Technically from the bridge scene you could see that they have a past together and they loved their time with each other. Even Exho said he had a crush on Powder. Only reason they’re fighting is because of their disagreements.
That episode pretty much was everyone's version of a AU fanfiction come to life. And the worst part is, whether it's Vander, Silco, or even Vi, someone has to die. Like the universe can't be completely perfect. That someone HAS to suffer (mainly Jinx) to achieve it.
It has to be Vi for things to work out. Theres a great video on how Vi is a Virus, like Viktor. No matter what world they exist in, they initiate the same solipsistic short sighted behaviors.

The main CaitVi writer talked about how she had the idea for the AU back with the heist about what would happen if Vi had died. And it's kind of irony that probably plenty of viewers look at the AU and go "yep, fair enough price". Especially with how spotty the main universe is, with a lot more misery and questionable outcomes.
Perhaps the base violence necessary for change was much lower than Silco thought, but I guess it just goes to show that he did have a point. Even in the best timeline death was the catalyst for change.
Also Ekko wears an owl mask. And the owl is the only bird that sees blue :) There is a tons of symbolism and references. Absolutely genious work, i think its best of the best at the moment :)
Quick correction, my friend: owls are the only birds that see blue and are loyal to one mate in its lifetime. Most people mistakenly cut off the full factoid. Plenty of other birds see blue.

It's really tragic and kinda beautiful that Ekko was the only person who could accept and love Jinx for who she was when even VI still believed that Powder was pretending to be Jinx, when that wasn't the case. Jinx and Powder are the same person and I think the fact that Ekko possessed the alternate universes Ekko's body is a metaphor for that because AU Powder kinda figures out that Ekko isn't her Ekko. The kiss also acts as a way to show us that AU Powder doesn't see Main Universe Ekko as a different person from her Ekko, that's why when Ekko asks, "Can we pretend like it's the first time?" she isn't weirded out or shocked that he'd ask her that. AU Powder kissing MU Ekko is her saying, "I love every version of you". That's why Ekko forgives her (Jinx) in his universe and accepts the person she is, not as the psychotic killer that has killed his friends and not as the girl he grew up with, but as both of those things, because AU Powder showed him that if she can love every version of him, he shouldn't give up and not try to love every version of her. Now if only Riot and the writers would stop teasing us and give us a novel or comic or anything that continues their story because I've been losing my mind since the finale and I just wanna know where their characters go from here.
I don't think the relationship between jinx and ekko can ever be romantic. I love jinx to death but she has killed so many of ekkos friends. Being very close friends though, that I can see.
@stur3366 I'd agree with you if Ekkos arc and one of the messages of Season 2 Episode 7 wasn't, "Maybe forgiving someone can be the first step to healing and repairing what's broken." Plus it wouldn't be the first time in a story where the protagonist has killed their romantic interests friends but they end up being forgiven. It's literally what happens at the start of Berserk's Golden Age Arc with Guts and Casca. The main issue isn't them being romantic, it's how well written and believable them being in a relationship would be after their very traumatic history with one another.
Taking from another comment ina music video for ekko and powder scene: Jayce had the strength and will to crawl from this pits of hell fix his mistake. Ekko had the strength and will to leave Heaven in order to save his world. Ekko saw the world he wanted and knew what he had to fight for to save his, and like many heroes, you win, but not everybody makes it to a happy ending.
They quite literally made that feeling when you’re woken up by your alarm clock from a dream that you’d rather continue having then have to think about your shitty day into a masterpiece of art.

Absolutely agree 10000% 19:27 One of the things that really really irks me about Arcane is that in the entire show's run-time Jinx and Ekko NEVER had a proper conversation between each other. They never sat down to try and talk for once. And you might argue: "Hey, that's the point considering Jinx's attachment to Silco and all the terrible things she did coupled with Ekko's radically different ideals. How could they ever talk to each other normally given the circumstances?" I get it. But the ONE moment where it made sense to see Jinx and Ekko come together, look each other in the eye for once and just have a proper conversation about their relationship and their lives --especially given Jinx's suicidal state of mind and how she definitely feels like she hit rock bottom, and Ekko being there to save/support her--, how everything derailed due to circumstances, how to forgive each other for all the wrongdoings of the past, on how to make amends, perhaps even reconnect and reestablish their friendship (considering they were close as kids) without feeling the world is always ending when they meet, the show cuts such a meaningful and heartfelt scene like that out before the final battle. Truly a baffling decision from my point of view. Not only was that scene necessary for character growth, but also for the narrative's sake. A pretty sizeable omission if you ask me.
this, I finished the season feeling uncomfortable because this and other moments. yes, we can see where they were going with it and it's not out of nowhere where a lot of the characters and how things develop in the time skips, but also why are they skipping over the good parts that add emotional depth to everything

