Seen Lonesome George several times. He doesn't have all the lasers or video screens or pyrotechnics, but still one of the best rock and roll concerts you'll ever find.
my grandmother carried a pint of "Grand-dad" in her big 'ol purse.....(back in the '70's) she's been gone for many years now....I wish I could have talked with her as an adult....love yer channel And Asia;s
This is probably my favorite George Thorogood song. The guy in the song just don’t care! He’s drinking alone with his good buddy Wiser, Jack and Jim, Johnny Walker and his bros, and his old Grandad! The guitar and the Sax are downright nasty too. Just a jam all around.
It fits with the tradition of blues to proudly declare one's sins and pains, the things that make your life difficult, and seeking happiness by singing the blues.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers have an amazing sound. My friends and I used to drink and party to their music all the time!!! Please react to Steelheart...Can't Stop Me Loving You. The band is great and his vocals are amazing!!
Got to see George in Milwaukee he was in the crown and played a few before he went on stage anyway I love you both but Asia is beautiful stay solid yall ✊🤝
Great reaction I've seen George 5 times puts on a good show. He has an extended version to this where he says I have a pet in my penthouse he's not a poodle or pony just a little wild turkey
When this song came out, I knew it was written for me. You could always find me in a pool hall by myself, back corner table, blues on the Jukebox, Jim Beam on tap... just me and the bartender.... that is all I ever needed ;-)
*MOVE IT ON OVER* my first introduction to George. One Canadian summer in the 80s, every case of Beer sold included a free George Thorogood music single - *GET A HAIRCUT* ; and I still have that free CD!
Y'All were feelin' that one...Especially you Asia! That is what George is all about! You go Baby.... ha! HA! :-) I've seen him several times, and he sounds just like that live. He just announced his tour. Y'All should see him if you can. Be Good Young People and Enjoy Your Lives!
Driving my 18 wheeler back home to Ft. Worth after being out for a few weeks, I jam George Thorogood "GEAR JAMMER" !!! Check it out. Also love, WHO DO YOU LOVE
I've listened to this song for years, since the 1980s, but only just found out that Grandad is a type of heavy bourbon! Or so I read just now. Maybe our US cousins can confirm? (I'm from the UK). If so then George T did a very clever finish to that song lyric where it could be about drinking with with actual Grandad, or yet another type of alcohol added to the song!
BJ always nails it with his in depth analysis. He was 💯% correct about George's music. It's all about the party 🥳 ! He was always playing venues that were close to college towns/cities that I attended back in my college days. When George was in town, it was one big party. Nonstop, full tilt. It was ON.
This reminded me of another artist and song you should check out, Chris Rea, "Road to hell" look for the long version, it has the first couple minutes that would normally get cut for radio play. He's mostly a piano player, but also plays guitar very well, in style somewhere between George Thorogood and Santana.
I used to do Security for concerts. I worked back stage during one of Thorogood's concerts. I can tell you that he and the band were sober before the show. I can't tell you what happened on the bus after the show. But I can tell you that he did not drink any of the alcohol that was provided before the show. Surprised me too. All the songs about drinkin'. And almost all of the performers eat and drink either before and/or after the show. And after the show, Thorogood took a bunch of woman to bus; So, me and my buds ate and drank his beer that was left backstage. That was a few decades ago. Hey, have you done a reaction to Dobie Grey and Drift Away? I used to go to this bar late at night. They had a jukebox with this tune on it. I would play it. Most of the time, the drunks would sing along to it. I dug that. ruclips.net/video/gr_eVcCAUXo/видео.html
Seen a million concerts…nothing tops George Thorogood and The Destroyers late 70’s at a small club in Palo Alto…they were still a 3 man…obliterated the place…🔥🔥🎸🎤
I have seen him on both ends of the specrum. In an arena (with Johnny Winter opening). And a couple of times afterwards in clubs. A sax, a guitar, over driven tube amps, and that "Bo-Diddley beat."
If you like George which it looks like you do. He has SO MANY great blues rock songs. I can honestly write a list of at least 100 songs that are very similar to this song. Heavy slide guitar, bad ass sax playing and killer lead guitar. He plays on average over 300 live shows a year and has been doing that for 30 plus years. I have seen him at least 8 times. Got to meet him one evening back stage. He played 50 concerts in 50 states in 50 days. He is one of the best blues rock players out there
Please take a listen and react to Robbie Williams singing Angels live at Knebworth The crowd is huge and he is at his peak. An amazing performer.. If you think Queens crowds a big take a look at Robbie Williams at Knebworth.
I have posted this in another George Thorogood reaction. I grew up in this era, great music from George, But the last man on the planet I would want my daughter to date!
Step#1: don't be alone Step#2: get shot glasses Step#3: pour one shot of each alcohol featured in the song Step#4: drink each shot when it is mentioned Step#5: call a doctor
You wanna hear him sing a drinking song from later in his alcoholism, then listen to “the hard stuff.” If you want to hear something a little funnier than that, listen to the song “if you don’t start drinking.”
Could you guys please react to Sam Fender seventeen going under. He's just won a Brit award and he's probably going to be the biggest singer in Britain in a few years time. Everyone over here loves him and I guarantee you won't regret reacting to him. He's brilliant
In high school we had a party at a friend's house. He passed out in a chair. There were only a couple of us that stayed over. In the morning his mom woke us all up, pissed off. He was still half asleep and half drunk but without missing a beat or even thinking about it, when she asked who all was over drinking there, he just blurted out "I drink alone". The rest of got kicked out when we busted up laughing.
Seen Lonesome George several times. He doesn't have all the lasers or video screens or pyrotechnics, but still one of the best rock and roll concerts you'll ever find.
less is more
Asia & BJ, His "Who Do You Love" and "Move It On Over" are next for you!! Saw him live, great show!
Seen him along with Steve Miller Band. Indeed was a killer show
That Move It On Over lp is friggin badass. Still have mine.
YOU TALK TOO MUCH is another great one. 🔥🔥
Bad to the Bone
Agreed, I saw him live at Dodger Stadium with The Rolling Stones, talk about a great night.
Usually drinking alone sounds depressing but this song makes it sound great!
Whenever I drink alone, I prefer to by myself... 😂
It is! I rock out so hard alone with guitar and a sixer down the hatch fast as I can.
Sometimes it's better to drink by yourself lol
my grandmother carried a pint of "Grand-dad" in her big 'ol purse.....(back in the '70's) she's been gone for many years now....I wish I could have talked with her as an adult....love yer channel And Asia;s

