They sound very similar but you can definitely tell the difference. Hiei has a lower tone and you can hear his constant contempt for others. Where as 17 just sounds cocky as hell. Which fits his character
fans don't get subtly that goes into acting which is why they can't be actors...thank goodness for the real actors these idiot fans who think they can do the job because they want to or see abridge series going into the interviews yet they can't act so they dont know how to change a voice ...especially small changes like when a character may age a little and how a small change can sound different for those of us listening for that change knowing the character has aged so it should be different yes we hearing for it can tell but average fans cant tell like in naruto the last movie naruto is clearly 19 so he sounds a little more mature its subtle but you can tell the actress who played him was told to age him up slightly less awkward kiddy rasp more confidence ......if I told a dragonball z english fan that goku aka sean voiced the teacher mr. akashi in the first 3 episodes of yu yu hakusho the rat looking teacher kuzuma makes a promise with they would hear his voice and say that sounds nothing like goku your lying as if people can only have one voice but if I showed them another clip of a similar sounding character they would say yes it sounds like goku thats him..smdh.......sure 17 and hiei heck even hiro even garlic jr.. voices may be similar but their motivations and tones are different in how they speak the cadence and patterns are different totally...its subtle....ask nadolny about that..gohan and goku have the same voice in theory but she made it so gohan sounds more like a toddler innocent but smarter and goku spoke more like a normal kid less sheltered more free flowing random in tone barbaric wild older teen not so kiddy since he was older than gohan even if she voiced him after gohan which is weird but remember teen gohan was younger when he beat cell about age 11 then goku was at the start of the series when bulma finds him in ep 1 almost 12............@@silverblade43

Man... If you grew up as a idk 10-12 year old when Yu Yu was coming out you were literally torn apart by it. You were JUST beginning to understand human emotion, understand empathy, understand love, and Yu Yu brought it out of you hard. The scene with Yusuke in the cave... Toguro and Genkai... Keiko and Yusuke.. and so so so much more. Just imagine going through that transition in life, you're becoming more aware of what it means to be human, and bam Toguro speaks to Genkai for the last time... Just man, it hit so hard...
One of the best English Dubs of all time; right next to Death Note and Cowboy Bebop. This cast is so iconic, when I watched YYH: Poltergeist Report I was thrown for a loop when the Cast was completely different for the English dub. That film desperately needs a redub
They're Funimation DVD boxed set of the final arc called The Saga of The Three Kings Uncut. It's only the final disc that has commentary, all the others only have, like, character profiles and textless songs as the special features.