Maybe it would have been interesting to cut some of Mel's kidnapped scenes, take the whole brother ilusion away and go straight to Mel awakening her powers because she is going to be killed inside the spell and then include the scene where the Black Rose explains why they were looking for her. The time skip could be mantained because time inside the spell could work differently from the outside world.
Ekko was a hero in the best and worst ways. He sacrificed basically everything to save the world and didn't get a single reward. He should be sitting at the table with Sevika as a representative of Zaun
How Ekko saw it, communicating was not the answer, he barely wanted to talk with Vi when he kidnapped her. And it's actually cute how both Jinx and Elko represent Zaun in different ways. Ekko's approach was to dismantle what Silco was doing ( fighting evil within Zaun ), while Jinx ( unintentionally ) gave Zaun a fighting hope to fight back against Piltover. They did my girl Sevika dirty😭
I honestly think that Sevika being the council member. She’d be WAY better than Jayce or the other council members, who only acted on their own self interest. And yeah, Ekko is the MVP, and he’s the hero who doesn’t get celebrated. He’s honestly the ONLY character in Arcane who genuinely doesn’t have the moral ambiguity, which makes him seem so freaking cool!
Working as a council member wouldn't be a reward, it'd just be more tedious work and hard decisions working with the remnants of Piltover's council and Zaun's chem barons (both of which he hates). I could see a scene where Sevika suggests that Ekko takes over the leader/symbol void left by Silco and Jinx, and Ekko rejects the offer and points out that Sevika habitually tries to find leaders to follow when she's always been more than capable of filling the role herself.
loved TimeBomb since Season 1, the fact that Ekko was never one of the voices in her head and that he actually seems to quiet the voices the little bit they were together
With the crystals, I think it's pretty poetic that Powder has an entire drawer filled with whole ones, but instead chooses to take time fixing the one she has with Ekko
The way I interpreted the effect that being in that alternate universe had on Ekko is that it took Powder off of this pedestal in his mind. Just like Jinx, Ekko thought that "Powder" and "Jinx" was this binary thing, good and evil, creation and destruction, etc. He idolized this perfect version of Powder, the girl who used to be his best friend. And just like Jinx, he believed "Powder" was dead. Then, he actually gets to see "Powder" again, but she's still not the Powder he remembers. She doubts she's capable of anything good, she fears that her genius will only cause her loved ones to get hurt. I think that, in a way, he sees the parts of Jinx in Powder, and that allows him to see Powder that's still in Jinx. And because of Isha, Jinx realizes the same thing.

If Jinx really is alive, I really do hope that she and Ekko managed to reconnect and start over. Ekko sacrificed so much and Jinx went through so much pain over her life and it would be a nice thought that they managed to come together after everything that happened.
I know it's extremely unlikely, but I like the idea of AU Powder visiting the main timeline just to see Vi, and Jinx returning to Zaun, and just have them watch each other interact with other characters. So much potential. Vi interacting with the "ideal sister". Powder being excited to see Vi's girlfriend only for Caitlyn to very much not be onboard with the interaction. Jinx watching Ekko interact with Powder. Powder being angry at Jinx for not treating Ekko better. Jinx telling Powder that Ekko deserves better than herself. "I'm not her, Ekko. Stop looking at me that way". Powder on the verge of killing someone for some reason, only for Jinx to stop her and protect her innocence. Powder: Everyone seems to hate me in this world. What did you do? Jinx: You killed Vi in your world. I killed everyone but Vi. So many ideas to play with

Like if we are being realistic, Ekko and Jinx should never interact with each other again with the history they have had with each other, because no matter what thier relationship is, be they friends or lovers, its going to be or at least start out as being toxic. Because if we are being real, these two wouldn't work as friends or lovers If the tragedy/messed up history is the main reason you don't think they would work?
And then there's the song for Episode 7. If you know French or found the translation, you realize just how PERFECT and heartbreakingly tragic the song fits The Timebomb.

