That was fun, and I'm barely tired! Still, I will take a nap this afternoon. I like watching others work, especially when they work smart and not hard! Thanks, Justin! GREAT WORK! 👍
BEST REVIEW EVER! Started out with "I never used one of these before, I'm going to figure it out and use it myself...and all by myself... "see here, it was never even turned on before".... which is exactly where most of us would be starting. Also highly respect you wearing the mask when opening the bags. Extremely interesting and extremely well done video. Perfect in every way, subscribed. 👍
I was quoted at $4000 for a sidewalk from front to backyard. I figure I can buy one of these and DIY, then sell it after. Looks like fun (except the clean up)
Awesome well done video. Have had mine for almost one year still boxed waiting and will get to use it this summer. I am very inspired and stoked to use it now more than ever after watching this video. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, Justin. We are preparing to use our unit for the first time. We don't have the hopper extension and chute like you do but we will be installing 1300 bags of cement for our footings and pads... yeah - I am nuts but live on a mountaintop where no cement truck can go!
@@JustinsProject Slow and Steady gets the job done. No help - just me and my wife. There is no way to get a cement truck up on the mountaintop - so, this is the way.
Given the nature of your pour, I think you could have gotten away without using the hopper extension. Not using the hopper would have meant less weight to move as you would be limited to fewer bags of dry mix in the hopper and you would have the lower lift height of the standard hopper. Lifting an extra 6-8 inches may not sound like much but when you're lifting 60-80 pound bags over the course of 50 -100 bag project, even a big guy like you can get tuckered out. Any thoughts? Great video, thanks for posting!
Hmmm……I would hang a silicone rounded spatula close by, to scrape the cement from the extended lip part, in lieu of scraping it with a metal scraper. Excellent video, brother! Thanks! I do like the tool, but have to really think if it’s worth it, for me, to buy one!
What about the water? When you turn it off does it keep on spraying? What about the cement getting hard and stuck in the machine then becoming inoperable?
Water only flows when you have the machine on. I never had any cement dry up on me. I did have periods of time when I needed to do things and had to take a break. I didn't have any issues, this machine was so much better than anything I have used in the past.
Great vid as always! If there’s any areas on the machine where you’re worried about wet concrete build up; you can rub a rag soaked in diesel on em right before pouring. It should help keep it super clean in the long run 👍
You caught that, lol. The look on my face was priceless. I thought I had lost it. The pallet actually broke, but I got lucky. The hopper was loaded, so it was pretty heavy.
It is a great machine to have if you can budget for it. I highly recommend it since it decreases the workload by at least 80%. I will never use a bucket-style mixer ever again. Good luck! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Maybe someone mentioned it, but should have rented/bought a vibrator. Would have saved a lot of time, and done a little better job on filling the cores.
Thanks, man! This really helped. I am renting one of these bad boys for a day, hoping that I will get 175 bags done for a slab. Looks like this will be easily doable. Loved the video.
The machine looks amazing, but the price tag is a little steep for the average small business I think. You can get a normal concrete mixer for a couple hundred bucks, one of these where I live is over 3 grand lol
It is worth the investment of you are a small business doing smaller projects. It will pay for itself and save your back. It is a ton easier than the traditional bucket mixers.
This thing should be $1499 tops and they would still make money on it and could probably sell 3x and net more profit.. That $3400 price tag is absurd considering you can buy it from the factory in china for $750 shipped... MM probably pays $500-600 for them...
Yeah sign me up for that. But until then, this is literally worth the couple of grand it costs. 3500 is still less than paying a contractor for a simple slab.
If you are planning on doing small jobs, it will pay for itself in no time. Although the chute and hooper extentions are extra, I would highly recommend them. Worse case, use it for a while and keep it clean. When you're finished, sell it. However, I don't think I'll ever sell mine.
Thanks! I'm working on something that I think a lot of people will be interested in. Full video will be coming out on that when I get it completed. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻
Idk why but I work at a place that sells these and we get at least half of them returned and the other half people couldn’t return cause it’s past 30 days.
@Doingstuff56789 I'll take a wild guess that 90% or more of them are DIY'er that need to complete a project over the weekend. Complete the project and return. Not cool, but people do it.
I'm guessing you were doing a slab instead of filling blocks though? I'm looking to rent one of these next week and need to get a couple hundred bags done in a day.
Totally DIYable, but I dare say it would actually be enjoyable if you paid someone $300 for the day to do the bag part. And just let you do the application part.

Am searching Craigslist now, for somebody else trying to sell one!

That is definitely true
Just rent one. I rented one for the week at 210. Still ended up saving a ton over contracting out.

Congrats on the mixer! Thanks for watching and commenting
If you use one of those variable speed multi tool and tape a plastic pipe to it you can use it to vibrate the cement and get into all the holes.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for confirming the hopper just sits loosely in there. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, but I guess it's just designed that way.
I like the video, the narration and the equipment, with the exception of the endless repeating of each section.

@@JustinsProject Such a good idea I am going to copy it, thanks! Will use the Mudmixer to make a vertical-build (formless) mix.

That is a good idea. I just poured another 95 bag job by myself. It certainly does significantly reduce the fatigue levels. I love it!

For a second there I thought you were going to flip $4k worth of machine over that pallet. Great demo! Thank You!
You caught that, lol. The look on my face was priceless. I thought I had lost it. The pallet actually broke, but I got lucky. The hopper was loaded, so it was pretty heavy.
This is pretty nice. Wondered if cement and coarse aggregate when adding them separately
I think it is made for just about any dry mix because you can control the water flow rate to get the right mix for your project.
How do you transport this thing? It looks too heavy to just lift it up into the truck bed. Do you need a trailer for it?
Two guys can easily lift it into a truck. Or use ramps
Can aggregate (mix of different size rocks, if you lake the aggregate larger than premixed) be added?
Depends on how large of rocks you are considering. I don't think it would handle much larger than the premix though. The auger is not massive.
Great job on demo video thx
Have you done any big slabs yet? I’m wondering if this will work for a 4” 42x48 slab for a shop?
Not yet, I did just pour another 85 bags on a project I'm working on though. Still working great!
Nice thank that video help me to decide to buy one

Curious why the retaining wall blocks are filled with concrete instead of gravel
Ultimately, I am building a solar wall. I need something to anchor my racking system to. I will have a full video on that once I finish everything.
Makes sense. I was going to ask the same.

A lot of people would buy them for $1500, but the cost is in the engineering, not in the machine itself. That labor isn't cheap.
Did you need to stop and clean the mixer from time to time......especially the auger portion?
@@mattdalton7357 I only cleaned it at the end of the project.
An upgrade would be an electric motor for the drive wheels
That would be an awesome upgrade!
Way too much money for what this is, sooner or later someone like Harbor Freight will sell a copy for 300 to 400 dollars.
