- Harry is having difficulties with his asthma again after three nights in a row of performing - One Direction in London on 6/8/2014
Despite Harry's health, he continues to entertain millions across the world. Asthma is a very common condition and affects each person differently, and is typically very manageable.
Everyone has challenges in their life, whether they are physical, mental, emotional, environmental, etc. I hope these videos help to inspire people to push beyond their limitations and pursue their dreams. Show kindness to others and make a positive impact on the world.

The amount of respect i have for harry. Ive had asthma all my life and it is not easy. I can barely talk. Its coughing, wheezing and hard time breathing! Truly incredible
He's a rock star :) Hope you're staying well.
It is very good to sing as an asthmatic 😊
@@MalinEkman96 Someone else mentioned that in one of my other videos as well. I’m sure he has amazing breath control, which helps.
Sounds like you need a new Dr for your uncontrolled asthma. You shouldn't have daily symptoms.
@@AS-yz2iz thanks for the concern but i dont have daily asthma. Ive had asthma all my life. But it doesnt mean its daily. I do see the confusion in what i said. I do, however, have an amazing doctor who listened to me and i think she deserves a lot of credit!
Poor Harry and yet he continued to sing for the crowd🥺🥺
He never stopped...
Yet he continued to spread covid to the crowd.....dude needs a covid test..
.all sweaty and clammy looking
@@AL-vz7rz this was wayyyy pre-covid
@@MyMindMood loaded 3 weeks ago..how am I to know....not a fan...just seen someone coughing out a lung...
@@AL-vz7rz covid wasn’t ‘around’ then
Harry is so selfless
Ignored his health and continued singing
This professional is something to get inspiration from
He cares about his fans and his performing a lot.
He's doing well now
@@chefandmusician9170 His two shows this week prove he is feeling really good. The good news is that he hasn't been very sick during his solo career, so cheers to that!
My Mind Mood yippeeeeeeeeee
I disagree. He has a target audience that is a younger crowd and we need to teach people to take care of their health and not push themselves until they have a medical emergency. I have nothing against Harry Styles and I am sorry he has asthma but a person should always stop and care for themselves when they aren't feeling well. He is no good to anyone if he passes away and asthma can sometimes be very dangerous. There is another video of him apparently experiencing chest pain while on stage. I think he is pushing himself too hard and not worrying about himself enough and those aren't good lessons for fans that look up to him. I would rather be at a concert and have the singer take a break and me have to wait than find out something happened to him because he didn't wanna stop performing for his fans because he didn't want them to be disappointed and as kind as that is, it's unwise and possibly very dangerous. That is why I disagree though. I definitely think he cares about his fans but his health absolutely needs to come first and it could be bad if he inspired someone to ignore their own health and just keep working because they wanna be more like Harry Styles and think that's what it takes to work hard.
PS - I love your name is Priyanka. I am American and it isn't a common name here and I think it's absolutely beautiful. You're only the second person I have heard of with the name, the first one is famously known Priyanka Chopra. 🙂
This era was brutal on those boys. The schedule was insane, they barely stopped to breathe (literally). Watching Zayns weight decline rapidly, the injuries each boy would have. What a shit time for them looking back
I know. It’s painful sometimes to look back and see how overworked they were and how their physical and mental well-being was compromised. By the end of 2015, they were really worn down.
@@MyMindMood I had asthma when I was little and I still have it ✌🏻
Seems like all young groups from Take That and the Spice Girls to now all suffer from these relentless schedules, having had these huge expectations put on them from an early age, physically and mentally exhausting them.
His asthma was caused by hay fever at the time.
I have some mad respect for this man. The last attack I had turned into a panic attack that landed me in the hospital, and I was just at home chilling with friends. Imagine going through that in front of thousands of people and just being so casual about it. What a fucking legend
He holds it together somehow. It’s pretty crazy
I had a real bad asthma attack it landed me in ICU. I can't even imagine doing what he did. He Truly Loves his fans
Harry is suffering from an asthma attack onstage but he still kept on singing and performing for their 1D fans thank God he is okay though he should have brought his inhaler during the concert my wife is a big fan of Harry and 1D
Yes, glad he is ok
Funny how his sister Gemma said he doesn't have asthma. Sometimes when people have a cold, it can affect their airways, and they may need an inhaler temporarily.
@@AS-yz2iz Where did she say that? Cause everywhere I'm searching it all says he does have it
You can see where she says it here in my other video: ruclips.net/video/ySDtoL2zPTY/видео.html
@ItsaWildMaki She said it in a live Q & A years ago. The video is still on Twitter somewhere.
This only shows how professional he is .and how much it means to him to perform and not disappoint his fans even though he obviously needs rest . Love him
He loves performing- that’s for sure.
Poor Harry... I know next to nothing about asthma but my friend who has it told me it must be quite frightening and hard to keep singing while you have an asthma attack:(
He seems to deal with it well given the circumstances
It could have killed him if he kept straining his lungs and didn't medicate. I've had to go to the ER more than once for asthma attacks. I think he should've 'broken character' and gotten his inhaler sooner, in cases like this there IS such a thing as too much dedication. I didn't know he had asthma, poor guy. Hopefully nothing worse like COPD (the lung disease I have which gives me asthma attacks).
He’s quite secretive about his health (I think it’s just his personality). He always just carries on. I’m sure he knows his body well. Hope you’re staying healthy.
It’s terrifying, without your inhaler you genuinely feel like you’re going to die. You cannot breathe at all, he handles it so well, my first time having one I panicked and nearly passed out. He’s brave and strong
@@Gymtoshi It must be terrifying I’m sorry to hear you’ve had to deal with that. Not sure how Harry does what he does.
Thanks for making these videos, quite eye opening, I watched these same videos for the past six months and didn’t see the stress and difficulty he was dealing with. Now I understand why they stopped at end of 2015.
Sometimes the bigger picture helps to get the whole story
Poor Harry he’s been dealing with some pretty hard stuff on stage we should be appreciative that he’s still able to sing
❤️
I was there I remember this day so clearly cannot believe it’s been 8 years in a matter of days, bless him though
That must have been so fun to see him in concert! I am more of a fan of solo Harry Styles, but definitely like looking back on the younger 1D days. Time does fly though.
The respect I have for this man in unmeasurable
❤️
I love him, the fact that he had an asthma attack but still carried on for his fans is just amazing
Pretty incredible
Brave guy! Those attacks aren't no joke. He was probably feeling it a little before he went on stage and figured he could power through it.
I think you're right
Omg I feel this to my core. As someone with asthma, Sometimes you just push through whatever you’re doing.
Yeah, it’s uncomfortable to watch him struggle. Hope you’re staying healthy!
This is why it’s ok for singers to lip sync at concerts sometimes and they should never be judged for it
Health problems like Asthma can be extremely dangerous and can be affected by things like singing, dancing, talking etc.
We really need to respect celebrities more
👍
He’s Human just like the rest of us. They deserve to look after their health