Awesome video. Yeah, we needed that sceene of Ekko trying to save Powder when he formed Firelights and her refusing to go with him, even hitting his face - thus the nickname "the Boy Savior". Also to see what made her going from trying to die 5 times untill the final battle in episode 9. You can also see that Ekko has a heart near his shoulder, same color as the X on his chest - made by Jinx. The book Art of Making of Arcane is from Jinx's POV and the page with them is filled with hearts, words like 'best boy' and them holding hands, so it kinda reveals that Jinx also has feelings for Ekko but it would have been better seeing it all in the series not via book.. Co-creator of Arcane Christian did say that their story is worth exploring further, so they will be back in future projects.
I think the fact that they got so many of their scenes cut (ie like the writers concretely describing a scene in season 1 where young Ekko tried to get Jinx to run away from Silco and she slaps him) or moved to alternative media like the music video gives the couple such a wonderful conspiracy theory vibe that you used to only get from gay ships. Yes, it sucks that those essential scenes got cut but precisely because the absence of those scenes is so felt (ie that cut scene from season 1 explains why Ekko is so sure that Jinx is doing this of her free will, because he tried to save her, like Vi is doing now, but got rejected) just inspires the concpiracy train in your head. My favorite bits of alt!universe!Ekko was definitely him painting the mural and the convo he has with her about how it was wrong to give up. That hits so hard for Ekko's arc but also with the overall message of forgiveness and reaching out to each other that the show is going for (also with Jayce and Viktor and Silco and Vander in the AU).
Another few thoughts to keep in mind, during their fight in S1 there is a crow behind Jinx and a firelight behind Ekko. Ekko's firelight mask is the design of an owl, which are birds that are mutual enemies with crows. But as a contrary, owls are also not only known to fall in love once, they're also the ONLY birds that can see the color blue. At 16:52 , you can see an outline of Ekko (blue pedals on the left) and Powder (white pedals on the right). And Ekko leaving his perfect world behind was the anomaly and the reason why Viktor wasn't able to control him. Viktor said that whoever's mind he connected with "Longed for a better life", but Ekko has lived that better life, and he chose to walk away from it because people needed him. So when Ekko saw the blue sky light up while he was fading, it gave him the strength to push his time powers to the limit from being reminded of what he had built with the love of his life.
i understand your interpretation, but it's not really the case. first of, viktor has a harder time controlling those already in touch with the arcane, which ekko just like jayce already had via the anomaly (jayce also had the rune fused into him of course). Then, there's the fact that ekko very literally and matter of fact is an anomaly once he comes back. viktor can basically see everything in parallel, but things in THIS world, so the acceleration rune and ekko's device the z-drive are out of his plans and control. and genuinly, he didn't make it past viktor, he failed first, he had to rewind and try a second time, and he would have been fucked if he had thrown the z drive and jayce couldn't fulfill his promise in that time line lol, but luckily jayce did manage to reach viktor during that time freeze. viktor quite literally says "this device, it cannot be", the issue isn't with controlling ekko or not, it's with the device, and technically speaking, yeah it really cannot be, it only exists because of the change in rune in the altertane universe, which current viktor can't account for, only "future" viktor knows about the acceleration rune. also, while viktor was very powerful, he certainly demonstrated that he could be distracted and that if he had to strain too much with effort on a certain task, his attentiveness diminished heavily somewhere else: and at the time of ekko arriving, viktor is at peak distraction, jayce is trying his best to come and destroy everything, viktor really loves him so he willingly throughout the series never tampers with his concsiousness until the very, very last second, and when he tries to do so, jayce, already in touch with the arcane and future viktor, puts up wuite the resistance. he is having to do something he resisted all throughout, it leaves him emotionally vulnerable: jayce, and strained: battling everything everywhere and also dealing with jayce hammering in on his own plain. not to mention, the two characters that were able to contribute the most against viktor, jayce and ekko, both had time on and off camera studying together the anomaly, getting to know how it worked, so ekko came in prepared. i could go on but i think i make my point. Yours is a cute metaphorical interpretation, but the series gives plenty of actual phisycal explanations, so it feels like a stretch to try and asign it to the metaphorical when the phisical is already screaming at your face "i've got the perfect opportunity, preparation, device and unique timeline in my hand, clearly stated so too by the series itself". Also, when viktor says "whoever's mind he connected with "Longed for a better life" he doesn't mean it as a condition, as in "oh, only those who yearn for better i can actually have the ability to connect with", but rather, it's shown that whenever he connects, he gets to see their wishes. he is telling a summary of what he saw basically, which, through both seasons inspired him to help people until the whole concept got corrupted in the third act. it's implied that by the time he gets hammered by jayce before fusing with warwick, he already has seen so many dreams and visions of others, but instead of helping them achieve it the "regular" way, or even his initial "jesus" way, he decides ultimately that everyone (ekko being no exception in his eyes) is incapable of it, at least not in a "perfect" way, and he wasn't wrong really, they were all going to suffer, rage, etc sooner or later, repeatedly throughout life. And ekko is no exception, and he too longs for a better life. yes, he saw the apparently semi perfect AU, but you should know from his own words that it actually motivated him even more to push for that better life in his current timeline (despite it being different), focusing, as he said, on what he could do rather on what things weren't. he yearns INTENSELY for a better life. i think you misunderstand both viktor and ekko.
I think Riot took that Ekko cinematic slogan to heart when it came to his impact on the series "i don't need hours or days or years, i only need seconds"
Fun fact: Jinx from the primary timeline is also in love with Ekko. We know this because of the official Arcane artbook that is made from Jinx's perspective, and in it, she writes best boy on Ekko's page and draws hearts next to face, even highlighting them holding hands in one of the artworks. In conclusion, timebomb is canon, now it just needs to become official.
TimeBomb genuinely surprised me. I had kind of explored season two on the outside for quite a while since I didn't watch season one until I finally ended up doing it just to feel the heartbreak. But I full on expected I was going to be more composed than I was. I was sort of right. Isha broke my heart but for some reason I didn't cry and get destroyed by the other universe. I realized why though. I was immediately hit by the bittersweetness. I was able to love it for what it was. A ship that could never be with the two we have but a ship that could have been in a happier time... Like Mylo trying to date that one girl who died in the battle. Lost hopes and dreams that feed the hopes and dreams of those two. We can hope since Jinx is alive those two might eventually come together when she's more stable. When Ekko has repaired things enough. But there's no guarentees. We'll never know. We just have to enjoy what it was. And I agree that is its strength.
As a recent shipper to timebomb, I truly wish arcane develops jinx and ekko's relationship from beginning to end. They don't interact at all in act 1, then they we have the bridge fight scene in act 2, and don't meet each other in the entire act 3. And then we got to season 2, and we got episode 7 where timebomb is developed, but it's in an alternate universe and I still enjoyed every single second of that episode. Then we go to episode 9, and ekko saves jinx from suicide, and nothing happens afterwards. Then we get to jinx making her sacrifice in season 2, and we see ekko alone and mourns her death, even though a large majority of fans made a theory that jinx is still alive, and I believe she's not dead either, but I really don't think we'll see her again yet in the arcane universe. And I really wish we got the scene where ekko told jinx about the alternate universe, and prepared for the war between piltover and noxus. Now I'm hoping that timebomb gets developed more, hopefully jinx will make her return in the demacia tv show, but I'm certain she'll be revealed to still be alive in either season 2 or 3 of the demacia series.
there is an extended music video enemy, which shows ekko and jinx as children and they seemed to spent lots of time together playing and gooding around
I have to admit, Enemy got me on board with Powder and Ekko as a ship with the scenes it showed off of how close they were before everything went to hell - then putting that back together with their limited interaction in S1 before yeah S2 grew it beautifully.

