While the specs haven't changed much for this model vs the older 6 Pro, you still get an absolutely premium gaming handset for a great mid-range cost. That Snapdragon 888 Plus platform blazes through the most demanding Android games, even on top detail settings. The Red Magic 6S Pro does get a little toasty with Genshin Impact, but the internal fan helps to keep things as cool as possible to avoid throttling.

In theory this is the phone that should have me salivating. It's about the power and the screen. Not having any (many) other vices and since Christmas is almost upon us I can both afford it (if I don't eat anything but rice for a month or three) and justify it (it's my Christmas [Yule, I'm a pagan] present to myself). Sadly I suffer from mind numbing bouts of practicality (not even sure that's a word and if it is it shouldn't be) and I understand that it would be wasted on me.
Having owned up to my fallibilities your unboxing and first look were done well, as usual, and the phone seems to live up to it's advertising. Brilliant screen, processing & graphics power. Nifty gaming customisation. High refresh rate. Excellent sampling rate. Head phone jack. Ticks most of the right boxes for a gaming phone. People who have time, money, and reflexes should love it.

This is probably the coolest phone i have ever seen, a proper gaming phone with incredible features and specs. And it doesn't look to bad either! This is much better than any Samsung phone will ever be.

How is the Red Magic 6 after the buzz? I have read that the phone gets bricked after an update, and the company have not been the best to respond to the issues!
So far touch wood mine's fine, it's a shame to hear their customer support hasn't been great though. I'll keep an eye on it!

The red magic 6 pro had an aluminium back. it was supposed to be an extra layer of the ICE cooling system. compared to the red magic 6 glass back, it seemed to indeed helps the pro version to stay cooler. how does this one perform? could you go deeper in the 7.0 ICE cooling system of this 6 s pro version. does the glass back hurt the heat management? also no more RGD light on the back? is the 6s pro display brighter and better for playing outdoor? is the camera bad because of the software (then using another app would helps) or because of the sensor? what are the other key differences with the 6 pro ? could you compare the two? regards

The choice between red magic and ROG gaming phones is getting more difficult
I love the review . It is impressive phone but I have a serious question about if you have been able to install Netflix and any other streaming service app like Disney plus or amazon prime etc .. ?

I ended up buying the 6s pro Ghost :D very happy with it but I do miss the better battery life of the ROG.
My ROG phone 2 died yesterday. I was waiting for the ROG 6 as I heard ROG 5 had major issues. But Since my phone died, I had no choice but to upgrade now and ended up getting this over the ROG 5. I think it was the right decision.

Haha yes, I manually added that - the auto thumbnails are tiny and rubbish, and Himeko was one of the only pre-installed options that you could choose that seemed vaguely appropriate!

Does anybody know if the snapdragon 888+ ends up using more battery than the 888? Is it efficient in the sense that it down throttles if there is no need for the overclocking? Thinking of getting the 6s pro but worried battery performance might be worse than the base model.
@Cylant Justice that's reassuring to know cus I noticed my 6s battery was speeding down pretty hard. I did a battery drain test using Netflix in airplane mode (matched brightness volume off) to compare to the 5s. Both phones lasted the same duration but with data on the 5s lasts longer with daily use.

Why every time in every review you have dark mode on.you can't see a shit in dark mode, not bezels or how display generally looks on white background...
Because 99.9% of people who get this phone will have dark mode on. There's literally minutes of footage of me playing games etc where you can clearly see the bezels, not sure why this is an issue?
This isnt the pro version. Pro is only one that comes 16gb.

It's a world 3rd class gaming phone. 2 days before i bought the ghost global version. I start playing the game in half-game device increase speed automatically my pubg .. I never touch anything never use any interface this is only a device error and this cheap device is only 750 dollars.. I got banned for more than worth 5000 dollars from my account of pubg. I'm openly offering to company inquiry on it and they can claim copyright on me if I'm wrong or lie. don't play pubg if you have an expensive id .. this device does not deserve

@Cylant Justice I mean they support only only 1 year updates after one year passed you can't get more android updates and security updates but on the flagship phones you get 5 year updates, gaming phones not only about the ram and storage and performance and cooling system they need to understand that what gaming phones need? 4k display or 2k least, beautiful design it's not a pc to put that rgb and ugly things just try to keep it normal like other phones , 3 year at least updates, and last thing is excellent cameras, if all that terms meet it can be the ultimate device
