- Pharrell vibing in the studio w/ NATASHA RAMOS ( www.myspace.com... ). I actually have the mp3 of this song and its a nice song but I think Pharrell sounded better on it in this video clip.

When Chad picks up the guitar and scratches those first few notes and Pharell just feeds off of it. These are the magic moments we live for..
I always come back to this video for more inspiration
kapone815 Yo you from Illinois?
Tayro RF Yep Rockford,IL but I live in Alabama now what made you ask me that?
I'm from Rockford too bruh. That 815 caught my eye
Yoitstayro _ Thats whats up fam I've met a few other people on here from Rockford not many though
yeah its rare...
Starting at 4:49, within the first 10 secs of Chad picking up and playing the guitar he finished the hook.
The Neptune synergy is crazy.
damn....i was thinkin the same
That was dope af!
Wasn’t even 10 secs!!!! Man I love them!!!!
chad is the goat but always gets overlooked. lol thats odd
He just came in and picked it up.
when pharrell starts singing at 2:50 it clearly is his song, his beat, his tune, its him all over. why he gave it to her is beyond me... it suits his voice
I have 1 branch with 2 cherries that can tell you the story
This was the first RUclips video I ever watched. Took forever to load but SO worth it.
Christopher Murray Justin Bieber, Kint Lloyd Siodina
😂😂😂
Honestly, it was one of my first RUclips vids too lol. My mine was blown. Oh how time flys
Mine too. It still amazes me watching Pharrell create magic line this. The best part is Chad walks in, picks up a guitar and immediately catches the vibe.
Lmfao I remember those “buffering” days!! The absolute worst!!!
I come to this video all the time
The same with me…..
Never get tired of this production... shit sounds so timeless.
Even though I love this song by Natasha, I wonder how Kelis would've been if this was for her instead. I can hear her soulful vocals on this... *sigh* this is the era I miss when it was THE NEPTUNES and not just Pharrell. 4ever Star Trak.
I talked to Natasha recently. She’s married and has a son. She seems happy
That's whats up
Tell her to promote her music.
@@richard123p She said she doesn’t make any music anymore which is unfortunate but I’m just glad she is doing well.
ahh Pharrell before the mountain ranger hat... how i miss these days
Folusho Holloway lmaaaao
I've never seen someone look more bored to have a genius producing fire for her right in front of her eyes!
Typical woman, doesn't care about anything other than wanting to be famous, won't even try to sing on the musical fire being produced when asked. Utterly ungrateful if you ask me, no wonder she didn't become a household name
Camera Man wanted that record more than her :-D
@@jonw8435 FR, Pharrell should’ve took the beat for himself. This would’ve fit perfectly with Kanye West, Aaliyah, Cassie, or Pharrell. And she ruined the beat once it was time to go in the studio to sing
@@wanilimbe True what the other guy said below as soon as chad comes in playing the acoustic guitar the hook is completed. Unbelievable synergy. Also very true, Kanye would tear this up, Justin too.
She's just letting the man do his job.... that's how it works. This video is only 9 minutes, they might've been there for at least 2-3 hours of Pharrell finding the notes and the idea. Thats exhausting!
I guess ppl have more time to hate than to enjoy. ✌🏼 Be safe and keep persuing yall dreams.
Here for my yearly visit. This is still therapeutic for me. So calming 😊
Michael Jackson and pharrell should have done an album together
+Underground Boombox Radio That's what I said. Michael should have gotten all of Timberlake's records written by Pharrell and it would have been his best album since bad.
QuadrantBottomHalf FACTS
that was pharrell's plan but Michael's team turned him down so that's how Justified was created
That would've been musical magic, too bad that collaboration never happened.
FLESH that’s wild - did not know that
Bye FAR the best studio clipe of the Neptunes EVA
every now and then I like to come back and listen to this
+Lance Thomas yeah, I find solace in this
2021 and this is how I vibe
@@newbmartin1 aint that the TRUTH!
Shows just how passionate Pharrell is when it comes to making music. He's making this for a nobody but he doesn't care, he puts his passion into every track he does. He loves it and deserves all he has..... Inspirational!!
This will never ever get old EVER
I wish Pharrell still made music like this.
