No Steve, it's not the end of the movie. The actor (Ranveer Singh) plays the role of the Sultan of Delhi: Allauddin Khilji (12th century AD). He is just celebrating some occassion but at the end of the song there is an assassination attempt by his ministers supported by some members of his family.
P.S : And yes he survives the attack so the attacker doesn't get the whole dance floor to himself as Tom said in the video.😉

It’s a really interesting historical story. I liked the movie because it has amazing visuals. However I thought it was a drag. Many scenes in the movie are pretty awesome and gives you goosebumps, especially the last scene.

It's great that you guys did this video on film "padmavati". It's a really great Bollywood production and I hope you have seen it after making this video.
In case if you haven't, the guy in the song is Ranveer Singh and he is playing the antagonist, the real life character of Allahuddin Khilji, a ruler of Dehli sultanate in early 14th century. He invades Rajasthan in persue of a beautiful Rajput queen Rani Padmavati. But he can't have her since the Rajputs resist him fiercely and force him back to Delhi.
The song represents his frustration and loneliness for not being successful in his venture for love.

It would interest you to know that most of the costumes from this movies are approx 7-12kgs(i.e.14-24lbs) and do watch the whole movie with subtitles and you would love it as this story is from rajasthan where many peoples still worship rani padmavati(queen padmavati).
In this movie, he (Alauddin Khilji) was villain..he was celebrated party in this song...so, dance is also choreograph like villain type...

The song is about the (Pashtun/Afghan) invaders who established the Delhi Sultanate in the 14th Century. The person in the video is the Sultan or King. They where after taken over by other central asian peoples who came from Uzbekistan.

They do remind you of the band of forty thieves and their cave in this song..........but seriously, the movie is set in the 13 th century and the person depicted here is the emperor Allauddin Khilji ( a real historical figure) who was the ruler of Delhi in India and presided over a huge empire! He was a cruel ,Tyrannical albeit a capable ruler and administered the kingdom with an iron hand !I would seriously recommend this movie to you , for its brilliance in set designs, costumes and cinematography! The actors were par excellence in this movie! Even the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali ( whom you so disliked 😅😅) is truly at par with some of the best in the world)!! Happy viewing!!