Got so much respect and love for him! He's had a couple rough shows with sickness and general health struggles but he just powers on where many would give up!! So proud of all the boys but especially harry🤍

I look up to this man…such a down to earth human being….he never even talked about his asthma…..huge respect for this man

I like how although he was in pain and coughing alot he still put it together and didn’t show that anything was wrong ❤️❤️ HES AMAZING
That’s how Harry always does it, even on the present tour.
I really could never I’ve had asthma my whole life and it limits what I can do but he kept trying because he loved what he was doing❤

I didn't know Harry suffers with asthma. Still we know he lived to tell the tale.
@Emma Kirk - He does, and he still performs his heart out
He doesn't, Gemma has said before, he had childhood asthma which you out grow
You can see our discussion of this in my other videos
@@Heyyyy_World Well can't have grown out of it if he has an attack live on stage... mine got better too but after covid came back i think she means it was controlled
@@StarDemz we don't know that was an attack, he could have just had a cold or a chest infection
Harry is too beautiful for this world.

Gemma once said he only had asthma as a baby so I think he probably was ill and having chest pains. Crazy that he continued the show🙏
@scielly - You can see my response to Gemma's comment here: studio.ruclips.net/user/videoyNcLWIBxVdY/comments/inbox?filter=%5B%5D
I feel harry and his family initially didnt let the management know how bad his asthma was for fear of being dropped from the contract if they thought he could become a liability… but later on when 1D blew up the management had no choice but to deal with it… maybe thats why initially gemma tried to cover it up… cuz such severe asthma cannot just start overnight… and seeing how well he was able to hide it over the years its a testament to the fact that he has been doing it for years and is a pro at managing his symptoms
asthma can go away and come back, mine did. no symptoms for years
@@ashleyrobinson539 yes makes sense… no wonder they felt so much freedom when they went on the haitus
If he has an inhaler, it’s because he has at least mild persistent asthma.
poor harry he deserves the world he is so selfless he sang and sang with his asma

This is why i you we love him....the dedication is unbeatable 💚💚💚
It is! Yea
The fact that he carried on for his fans and his band...