He just did... with Brent & Drake 💪🏽
@@thedfferencetab1977 very similar but not anywhere as magical as this. Most of the Neptunes music now is cool little melodies with the 808 drum kits. They don’t really do the live drums anymore
@@taedagoat5105 They never did live drums doe
The last N.E.R.D album is all better than this tbh
@@klasse4311 they did with justified and their signature drums sounds back in the day are better than the 808 sounds now. for singers nowadays its 808 sounds too. Back in the day they damn near made music scores for Kelis and other singers
That rich piano sound and melody is so dope. He knows how to pair these elements well. You can actually feel the music's vibe.
wow.. pharrell wrote an amazing tune in the space of 10 minutes... much respect to this producer
Crazy if I can remember the first time I seen this I was 11 now I'm 21 that beat is still knocking ! 👏🏾
You will forever be iconic for this upload. I’ve listened to it since I was in middle school. I’m 27 now 🙏🏾💪🏾💙
I’m 29 same here 👌🏾
@@AkumaUzamaki Damn me too
I’m 29 same here lol since junior high been watching this same exact video and the one with Justin Timberlake
@@amberbanks6036 FACTS lol.
I’m about to hit 27 next month that’s crazy I remember my boy from Church showing me this video cause I wanted to play the piano when I was in middle school
This raw version sounds better
i thought i was the only one ...lol
I always felt that way. I also think 702 should have done this instead or kelis
nigga dont i know you from somewhere?
what's the name of this song ?
thaillistproducer Justin Bieber, Kint Lloyd Siodina
the way chad joins with the guitar omg....
one of the most underrated songs ever made.................
Pharell is the Steve jobs of music
+OhMyBooda Actually the new Quincy Jones.
@@QuadrantBottomHalf crzy how dis was said on revolt with Pharrell
2022 and I still come back to this!
I BEEN A FAN OF THIS SINCE 06
Still a fan?
Same here. I was in an entirely different place--in my life and geographically.
Still one of my favorite videos on youtube.
will never forget this one. a true gem
I miss the era of when pharell/neptunes produced 80% of everything out, it's what I grew up on *sigh
Neptunes still one of my favorite producers.
This video never gets old, I've been going back to it for inspiration for what feels like a decade
I spent half of my life looking at this video!
We deserve a pharell version of this diamond 💎
one of the best videos on youtube
pharrell killed this...shoulda kept it for himself honestly.
Agreed
Yes!
Yep, that bitch was whack
natasha ramos is amazing your buggin
@@ao9297 huh
How fucking lucky can one person be to be in studio with P and Chad!
i've been coming back to this video every 2 years since i was 12, im 25 now lmaoo thank you chad and pharell for all the inspiration you've given us
The people complaining about her behavior aren't musicians. There are some days where you are legit tired. That doesn't mean you don't appreciate the moment. Studio sessions can go on for hours sometimes. They are long nights. Now the phone thing idk cause he wrote the song I'm on my phone cause I'm writing lyrics. But just saying.
That, or she's probably just taking it all in and watching Pharrell doing his thing.
I would die for the opportunity to sing on a Pharrell track
RaeShelle Delvalle I hope you get that chance
Guys chill, she probably was legit tired. I mean the song is titled "Midnight Hour" Lol. Seriously though, the song altogether is great both on her end and Pharrell's. I'm just saying, never jump to conclusions and accuse people wrongly.
Sorry, as musician you have to be ready for midnight sessions, how tf do you expect to perform?
@@wanilimbe No, you don't lol. Not every musician functions on the same clock.
As an elite produce especially at that time.. your on Pharrells time 😂 all jks his aside never take any lifetime opportunities half Assed tired or not
Michael Jackson would have killed it
drake with another unreleased mj verse
Lonwabo Matross Bruh... MJ would’ve rejuvenated his career with this track. No exaggeration. His voice, his Adlibs and his smoothness would’ve put him back on the map for sure. Wonder why the Neptunes never reached out to him!! Damn man
@Love90 they did reach out to him and he rejected.. that’s when they gave the songs to Justin timberlake
@@Raaajix never knew that
@@Love-wp6ze It's not very far off the levels he reached in Invincible with 'Heaven can Wait' and 'Butterflies'.
If you have not fallen in love with Pharrell yet, this video will do it!!! It's my favorite RAW creation to see him in the making of a beautiful song that only his genius and sensuality seduces us to the very core of our being... 😍
Always comeback to this video. Been here since 2008
me too lol
She doesn’t sound bad in the final version.....but, I don’t think this was the song for her. A more seasoned artist could have done the track more justice.
