you
worked well
I'm not feeling the stretch. However, after I'm done doing your stretch, I feel relief from the pain and tightness I felt. Thank you.
Hi Linda. We're so glad this helped bring some relief!
I have pain in that area for 3 weeks, thanks for the video I hope it works for me😭
is it better to keep your involved heel on the floor If your soleus is injured?
To get the best soleus stretch, you would want the heel on the ground while you bend the knee. However if your soleus is injured then you want to be careful with stretching it. Go slow and back off if you feel pain. I would suggest seeing a professional to get best advice! Good luck.
Soleus stretch
Could the soleus cause knee problems? Like lateral swelling and pain walking down stairs?
Having a tight or injured Soleus can definitely cause lower leg swelling and pain walking down stairs! So feel free to try out this stretch gently and see if you notice a difference. Just keep in mind that, when the Soleus affects knee joint issues, it's often working as a piece in a puzzle. Since there are many other factors that might be causing the discomfort you're experiencing, just make sure to fully investigate what's going on with a medical provider -- especially around the lateral swelling. Hope that helps!
@@psoasbodywork Thank you sir.. the swelling is just after exercise like squats or running, just at the Gerdy tubercle and its more like water than normal swelling... like its squishy and fairly painless.. MRI's show the knees are fine so It has to be muscular.
same with me i feel strong pain on my knee after i finish the exercize
I feel impinged on my leftside on this stretch.
Couldn't really get a good stretch with this one because I have limited ankle mobility and I felt pain in the front of my ankle before any calf stretch occurred
Hi DE, Since you have limited ankle mobility, this might not be the best stretch for you. I would suggest trying these first: ruclips.net/video/EpDQaYLZcvA/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/5z2qqftiBkg/видео.html. Let us know how it goes!
I went to a physio a couple months back and she was shocked at how tight this muscle was on me
Oohh I felt that.
Glad it was helpful!
i do deep squat instead for stretching soleus....
Hi Simon. Whatever works for you is great! Squats can definitely result in a soleus stretch for some people. But for those who want to isolate the soleus more specifically, we like this one!
thanks joe rogan
😂
I dont feel it
Hi @vanillaglue! If you don't feel a stretch on this one, check out a deeper soleus stretch here: ruclips.net/video/tSnOSnrNKrk/видео.html