True performer. Hope he will be better
He’s doing better now!
THAT IS THE SADDEST THING IVE EVER BLOODY SEEN. IJ LITERALLY CRYING. I LOVE HARRY
It sucks. But glad he’s doing well now 😊
A lot of people say that it is professional what Harry did, that he just continued singing. But really, I don't think it is. You should never, NEVER, put your career or something like that over your health. You can die of Asthma, believe me, I had to learn it the hard way. So he should've just left the stage for a few minutes and then come back, then continue singing for idk how long. But I still have mad respect to Harry for holding on.
It’s crazy how he continues to sing and smile even when he’s struggling
As a childhood asthmatic, you never really stop gaslighting yourself into thinking it'll be fine. I could be full on wheezing thinking it'd pass and everyone freaking out. When you're older, you don't wheeze as much and it took a while for me to get used to recognizing the signs .
I suspect everyone knows their body, and I hope H does too. Hope you’re doing good!
@@MyMindMood yes. I imagine he's much more confident about it by now as symptoms decline as you get older and he knows the signs/ importance more. As for me , I'm fine. I went for quite a while with no bronchitis , prolonged flare ups, etc. Moving to a pollen wasteland hasn't been great but nothing like when I was a kid. I have other health problems that are serious so I stay on top of the allergies /asthma thing. Hope you are as well!
Glad to hear your asthma has calmed down as you got older. That’s not the case for everyone. Some ppl develop it as an adult, or it even becomes worse as they age….and some ppl do get better as well.
Thank you Niall!! They all care about each other, so sweet!!!❤
❤️
Wow Harry will do anything for anyone he is so responsible and kind!
I don’t know if letting him perform while so I’ll was ‘responsible’ but he is always dedicated to his fans for sure.
I know what it is like to be in his shoes. I am 12,a talented singer, and a mild to severe asthmatic. I also play sports. This is very stressful and this is one of the various reasons why Harry is my inspiration for everything
❤️ Stay well!
Harry needs to put his health first, fans would totally understand if they feel compassion for his suffering and if some don't then it's tough, health always has to come first.
👍
The fact he tries to hide it from everyone to make it seem like hes okay. Thats what I do with my anxiety i try to hide the panic attacks just so i appear to be okay.
He does seem to hide it a lot, and I think a lot of ppl do that with their challenges.
harry is such a great person hopefully after he felt better
He’s seems to be doing well now
He’s an amazing artist 🥺
Agree!
This made me cry how he powered through it i love Harry ❤😢
❤️
Poor Harry Asthma is a nightmare, I have a son same age with it. I applaud Harry for trying to continue as normal when his lungs are collapsing. But health is more important than finishing a song. Should have taken few mins off stage for 2 hard puffs of inhaler then return when lungs allow you to breath.
Agree, he should’ve taken a break off stage. Hope your son is doing well.
He did a fantastic job in hiding it as well. I bet the vast majority wouldn't even have noticed.
I don’t think they noticed at all. The problem was that in his hiding it, he wasn’t taking the medication properly.
Not surprising Niall and Harry had a thing for one another. Get better Harry.
👍
Ur videos are awesome actually… and Harry is incredible… whats amazing to me is that during this time he was struggling everyday in every show… how were his bandmates and management allowing him to perform like this… i mean i find watching this 3 min video painful to watch and these guys were living him knowing how much discomfort he was in…and the others perform around him like nothings happening when a guy is literally dying next to them… jesus
Thanks for the compliment! I agree - they should have postponed the tour at that point. I get the feeling that Harry downplays it though.
@@MyMindMood ur absolutely right…they shouldve postponed the dates….maybe Harry does downplay it for us…but how can he downplay it for the people who spend 24 hours a day with him…how can the crew management the other boys not see how much he was suffering…just breaks my heart….and from the looks of it his asthma isn’t mild or negligible or such…its quite severe from what I can see and it needed to be taken care of …managed better…he was what 18 or 19 c’mon…if I was on his band I would put his well being first…I think these issues went on for quite sometime…btw ur research and commentary is exceptional
Clearly he wasn’t dying. He knows and listens to his body, lifelong asthmatics know how to handle the issue. If his shoulders were really hunched up, that’s how you know breathing is under duress. His inhaler did the trick and he probably had more treatment afterwards…
No, he's not in severe distress here, although he looks distressed the day prior. I honestly think he'd keep performing until they had to carry him off.
@@thetannaree yeah I meant dying figuratively…its just hard seeing him like this that’s all…I believe these things could hv been and should hv been avoided by giving him some rest…I am pretty sure when ur going through an asthma flare up singing wont help u the least bit.
But the good thing is that he didn’t die! ❤😊
Thank god
That fake smoke is an instant trigger of mine, soon as the machines go on, immediate asthma attack!