Pharrell is such a GENIUS! Chad too!
I love Pharrell! He is so awesome!!!
Still one of my favorite videos of all time!! Years later and it still sounds amazing!
Every time I put on BBC, I be having this playing in my mind. Like its my theme music when I wear my Shit. I be feeling fresh as hell.
lmaoooo. i feel u
Yeah this song has been in my head since like 2003 when I heard it lol
Tahj Daniels I always listen to Pharrell when I'm wearing bape. Especially when I wear my old bapestas
You my friend are lit just because you still come here to listen to this masterpiece that was uploaded over a decade ago.
wish this was officially released…it’s too good…
It was but with her singing it check out Natasha Ramos Midnight Hour
I had to check this out after hearing the melody at the beginning on the actual song! I love the artistry!
is it strange that i even fuck with the sound the metronome makes? o.O
like, id use that shit IN the beat lol
This beat is so crazy. The joint was never big though. Va Beach Finest
You both obviously didn't spend sleepless nights in a studio, having to listen to the same song over and over and over again, repeating the same sections for hours. You can't just be like jumping around all the time, being totally excited, even if there is the best musicians with you in the studio.
Recording sessions are really, really exhausting.
Micheal Jackson would have been great for this track
now that i think of it , its true
Yeah I agree something about the piano melody and percs coming together
YOU KNOW THE JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE'S FIRST ALBUM WAS INTENDED TO BE FOR MICHAEL. PHARRELL WAS KNEW THAT ALBUM WAS MEANT FOR MJ. I HEARD HIM ALL OVER THAT ALBUM
There's a interview recently with the neptunes and justin timberlake and they acknowledge the album as still being the kings music. They are all so respectful of Michael because he was the best to them. We can blame the Arvizo family for ruining out chances of a collaboration. Michael and Pharrell were close in 2005. We would have had an unbelievable album that would have shattered records around 2007 but the molestation cases ruined Michael.
Facts MJ would have killed this
This guy can't do wrong... This video is so old but I never get tired of it
Dam if Pharrell produced a Michael Jackson album it would have been INCREDIBLE!
He tried with Justified. Record was turned down and given to Justin. Michael later regretted, of course.
@mike black That's the album title, 'INCREDIBLE'. Long awaited follow up to Invincible.
The beautiful girl in the video is the one singing the song Pharrell is producing and writing and her name is Natasha Ramos.
I remember when i first saw this 7 years ago. Pharrell is one of the very few artists of our time that inspire me to work hard in the studio!
before i knew what the neptunes was, what tyler the creator was, i came across this video and it was what inspired me to produce. i wasn't even a fan of pharrell at the time lol.
Piano riffs is "inspired" (hum...) by the introduction of Stevie Wonder's Overjoyed
that's exactly what I thought overjoyed a timeless gem
+Dias4815162342 Nope. Its a straight interplay of Chic - Sao Paulo.
I can hear both as being an influence
i've watching this video since 06, all time favorites!!
Great to see Pharrells happy face at 7:13: "How crazy is that!"
Off The Wall smile
i remember seeing this when i was younger. i wonder what ever happened to the artist and this song, still fire to this day.
This was truly one of the first RUclips videos that I not only viewed but, instantly vibed with like I was in the room. I would love to work with Pharrell. Can we bring back the good ole Neptune days?
I wish! This is was such a great time for me personally with music. I used to religiously look up Neptunes beats. They had such a distinct and classic sound that till this day is unmatched.
I could listen to this all day.
it very difficult not feeling a song like this. these guys were playing in the studio. pharrell is a G.O.A.T
Shawty doesnt even have a clue whar greatness is in front of her..he is amazin
+Jason Rigone Everybody knows Pharrell is a genius thats why they work him.
He should have kept the instrumental exactly like this.
I came back here just because of the pharell and chad beef. These guys are legends. Squash the beef 😢💪🏽
Pharrell was so so so good that time. SO pure His beats everything. Its like he sold his soul he so so changed also his music. Its nothing compare 16 years ago
It’s 2019 and I’m still listening to this for inspiration.
2021
pharrell probably would have made this song a hit if he sang it
jon jones he would make it a hit for sure
Been had this video saved after 13 years this is still amazing
listening to this 6 years and 4 days after. I still love it!