There’s implications the AU Powder had an idea that Ekko came from an alt universe during the cute science montage. Powder saw a doodle in Ekko’s journal about him theorizing jumping into another AU’s body. The conversation on the roof from Ekko about giving up on Zaun and “Powder” also wouldn’t make any sense to Powder if she didn’t know or suspect he was from an alt universe, but her response wasn’t confusion, but encouragement. I like to think AU Powder didn’t want Ekko to give up on his Powder/Jinx, so that’s why she told him she’s never known him to give up on anything. I also like the impact Jinx and Ekko’s arrival had in the finale. I’ve read theories of people saying that would lose impact if we did see the scene of Ekko/Jinx talk about the alt universe or if we saw them prepping for battle. Think the discussion of the alt universe could’ve been kept and the actual entrance could’ve had the same impact, but not if we saw them don each other’s colors or the like with the war paint, but I love it gives shippers fanfic fuel to write about. It’s a lot of fun.
Blue roses or the color blue is one of the only colors owls can see without issue, the owl is the mask Ekko has as his identity. Always see her clearly even when trying to ignore it
When he says “your inventions changed the world” it felt more like he was trying not to say too much, as if he hinted she did a lot of horrible things, it might give Powder the wrong idea, or bring back up how he’s been treating her for the X amount of time he’s been there. Like, it’s clear to a degree he admires how well she is at building these things in his timeline, which was prob the point of why he said it the way he did.
I felt like in addition to the lessons Ekko learned, AU Powder gave him something unspoken. It was something he didn't know he desperately needed. I wish he could have found a way to pass that gift on to Jinx, but that probably would have taken a whole extra season.
The Flower pendent Ekko gifts Powder symbolizes Unattainable Love. Ekko's ending is so tragic, that I do not think Jinx is dead,there are too many hints and foreshadowing in both realities that Jinx was going to leave so Vi can move on. Learning about the deleted scenes between Jinx & Ekko after Ekko saves her, and that he tells her that there is a good version of her. He brings her to his Tree Hideout and they begin to build and prepare to help Vi against the Noxians. There was supposed to be a paralleled romantic montage that mirrored the one Ekko had with Alternate Powder building and creating and the grow closer painting on each other nd Jinx getting a new Haircut yet still keeping a few things that were a part of Silco, His Glove and young Silco''s front bang that covers parts of his eye, which turned out to be Jinx iconic front hairstyle,Jinx just had it dyed.,blue & purple the last thing she kept of Silco's was Young Silco's bracelet in the flashback, Jinx ended up wearing it as a necklace. Despite burning down what was part of her past a and got rid of her iconic braids,she really wanted to take a part of her Dad with her. Anyhow after the Romantic montage between Jinx and Ekko and Rally the Undercity since Jinx was now seen as a Symbol because of Ekko she embraces it to get everyone on board to help. I think Jinx at that point told Ekko she had to leave after the fight. Whether she told him it is just for awhile or it was for the best it was for good that she needs to let him go and have him promise never to tell Vi she is still Alive. It could be either, regardless Ekko gets the Casablanca ending, meaning he has to Watch Jinx fly off to start a new life,build a new life as it were,fill her own cup since she was too smart to stay in that bar she burned down the rest of her life,she found the will to walk away. I would love to see those deleted scenes.The Arcane Artbook hints that if Jinx who is now genetically enhance thanks to Singed, which reminds me of Alice from those Resident Evil Movies, where she can take inhuman amount of damage,super fash,agile and stronger. Jinx is off to BilgeWater, Jinx wrote all over the Map in the book with a big Heart over Bilgewater with Pirates written underneath. Jinx is flying off to that area, Jinx is off to a new life,we will see her and Ekko again, says one of the creators,however when is unclear. I do think he knows Jinx is still Alive someone found out the name Ekko wrote on the paper he burned it turns out to be "Powder" not Jinx. So Timebomb is the best Ship can not wait to see them again.
honestly, i think that just like with jayce and viktor coming to terms together and fixing everything while sort of offing themselves in the process, it would diminish the weight of every choice if ekko got his perfect paradise in the current timeline. i do feel like yearning for that comes out of attachment to the characters, which is understandable, but it really diminishes narratively all that has happened up to that point.
@@magical571 Whether Ekko has to let Go of Jinx because she died, which I highly doubt, or he he thinks she is dead and Jinx, listened to her inner Silco and Walked away leaving on that random airship which only served to remind the viewer of Powder's ACT 1 Season 1 Scene where She wanted to ride one one day.given that it is canon now that Jinx is genetically altered thanks to Singed and Caitlyn never found Jinx's body and she was still investigating the HexGate Vent system, It seems to me Cait the super Sleuth figured out Jinx did survive and start a new life, it was not the smile that made me think she figured it out, aside from holding Jinx's monkey bomb figure after she focused on the vents, she tilted her head and the expression she had was of as if she was putting 2 and 2 together, then she smiled,but most likely because of Vi's humming. If Cait did figure it out I think she will keep it to herself and that is what Jinx would want. If Vi knew She was alive, Vi would have gone searching for her sister I think. I think there is enough foreshadowing that Both Powder and Jinx were going to Leave Zaun. Vander told Powder in the AU that she is too smart to stay in a bar her whole life, she needs to fill her own cup, so Vander and Silco were both telling Powder & Jinx she needs to leave, Walk Away and I think she truly did, without ending herself. I think Isha would want Jinx to keep living anyway. Next show is Noxus,as Jinx is on her way to BilgeWater, after learning the original ending of Season 1 ACT 1 it seems the most likely place Jinx is heading to. In the original ending to ACT 1 Vi says to Powder she never wants to see her again, Powder in total shock and heartbroken runs towards an Airship portm seeing an Airship just about to leave She jumps on the airship just in the nick of time,too heartbroken to fear the jump, Vi realizing she F'd up with her words starts running after her after she saw an Airship leaving, by the time Vi reached the Airship port she looks up at Powder who is now full of anger look at each other one last time, The Airship was heading to BilgeWater, Powder stays in BilgeWater until the Timeskip and returns with her pirate like torn pants.
also a beautiful symbolism is in the dancing scene its shot in 4 frames per second refering to ekko's ability to jump back in time for 4 seconds signaling that he wants to stay in that moment
I've seen many episodes where a character ends up in a reality with everything they everything they ever wanted, but this is by far the best, our characters have suffered so much that you desperately want them to get some happiness, but you know ekko isn't gonna stay, and because we've seen all they've been through, you know how painful is that decision for ekko
What I love is the parallel between Jayce and Echo, after going to hell and heaven respectively Jayce came back with a determination to kill his best who he’s been trying to save at the beginning of the season while Echo came back determined to save the friend that was the biggest villain in his life
I just love how their both a force of nature in their right. Ekko is literally the only reason Silco didn't seize full control of the undercitty by putting a mokey wrench in his plans. Jinx is the best foil for him as she is just as unpredictable while matching his intelligence to make his life ever so harder.
At 6:57 you call the firelight people shimmer addicts but it’s more likely that the firelights are made up of the child labor force that silco had making shimmer. A lot of the firelights are really young if you look and are ravage by shimmer like we see with the people viktor later helps.
I used to be someone who was not into shipping at ALL (still not really into it), but Jinx x Ekko just captured my heart so unexpectedly. I didn't even really ship them in the first season but s2e7 and Ekko's character arc just broke my heart. This is the first time i found myself going to ao3 to find fanfics and watching interviews about the show to find precious Timebomb crumbs💔. Guess tragic childhood friends to enemies to (potentially)lovers is now my thing lmao.

