    Hi Jason, As I said before my wife is also Southern Irish and although we have both gone in different directions the one thing I missed since she left is her cousin who lives in Taghmon sending her regular parcels of Barmbrack ( For those who aren't aware its a type of fruit loaf ), we also used to buy it from a butcher in Bearwood near Birmingham who did a weekly trip to Ireland and would return with a van load of irish food, so you see although I miss her I miss the Barmbrack more, another great video by the way, And keep on laughing, Mike UK

      Thank's for joining me again Mike, by the sound of it you should try get a recipe for Barmbrack. You won't know yourself then, that's what i'd do anyway. I'd probably mess up the first ten I'd make but sure I'd get there eventually.

    this is the first video of yours i've seen, and even though it was short, it was great.
    i do a lot of camping myself, and i also will do oatmeal with some fruit and maybe some nuts in the morning sometimes, but i have to agree with that comment, a solid meal is usually what i would go for when i can, especially when camping.
    since you mentioned maybe adding bread next time...
    if you're interested in trying to make some bread to go with your meal next time, just let me know. i would be happy to share some of my simple and easy recipes. i even have a few that you can mix up either while you're at home getting ready to head out, or at camp the night before so it's ready to cook when you wake up.
    i promise it's very easy to make, and once you make it 1 or 2 times you can easily modify it and add in sweet or savory things. so say if you want to add in raisins and cinnamon and eat it with a little honey to have as desert. or add in some powdered garlic, onion, and paprika to have with your meal, or cheese and chile/jalapenos.
    and it's not hard to turn that dough into a simple pizza dough...
    but ya, let me know it you want one of my simple bread recipe
    also, i subscribed lol

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  3 месяца назад +1

      I shoot it 24fps and I don't use ND filters. If it's too bright I just turn up the shutter speed, it's not the done thing but for run and gun type filming I think sure why not. All the action camera's achieve their exposures with high shutter speeds.This video wasn't great, it was shot on the osmo action 4 wihich is a very nice camera but I tried a different colour profile and really regretted it in the edit

    My background & ancestry is Irish, but it's unfortunate that I've never been. I have a question about your forests. they all seem to be maintained so well. By that I mean that I don't see thick areas of dead brush. It also seems that there is space between the trees as if weaker & older trees have been removed to allow for the stronger ones to grow. Is this the case? Do you have a great forest management system in Ireland?

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  3 месяца назад

      Most of the forests are managed by Coilte. They mainly manage the pine forests that are tightly grown and harvested every 30 or so years. The few native deciduous woodlands we have left are mainly left to their own devices. I tend to go for rambles through the woods every now and then which is how I can find areas like this one. I love the forests here in Ireland, some of my camping videos will show them off better. I'll give you a link to an ancient woodland, it's one of the most beautiful woodlands I've seen so far.
      Here is the link, the video may not interest you but it's worth a look for the woodland alone, it's stunning ruclips.net/video/T5t6kBG0Fqk/видео.htmlsi=1hyXaAmki6As252J

    I hope Ur not eating those crap Irish Richmond sausages! My knob has more meat than those bangers! Any news on the camera? Cheers Mark!

      Great to hear about your knob 🤣 Scarred for life. I actually can't remember what brand they were but they were nice. The camera is not looking good, I've decided to upgrade to full frame, otherwise it would be weeks on end without a camping video. I was hoping to move to full frame next year but anyway, I'm just trying to get the few bob together.

    Nice cooking kit. We use a fire maple stove too. Have subbed, please take a minute to have a look at ours when you can, we're beginners but getting into it 😊