One of my favorites by him is If You Don't Start Drinking (I'm Gonna Leave).
Mine as well!
This ranks up there to the best live performances I’ve ever been to . Love it Cheers🥂🍻🎸🎷🔊
Definitely “Who do you love “ should be next. Not a drinking song but still awesome and bad boy groove.
Again with this guy, I love it ! ❤️🎼🎶❤️🤘😎
It fits with the tradition of blues to proudly declare one's sins and pains, the things that make your life difficult, and seeking happiness by singing the blues.
This song is great. Love how they incorporated brand names into it.
Love him!! My Dad introduced me to his music and this was one of the first songs got me hooked on him ✌😜
Awesome cool song yay, good concert he puts on yeah, good review 🎸🥁🎤🔥🔥🔥🍺🥃
I love the stink face BJ made in the guitar solo. Great song, great reaction. ❤️❤️❤️
3:35 🤟 George & the Thoroughly Good Destroyers. I like how the song ends with some tasty sax(5:11).
Nice reaction. I don't know George that well but I'm good friends with Jack, Johny and Jim. They always bring a bud along. lol
I drink alone also! All I need is my classic rock to go with it! 😁
George Thorogood & The Destroyers have an amazing sound. My friends and I used to drink and party to their music all the time!!! Please react to Steelheart...Can't Stop Me Loving You. The band is great and his vocals are amazing!!
The lyrics are just incredible and humorous all in one. Fantastic tune.
Got to see George in Milwaukee he was in the crown and played a few before he went on stage anyway I love you both but Asia is beautiful stay solid yall ✊🤝
I haven’t had a drink in two years but this song makes me wanna grab a cold one - by myself. Asia & BJ y’all ROCK! ❤️
oh man! back in my "dranking" days! "i am from the south"! early 80s! this song was a must!
Great reaction I've seen George 5 times puts on a good show. He has an extended version to this where he says I have a pet in my penthouse he's not a poodle or pony just a little wild turkey
When this song came out, I knew it was written for me.

Billy no mates then! 😉😬
@@samuelbarrett9403 Yep!!! Love it, too ;-)
Another great song by George is “Move it on over,” about being in the dog house.
George is a complete vibe 🖤🔥🖤🔥
The first concert I ever saw and they were touring with ZZ Top and Johnny Winter.
A mixture of the blues and rock. Pure gold!
He plays the guitar amazing that's him playing he loves to show off !
*MOVE IT ON OVER* my first introduction to George. One Canadian summer in the 80s, every case of Beer sold included a free George Thorogood music single - *GET A HAIRCUT* ; and I still have that free CD!
Lucky you, they don't give out rewards for buying alcohol in the states.