He does. He cares a lot about his fans. But sometimes I feel like he needs to care more for himself too.
@@MyMindMood I totally agree
I feel for him i also feel out of breath sometimes and it is annoying

I don’t understand why he didn’t keep his inhaler on him at all times ... as a lifelong asthmatic who has severe allergies, I don’t know how Harry kept performing and singing! I’m in awe of his dedication to the fans and 1D, because it doesn’t feel good to struggle to breathe! Yet H always had that “The show must go on” mentality and still does! He puts the professional commitment first! Love ya Harry😽💚♥️
Thanks for the perspective. He's an amazing entertainer. I wish you well in your health.
@@MyMindMood - Thank you💕It’s not as bad as when I was a child and I took allergy shots until I was 21 ... but I died at 5 from an anaphylactic reaction to grape juice! Obviously, they brought me back! lol ... I always carry my EPI pen and inhaler in my bag!😽
An inhaler doesn’t really fit in those tight pants.
Any attack caught on cameras was probably pretty chaotic. Once the attack starts it's hard to think and then if you're a scattered person distracted by everything it's a lot. A couple of weeks ago I had one right when I woke up and couldn't find one at home. I walked next door half dressed to grab the one I keep at my nanas bc I knew where it was. It was hard to walk but better than waiting any longer .I also have back issues so dropping things is an issue. I found like 3 right next to bed on the nightstand later. I think I need a box in every room that's mounted. And a pocket only for the inhaler. It didn't bother me for a while but lately the weather has been a huge trigger.
Either on him or somewhere where he could easily grab it and not have to 'ask' for it.
Harry needs to use an inhaler before he goes on stage and then again mid concert. I hope he is on a long term daily inhaler and then a rescue inhaler like Proair! I’m an RN and a asthma suffer so I know how he feels! I hope he has a medical person on tour with him too! Love you Harry, take good care of yourself! @harrystyles
As an RN as well, I see there was some room for improvement with his health back then. I think he's doing better now.
@@MyMindMood I agree, he seems to have it under better control!
His continuing to sing is actually helping him

Man….It’s so hard to be a singer when you suffer from asthma. When I used to do gigs for the family band, my dad would just give me cough drops and thought it did the trick and blame me for not taking care of myself. Sigh it’s a rough life. Harry needs that nebulizer.
Hopefully you have a good handle on it nowadays....and perhaps still singing?
When you can't breath... nothing else matters..

This definitely hits close to home. My asthma has been pretty unpredictable these past 2 years after i got a certain Shot 💉 my asthma suddenly hit the same night that was in April 2022 its August 2024 and I'm still dealing with wheezing breathing trouble low volume in my voice. I'm more inhaler dependent to. I tell you Asthma is no joke you can be fine one minute the next minute you are wheezing and on the ground struggling to breath pretty scary stuff. But I'm taking it day by day and will continue. I try not to let asthma get in the way of my life and my work. Stay strong to those who are facing the same thing. We are all in this battle together

OMG! This reminds me of one of the times I was teaching the missionary story in a club and in the middle of it I couldn’t breath very well cause I would have to wear a mask because of COVID and I am VERY claustrophobic and One of my friends knew this and could tell I was short of breath and he went up there like he was meant to but it was completely improv and took my place telling the story so I could go to the back ( AKA behind the daycare bookshelf’s ) and try to calm my self down, I was like full blown panic attack. He and I are still friends to this and I couldn’t ask for anyone better.

I am asthmatic and I feel the pain with him. As long as you don't inhale, your lungs will hurt at some point.
😔
Sometimes if you have a cold or a flue, the doctor's give you astma medication. That doesn't meen that you have asthma. Harry always had trouble with his voice in 1D and he still does have it, but not as much as in 1D. He has learnt how to rest and use his voice better.
He has def learned how to not strain his voice. You can tell he doesn’t belt notes out like he used to and takes more breaks in between shows. He has been using asthma meds his whole life, so I’m fairly certain it’s chronic asthma.
Why does Gemma say he doesn't have asthma and how would we know he's had it all of his life ?
We wouldn’t know if he’s had it his whole life, it he obviously has had it based on his symptoms. Even recent shows have showed him having some breathing difficulties.

That's why you need to use inhaler 30 minutes before doing any activities. That's moat likely EIA since dancing around...
Could be exercise-induced, but I believe he has more problems with the weather/seasons than anything.