This gets me thinking, Since there’s alt universes in this series, Is it like Spiderverse where there’s a specific rule that must happen to every single universe? I thought the dance sequence was really pretty art wise, You can tell that the people behind this series had so much fun with the designs. I can’t unsee the Miles Gwen connection from Spiderverse. It’s not an exact detail. But I can fully see why people think of Spiderverse whenever they talk about Ekko and Powder Also thank you so so much for clarifying a few things. I was genuinely confused on this episode on weither it was a time stuff going on or if it was a dream thing happening so I’m really glad you cleared that up!! It’s really sad they only got 2 seasons. The world is a fun place to just look at. Everything is pretty and the artist did such a wonderful job!
not necesarily a rule, but you have only two paths, with certain variants among them. either hextech gets invented: it always is by viktor, or viktor + jayce, and it always ends in the end of the world EXCEPT when accounting for viktors attempts at giving jayce a different rune via his godly power. The second universe is were hextech doesn't get invented, vi being dead is one of the versions of said split.

As a fun fact I happen to know the person who very possibly was the one who came up with that ship name too! (or at least her calling it that was the earliest mention of the ship name Timebomb back in ye old Tumblr days) so that is neat, makes me feel like an OG shipper xD Anyways thank you for the great video as always! :D
Tbh I really hope she does, but will she actually come back? We know that the creator/co-creator mentioned that they want to expand on Ekko and Powder's story, as well as on what Ekko needed, but does that (the second bit) means Ekko and JINX (not Powder).... no idea.
Unrelated, but TimeBomb gives me hope for Miles×Gwen (whenever Beyond the Spiderverse comes out). Also: "Wow, if I had a nickel for everytime I've seen two teenagers, one a black dude who's the best character and one a white girl with daddy issues who kinda becomes the villian via plot and accidentally offed someone she loved, fall in love but are doomed by the plot and involves the multiverse and alternate timelines, and has Hailee Steinfeild as a voice in its source material, I'd have two nickles".
Another tidbit is the fact Jinx realizes something is happening to Ekko.. He starts to smoke, his paint gets rubbed off and blood starts to spill from him. Jinx, removes her finger from the pin and decides to jump instead.. saving Ekko from whatever pain he is experiencing. She does that after, also, seeing the little monkeys in his device... her monkeys. Does she think Ekko put them there as a remembrance of her? Why would he do that? Is this just another attempt to try to convince her to come back? So many questions. I just wish she would have taken Ekko with her or, at least, they made up before she left.

Oh hi I'm a flower guy, and it's gonna hurt you even more. The water lily flower (and yes does come in blue and white varieties as well as elegant and floofy types hence why I'm assuming the necklace is a type of lily, because the symbolism of water lilies come up often in the show in tender moments but especially here) represents peace. I mean other stuff too like mental purity, childlike wonder and joy, and tranquility, but yeah, they're all some flavour of finding peace.
Fun fact, since not all who watch play Riot games but. After season one, in their card game-Legends of Runeterra, Ekko has a voice line where if he sees Jinx, he tells her how much he misses Powder.
as tired as i am of the multiverse trope i think episode 7 used it pretty well as Arcane's story definetly would not be the same if it didnt happen not only would Jinx have blown herself up Ekko also wouldnt have the CLUTCH and a half reverse device and Jayce wouldnt have blown his love's back out (in the bad way) in my opionion thats the best way to handle a multiverse by having it actually impact not just the story but the characters as well
"multiverse trope" to be fair, ekko got released in 2015 with his backstory and all. dr strange got released in 2016 by reference. it's just that while arcane was in preparation (which it was for a decade), a lot of marvel multiverse thingies got released. but technically speaking, arcane isn't following in their "trope"
Another sad thing is that when Ekko said "Just trynna talk my way to a friend who's going to blow us both up." (or smth like that) Jinx replied with "I'm tired of talking." but she doesn't pull the pin, she instead jumps into despair cause she honoured Ekko's words but still wanted to disappear. [Took me 2 minutes to type this out. The Fcking Tears]
Timebomb (at least the Arcane version) is proof that straightforward, uncomplicated relationships still have a place in fiction. I also disagree with the notion that we needed that Jinx and Ekko conversation, at least not in its entirety. Could've been a shorter, simpler talk. Something like: J: (looks at the monkeys in the weird machine) Think I'd remember building something like that. E: It's a long story. (looks at her and smiles softly) Wanna hear it? J: The way you said that. You really think a simple bedtime story will just, magically fix everything? E: (pauses for a moment) The best thing we can do in life is find the power to forgive. It may not fix everything, but I'd like to at least try. Wouldn't you? For those sad for ekko at the end, don't worry about him. He still has game with atleast 4 other champions (seraphin,rell,taliya& zeri). Also if jinx gotta be with someone else, please let it be kayn because both of them are walking red flags on fire and whether they make each other worse or accidentally fix each other it's going to be glorious.
As a side note about what you said of Ekko and Powder "stealing bikes together", it was confirmed in the Jinx Fixes everything minigame that the two of them actually made that invention together, and Ekko has a line (I think in the arcane event in Wild Rift?) where he said that Powder was the only one he ever allowed to ride it with him.
It's heartbreaking how he cant get his eye off his father figure the first time he saw him again. It's like he saw a ghost. Bet when he left the au, his father figure is one of the only people he is struggling to totally let go. He had longed to see benzo's proud face everyday but he knows well that he aint his benzo and had to accept that his benzo is not with him anymore
From someone that use to play league and hated both Ekko and Jinx in game, for me to come out and say now that I love Time bomb just goes to show how well tragically written these two were.
Ekko is not the Boy of Savior. He's the Man of Savior. He's the only character who is insanely sane when everybody becomes insane. Although he is tragic like everyone else, his adoptive father got killed, his friend died, his crush became insane and killed his friend, and his hometown became drug heaven. The art style in the dance scene is usually used when a character is in a dream or hallucinating. That is Ekko's vision. He stays sane, knows that this timeline isn't his, and he has to leave. And I don't need to explain to you how much willpower needed to stays sane in the multiverse. He's a Gigachad
The tragedy of it all is how young both characters are and that they only really got to act their age and be happy in the alternate timeline. Also that episode was great simply because of the contrast between Ekko and Jayce’s journey between worlds.