Ahh.What a story teller...Love George!
Old granddad is a whisky..lovelovelove ❤️🌸✌🏻
I've listened to this song for years, since the 1980s, but only just found out that Grandad is a type of heavy bourbon! Or so I read just now. Maybe our US cousins can confirm? (I'm from the UK). If so then George T did a very clever finish to that song lyric where it could be about drinking with with actual Grandad, or yet another type of alcohol added to the song!
Yes Old Grandad is a brand of Whiskey that, I believe, is owned or distributed by the same folks who distribute Jim Beam.
Bar shot back in the day, "Three Wise Men " Jack, Jim, and Jose. Start the night
Dirty dirty dirty blues......got to love the groove
BJ always nails it with his in depth analysis. He was 💯% correct about George's music. It's all about the party 🥳 ! What I liked about this song is that it's good & thorough
Oh and, Treat Her Right. George is great. Thanks for bringing me back to my high school drinking days. Love you all!
This reminded me of another artist and song you should check out, Chris Rea, "Road to hell" look for the long version, it has the first couple minutes that would normally get cut for radio play. He's mostly a piano player, but also plays guitar very well, in style somewhere between George Thorogood and Santana.
Fun fact…..there was an OF that played in Major League Baseball named Bud Weiser

"Who Do You Love" It's George! by George. Try Existential Blues by Tom T-Bone Stankus Live or studio.
Being from KY n 20 mins away from beams disterlly i drank alot of beams, ky bourban is the best. We dont have sell or make whiskey, only bourbon 🎉🎉

He also sings If You Don't Start Drinking I'm Gonna Leave
ABSOLUTELY !!! 😵💫 🤘
Seen a million concerts…nothing tops George Thorogood and The Destroyers late 70’s at a small club in Palo Alto…they were still a 3 man…obliterated the place…🔥🔥🎸🎤

Love George Thorogood! Great tune!
George is a Bad Ass!!!!!
The legendary Bo Diddley is one of his influences I implore you all to check out please.
I was drinking alone when I watched this, but realized BJ and Asia were there too! 🤣

Man guitar and sax sounds incredible 🤟🏼
Another vote for Who Do You Love” great version of a Bo Diddley song.
Let’s get the party started! Back in the day we would listen to George Thorogood in the car when we were barhopping.
Please take a listen and react to Robbie Williams singing Angels live at Knebworth The crowd is huge and he is at his peak. An amazing performer.. If you think Queens crowds a big take a look at Robbie Williams at Knebworth.
Back in the day when these songs were first released, DJ’s would announce his songs by saying, Here’s one by George Thoroughly Bad.
❤️ him! This is straight up pool hall music. Don’t try me when this is on the jukebox.
Every line is a different drink. Including ole grand dad 🍻
Just took two shots of Bärenjäger in honor of this reaction. 🥃🥃
Kinda had to....I’m alone. So why not!?
Great reaction as always!!! ✌🏼
George is amazing, try "Blue Highway," "Get a Haircut," or "If you don't start drinking I'm gonna leave."
Party starter...Haven't had a drink since 2012, and this is makin me miss my Gentleman Jack with a couple of ice cubes in it.
this song always reminds me of drinking with grandpa 🍻
I have posted this in another George Thorogood reaction. I grew up in this era, great music from George, But the last man on the planet I would want my daughter to date!
Me too Lonesome George, me too.
Step#1: don't be alone
Step#2: get shot glasses
Step#3: pour one shot of each alcohol featured in the song
Step#4: drink each shot when it is mentioned
Step#5: call a doctor
That takes me back to the stone balloon when I would go see him every weekend
This is my anthem 🤘🏽🖤🔥😈😈🔥🖤🤘🏽
Guys !...George's music is nothing new, but...what a sound !!!
Fun one 💪🏻🎸🍺
Who do you love is an absolute classic!
Both good songs
Y'all should check out Thorogood's cover of the Hank Williams song "Move It On Over." Classic.
Hi, i like your reactions. Please you have to hear Rainbow's Still I'm Sad (Live/1976). The song and the perfomance is amazing!
I used to drink alone with those guys. Now that I do keto, the alcohol days are over. Don't miss it. Healthier now also.
Here is a few more greats from him to choose from.
Steady Rollin' Man
Move It On Over
Who Do You Love
I don't drink very often anymore, but I used to be roommates with Jack Daniels.

You wanna hear him sing a drinking song from later in his alcoholism, then listen to “the hard stuff.” If you want to hear something a little funnier than that, listen to the song “if you don’t start drinking.”
Why do we love these bad boys? 🤘🏻🔥

Ahh to bad you couldn’t do the video too. He is a character!
Like you all..Like hanging and listening
Good music is good music, no matter what the genre.
need to watch the black and white video with him on his Harley. Gangster.
Ironically, I’m drinking alone right now…
You now need to listen to “If you don’t start drinking I gonna leave”
