Agreed, our community (the strength community for all forms of sport and science), thrive in the more candid format. As you stated, the "meat head lifter" is where most of us start off and this method is where many of us find a less academic and informal is more welcoming to those of us who find the overly academic and 'science based' more haughty and less accepting of those without degrees.
Thank you for sharing, I always want to train and help people, but every time i train someone it is really different than if i do it to my self so its need time and experience to get better.