That episode pretty much was everyone's version of a AU fanfiction come to life. And the worst part is, whether it's Vander, Silco, or even Vi, someone has to die. Like the universe can't be completely perfect. That someone HAS to suffer (mainly Jinx) to achieve it.
It has to be Vi for things to work out. Theres a great video on how Vi is a Virus, like Viktor. No matter what world they exist in, they initiate the same solipsistic short sighted behaviors.

The main CaitVi writer talked about how she had the idea for the AU back with the heist about what would happen if Vi had died. And it's kind of irony that probably plenty of viewers look at the AU and go "yep, fair enough price". Especially with how spotty the main universe is, with a lot more misery and questionable outcomes.
Perhaps the base violence necessary for change was much lower than Silco thought, but I guess it just goes to show that he did have a point. Even in the best timeline death was the catalyst for change.

It's really tragic and kinda beautiful that Ekko was the only person who could accept and love Jinx for who she was when even VI still believed that Powder was pretending to be Jinx, when that wasn't the case. Jinx and Powder are the same person and I think the fact that Ekko possessed the alternate universes Ekko's body is a metaphor for that because AU Powder kinda figures out that Ekko isn't her Ekko. The kiss also acts as a way to show us that AU Powder doesn't see Main Universe Ekko as a different person from her Ekko, that's why when Ekko asks, "Can we pretend like it's the first time?" she isn't weirded out or shocked that he'd ask her that. AU Powder kissing MU Ekko is her saying, "I love every version of you". That's why Ekko forgives her (Jinx) in his universe and accepts the person she is, not as the psychotic killer that has killed his friends and not as the girl he grew up with, but as both of those things, because AU Powder showed him that if she can love every version of him, he shouldn't give up and not try to love every version of her.
Now if only Riot and the writers would stop teasing us and give us a novel or comic or anything that continues their story because I've been losing my mind since the finale and I just wanna know where their characters go from here.

I don't think the relationship between jinx and ekko can ever be romantic. I love jinx to death but she has killed so many of ekkos friends. Being very close friends though, that I can see.
@stur3366 I'd agree with you if Ekkos arc and one of the messages of Season 2 Episode 7 wasn't, "Maybe forgiving someone can be the first step to healing and repairing what's broken." Plus it wouldn't be the first time in a story where the protagonist has killed their romantic interests friends but they end up being forgiven. It's literally what happens at the start of Berserk's Golden Age Arc with Guts and Casca.
The main issue isn't them being romantic, it's how well written and believable them being in a relationship would be after their very traumatic history with one another.

One of the things that really really irks me about Arcane is that in the entire show's run-time Jinx and Ekko NEVER had a proper conversation between each other. They never sat down to try and talk for once. And you might argue: "Hey, that's the point considering Jinx's attachment to Silco and all the terrible things she did coupled with Ekko's radically different ideals. How could they ever talk to each other normally given the circumstances?" I get it.
But the ONE moment where it made sense to see Jinx and Ekko come together, look each other in the eye for once and just have a proper conversation about their relationship and their lives --especially given Jinx's suicidal state of mind and how she definitely feels like she hit rock bottom, and Ekko being there to save/support her--, how everything derailed due to circumstances, how to forgive each other for all the wrongdoings of the past, on how to make amends, perhaps even reconnect and reestablish their friendship (considering they were close as kids) without feeling the world is always ending when they meet, the show cuts such a meaningful and heartfelt scene like that out before the final battle.
Truly a baffling decision from my point of view. Not only was that scene necessary for character growth, but also for the narrative's sake. A pretty sizeable omission if you ask me.
this, I finished the season feeling uncomfortable because this and other moments. yes, we can see where they were going with it and it's not out of nowhere where a lot of the characters and how things develop in the time skips, but also why are they skipping over the good parts that add emotional depth to everything
I honestly wouldve skipped Mel's scenes to see more of Jinx and Ekko making the blip
@@noobmasterruben5167I like this idea, because Mel's scenes felt like the writers didn't know where to include them inside the main story and make them feel organic like the rest. Maybe it would have been interesting to cut some of Mel's kidnapped scenes, take the whole brother ilusion away and go straight to Mel awakening her powers because she is going to be killed inside the spell and then include the scene where the Black Rose explains why they were looking for her. The time skip could be mantained because time inside the spell could work differently from the outside world.
Ekko was a hero in the best and worst ways. He sacrificed basically everything to save the world and didn't get a single reward. He should be sitting at the table with Sevika as a representative of Zaun
How Ekko saw it, communicating was not the answer, he barely wanted to talk with Vi when he kidnapped her. And it's actually cute how both Jinx and Elko represent Zaun in different ways. Ekko's approach was to dismantle what Silco was doing ( fighting evil within Zaun ), while Jinx ( unintentionally ) gave Zaun a fighting hope to fight back against Piltover.

