Shiny Mega Gengar is EXACTLY what his real shiny should be.
I know Gamefreak and Nintendo are probably worried to change already existing shiny Pokemon just for the sake of keeping consistency, but if they just randomly decided shiny Gengar was white like the Mega literally nobody would be upset.
Plus, that means more merch for them to sell
@@cultofmel im pretty sure the only reason people even get shiny gengar is to flex it. Nobody cares about the shiny for how it looks cuz its the same as normal gengar, same with garchomp.
They changed combusken's shiny in sword and shield so it isn't impossible, but I don't think it's likely gengar's will be changed@@cultofmel

Because it is, the Gengar line was the only ghost type in Gen 1 and it didn't really get any competition until Gen 5.
The fact shadow tag was so oppressive players tried using Skill swap or even WORRY SEED to try and not get trapped against it.

Mega Gengar... How do I say this... Yeah is one of the most dangerous Pokemon ever created. Not just in a lore standpoint where it wishes nothing but evil intentions on everyone even its owner, but in competitive Pokemon.
For those who are not competitive players lemme explain. Shadow Tag is a death sentence to most Pokemon because if you make one move, you could get your Pokemon Encore'd into a useless move like a setup move, and not be able to switch out, all while Gengar sets up on you instead, then proceeds to wipe you clean because you cant deal with a 130 speed special attacking monster, who btw also has access to priority moves, more statuses than a hospital, and a special attack high enough to choke a Blissey.
We should be thankful that Sludge Wave and Shadow Ball, technically Hex too, are the only strongest Stab attacks it gets due to the lack of a high damage low accuracy special move for Ghost and Poison. Gengar is far to dangerous on its own with all its tricks to receive such a move.
Could you imagine if Gengar got a move like this? "Malevolent Wail," Ghost type special attack, base power 130, accuracy 85, PP 5, sound based. 30% chance to lower the target's Attack by one.

The one thing Like about facing against Gengar is predicting earthquake as on when it will mega or not and if you guess incorrectly he would get a free move off and then he mega next turn out speed and knock out your pokemon, ha ha.
I never did understand why gengar is as fast as he is, with or without mega.
I mean, he's a ghost that weighs as much as air, I assume he can easily breeze through/teleport to any location or whatevs.

Fun fact: Blissey has never been better than chansey before heavy duty boots due to eviolite chansey being bulkier. despite that, in gen 6 Ubers, Blissey is used to to it being able to bypasses shadow tag from gengar when holding shed shell

Firstly, Gengar is my favorite pokemon. Second, im STILL salty over Gengar losing levitate. Thirdly, mega gengar is broken because of shadow tag. Lastly, i agree with most of the comments saying regular form shiny gengar should have had a white color, though i still love the regular form's shiny still.

Gengar can learn encore, substitute, and perish song. Combine that with shadow tag and you have a busted strategy