This video still pisses me off since 2002/03 when it came out! 1st off Pharrell should have just sang this song and 2nd it always bothered me how Natasha was so whatever in this video.....get off the phone and vibe with the brotha damn! Lol ok....its been 10 yrs and clearly I'm still not over it
None of us are over it... but we all love this video. I'll be coming back listening to this in 2042.
You can tell why she didn’t make it. She just didn’t have that type of passion.
hanan sweety (notice it didnt go)
Let is go sis, let it go.
She was annoying tho lowkey.
I love how Pharrell just got into his zone and was focused on his beat.
Yeah, Tasha was lil disrespectful in my eyes. Regardless, we also don't know if Pharrell is a "control freak" in the studio. That's probably how his creative flow is and once started he won't stop until he done. So she had lil input basically.
Nonetheless, sick beat, sick producer, sick song.
I watched this in high school all the time. she was clearly overwhelmed lol
He just keeps doing his thing. Not bothered or even thinking the surrounds are not with him. He’s a total optimist and pro life!
In the midnight hour!!!!
Jashon Ayres 🙌🏾
Can P release this himself...I’ve been listening to this all week
That shit so fun you can see it on his face
I'm back. For those saying she looks uninterested. This woman has wrote for ppl that y'all like. She's wrote some big hits. 2nd she's an artist that's in the studio with Pharrell trying to make a hit. Some artists who write just don't have the talent for the front.
Everyone talking about Natasha not saying anything ?!
F**k that, let the producer make the beat. If someone was constantly talking to me non stop while I was trying to chop a sample or program drums, id lose concentration.
If you bring your car to a mechanic, let the man do his job. He dont want you to be distracting him while he is under a car, let him do his job.
Thanks.
Good point
+Akaimayn Exactly. When you work with Pharrell the record is already done so the artists only has to come and lay vocals.
yeah let's just talk on the phone right next to Pharrell when he's trying to create music. Really appropriate
the beat was already done he was just singing to it so what are you talking about? foh goofy if anything you should be getting at Pharrell for having the music on singing while she's on the phone
She was there to contribute or else she would not have been invited in the studio. Clearly, she was not on her A game and blew a rare opportunity at stardom. Her annoying manager was more invested than she was. LoL! I hope she is doing something she actually loves now.
Social media has finally caught up to this travesty...lol! I still love this song...
Was it posted on his ig?
Haha
The female is beautiful and is sitting there patiently as Pharrell do what he does best.
whenever i want to have a good vibe i come back to this video every time
Amazing to have access to this footage of his creative process.
deadass watch this video once a week.
Sometimes I just gotta come back to this video and appreciate a master at work! 🖖🏾
I use to watch this video when i was like 17 here i am 28 i still love this video
I'm still here in Wooooooooooooo 2018
True talent, the producer creating the beat, writing the hook while the ‘artist’ sits there saying nothing.
I love the way pharrell and chad sorta influence each other with out even talk. u see how chad walkes in, picks up the guitar and starts playina nd then as hes playin pharrell gets the melody he lookin 4? that was dope!
right, exactly, for me it's that part. they're chemistry is thru the roof.
yeah this controls what kind of day i'm gonna have. i start my day watching this vid early in the morning and nothing can bring me off the high i get from this clip.
watching genius unfold before our eyes.
Pharrell not trying to be rude to the cameraman even though he’s burning everyone out 😬
SHE ANSWERED HER PHONE. DURING THIS.
people don't know how blessed they are.
he even left that in the final mix: "hello?"
I love this song! I really like this studio version better!
You can really get a sense of how passionate he is about creating in this video. Inspiration on 10.💯💯🖤🖤
Ok I’m back with another comment after 4 yrs from my previous post lol. I cannot believe I watched this vid 14 years ago....I’m still mad lol but it’s ok. I honestly honestly honestly think Pharrell can still do justice to this song! With all the old school hits coming back I petition for Pharrell to make this song what it should have been! U hear me?! Lol I’m actually surprised this hasn’t happened already! But I’m here and I’m sure like many others for this to happen 🙌🏾 “I hooooope u read every line” lol
Pharrell Williams tunes were my mainstay video searches in 2006 for sure. I used to exhaust the 'Pop it like its Hot' video and the 'Can I have it like That' video.