To be fair he didn’t look like someone that good in politics. Sevika was more qualified for that job.
I honestly think that Sevika being the council member. She’d be WAY better than Jayce or the other council members, who only acted on their own self interest.
And yeah, Ekko is the MVP, and he’s the hero who doesn’t get celebrated. He’s honestly the ONLY character in Arcane who genuinely doesn’t have the moral ambiguity, which makes him seem so freaking cool!
Ekko is still a young adult, no way is he ready to become a representative of zaun.
Working as a council member wouldn't be a reward, it'd just be more tedious work and hard decisions working with the remnants of Piltover's council and Zaun's chem barons (both of which he hates).
I could see a scene where Sevika suggests that Ekko takes over the leader/symbol void left by Silco and Jinx, and Ekko rejects the offer and points out that Sevika habitually tries to find leaders to follow when she's always been more than capable of filling the role herself.
loved TimeBomb since Season 1, the fact that Ekko was never one of the voices in her head and that he actually seems to quiet the voices the little bit they were together
With the crystals, I think it's pretty poetic that Powder has an entire drawer filled with whole ones, but instead chooses to take time fixing the one she has with Ekko
The way I interpreted the effect that being in that alternate universe had on Ekko is that it took Powder off of this pedestal in his mind. Just like Jinx, Ekko thought that "Powder" and "Jinx" was this binary thing, good and evil, creation and destruction, etc. He idolized this perfect version of Powder, the girl who used to be his best friend. And just like Jinx, he believed "Powder" was dead.
Then, he actually gets to see "Powder" again, but she's still not the Powder he remembers. She doubts she's capable of anything good, she fears that her genius will only cause her loved ones to get hurt. I think that, in a way, he sees the parts of Jinx in Powder, and that allows him to see Powder that's still in Jinx. And because of Isha, Jinx realizes the same thing.
I, too, love TimeBomb. Bittersweet & short, yet genuine & beautiful.

I know it's extremely unlikely, but I like the idea of AU Powder visiting the main timeline just to see Vi, and Jinx returning to Zaun, and just have them watch each other interact with other characters. So much potential. Vi interacting with the "ideal sister". Powder being excited to see Vi's girlfriend only for Caitlyn to very much not be onboard with the interaction. Jinx watching Ekko interact with Powder. Powder being angry at Jinx for not treating Ekko better. Jinx telling Powder that Ekko deserves better than herself. "I'm not her, Ekko. Stop looking at me that way". Powder on the verge of killing someone for some reason, only for Jinx to stop her and protect her innocence.
Powder: Everyone seems to hate me in this world. What did you do?
Jinx: You killed Vi in your world. I killed everyone but Vi.

Awesome video. Yeah, we needed that sceene of Ekko trying to save Powder when he formed Firelights and her refusing to go with him, even hitting his face - thus the nickname "the Boy Savior". Also to see what made her going from trying to die 5 times untill the final battle in episode 9. You can also see that Ekko has a heart near his shoulder, same color as the X on his chest - made by Jinx. The book Art of Making of Arcane is from Jinx's POV and the page with them is filled with hearts, words like 'best boy' and them holding hands, so it kinda reveals that Jinx also has feelings for Ekko but it would have been better seeing it all in the series not via book..
Co-creator of Arcane Christian did say that their story is worth exploring further, so they will be back in future projects.
I think the fact that they got so many of their scenes cut (ie like the writers concretely describing a scene in season 1 where young Ekko tried to get Jinx to run away from Silco and she slaps him) or moved to alternative media like the music video gives the couple such a wonderful conspiracy theory vibe that you used to only get from gay ships. Yes, it sucks that those essential scenes got cut but precisely because the absence of those scenes is so felt (ie that cut scene from season 1 explains why Ekko is so sure that Jinx is doing this of her free will, because he tried to save her, like Vi is doing now, but got rejected) just inspires the concpiracy train in your head.
My favorite bits of alt!universe!Ekko was definitely him painting the mural and the convo he has with her about how it was wrong to give up. That hits so hard for Ekko's arc but also with the overall message of forgiveness and reaching out to each other that the show is going for (also with Jayce and Viktor and Silco and Vander in the AU).

Ekko’s arc in Season 2 is a twist of Superman’s “For The Man Who Has Everything” and I love it for this.

Another few thoughts to keep in mind, during their fight in S1 there is a crow behind Jinx and a firelight behind Ekko. Ekko's firelight mask is the design of an owl, which are birds that are mutual enemies with crows. But as a contrary, owls are also not only known to fall in love once, they're also the ONLY birds that can see the color blue. At 16:52 , you can see an outline of Ekko (blue pedals on the left) and Powder (white pedals on the right). And Ekko leaving his perfect world behind was the anomaly and the reason why Viktor wasn't able to control him. Viktor said that whoever's mind he connected with "Longed for a better life", but Ekko has lived that better life, and he chose to walk away from it because people needed him. So when Ekko saw the blue sky light up while he was fading, it gave him the strength to push his time powers to the limit from being reminded of what he had built with the love of his life.
i understand your interpretation, but it's not really the case.
first of, viktor has a harder time controlling those already in touch with the arcane, which ekko just like jayce already had via the anomaly (jayce also had the rune fused into him of course).
Then, there's the fact that ekko very literally and matter of fact is an anomaly once he comes back. viktor can basically see everything in parallel, but things in THIS world, so the acceleration rune and ekko's device the z-drive are out of his plans and control. and genuinly, he didn't make it past viktor, he failed first, he had to rewind and try a second time, and he would have been fucked if he had thrown the z drive and jayce couldn't fulfill his promise in that time line lol, but luckily jayce did manage to reach viktor during that time freeze.
viktor quite literally says "this device, it cannot be", the issue isn't with controlling ekko or not, it's with the device, and technically speaking, yeah it really cannot be, it only exists because of the change in rune in the altertane universe, which current viktor can't account for, only "future" viktor knows about the acceleration rune. also, while viktor was very powerful, he certainly demonstrated that he could be distracted and that if he had to strain too much with effort on a certain task, his attentiveness diminished heavily somewhere else: and at the time of ekko arriving, viktor is at peak distraction, jayce is trying his best to come and destroy everything, viktor really loves him so he willingly throughout the series never tampers with his concsiousness until the very, very last second, and when he tries to do so, jayce, already in touch with the arcane and future viktor, puts up wuite the resistance. he is having to do something he resisted all throughout, it leaves him emotionally vulnerable: jayce, and strained: battling everything everywhere and also dealing with jayce hammering in on his own plain. not to mention, the two characters that were able to contribute the most against viktor, jayce and ekko, both had time on and off camera studying together the anomaly, getting to know how it worked, so ekko came in prepared. i could go on but i think i make my point.
Yours is a cute metaphorical interpretation, but the series gives plenty of actual phisycal explanations, so it feels like a stretch to try and asign it to the metaphorical when the phisical is already screaming at your face "i've got the perfect opportunity, preparation, device and unique timeline in my hand, clearly stated so too by the series itself".
Also, when viktor says "whoever's mind he connected with "Longed for a better life" he doesn't mean it as a condition, as in "oh, only those who yearn for better i can actually have the ability to connect with", but rather, it's shown that whenever he connects, he gets to see their wishes. he is telling a summary of what he saw basically, which, through both seasons inspired him to help people until the whole concept got corrupted in the third act.
it's implied that by the time he gets hammered by jayce before fusing with warwick, he already has seen so many dreams and visions of others, but instead of helping them achieve it the "regular" way, or even his initial "jesus" way, he decides ultimately that everyone (ekko being no exception in his eyes) is incapable of it, at least not in a "perfect" way, and he wasn't wrong really, they were all going to suffer, rage, etc sooner or later, repeatedly throughout life. And ekko is no exception, and he too longs for a better life. yes, he saw the apparently semi perfect AU, but you should know from his own words that it actually motivated him even more to push for that better life in his current timeline (despite it being different), focusing, as he said, on what he could do rather on what things weren't. he yearns INTENSELY for a better life. i think you misunderstand both viktor and ekko.
I think Riot took that Ekko cinematic slogan to heart when it came to his impact on the series "i don't need hours or days or years, i only need seconds"
This episode like many others kinda felt like it couldve been longer but what we did get was good enough as it was.

Fun fact: Jinx from the primary timeline is also in love with Ekko. We know this because of the official Arcane artbook that is made from Jinx's perspective, and in it, she writes best boy on Ekko's page and draws hearts next to face, even highlighting them holding hands in one of the artworks.

TimeBomb genuinely surprised me. I had kind of explored season two on the outside for quite a while since I didn't watch season one until I finally ended up doing it just to feel the heartbreak. But I full on expected I was going to be more composed than I was. I was sort of right. Isha broke my heart but for some reason I didn't cry and get destroyed by the other universe.
I realized why though. I was immediately hit by the bittersweetness. I was able to love it for what it was. A ship that could never be with the two we have but a ship that could have been in a happier time... Like Mylo trying to date that one girl who died in the battle. Lost hopes and dreams that feed the hopes and dreams of those two. We can hope since Jinx is alive those two might eventually come together when she's more stable. When Ekko has repaired things enough.
But there's no guarentees. We'll never know. We just have to enjoy what it was. And I agree that is its strength.
As a recent shipper to timebomb, I truly wish arcane develops jinx and ekko's relationship from beginning to end. They don't interact at all in act 1, then they we have the bridge fight scene in act 2, and don't meet each other in the entire act 3. And then we got to season 2, and we got episode 7 where timebomb is developed, but it's in an alternate universe and I still enjoyed every single second of that episode. Then we go to episode 9, and ekko saves jinx from suicide, and nothing happens afterwards. Then we get to jinx making her sacrifice in season 2, and we see ekko alone and mourns her death, even though a large majority of fans made a theory that jinx is still alive, and I believe she's not dead either, but I really don't think we'll see her again yet in the arcane universe. And I really wish we got the scene where ekko told jinx about the alternate universe, and prepared for the war between piltover and noxus. Now I'm hoping that timebomb gets developed more, hopefully jinx will make her return in the demacia tv show, but I'm certain she'll be revealed to still be alive in either season 2 or 3 of the demacia series.

There’s implications the AU Powder had an idea that Ekko came from an alt universe during the cute science montage. Powder saw a doodle in Ekko’s journal about him theorizing jumping into another AU’s body. The conversation on the roof from Ekko about giving up on Zaun and “Powder” also wouldn’t make any sense to Powder if she didn’t know or suspect he was from an alt universe, but her response wasn’t confusion, but encouragement.
I like to think AU Powder didn’t want Ekko to give up on his Powder/Jinx, so that’s why she told him she’s never known him to give up on anything.
I also like the impact Jinx and Ekko’s arrival had in the finale. I’ve read theories of people saying that would lose impact if we did see the scene of Ekko/Jinx talk about the alt universe or if we saw them prepping for battle. Think the discussion of the alt universe could’ve been kept and the actual entrance could’ve had the same impact, but not if we saw them don each other’s colors or the like with the war paint, but I love it gives shippers fanfic fuel to write about. It’s a lot of fun.
That makes it so much more tragic and as sad as I am about I’m here for that
Blue roses or the color blue is one of the only colors owls can see without issue, the owl is the mask Ekko has as his identity. Always see her clearly even when trying to ignore it
When he says “your inventions changed the world” it felt more like he was trying not to say too much, as if he hinted she did a lot of horrible things, it might give Powder the wrong idea, or bring back up how he’s been treating her for the X amount of time he’s been there. Like, it’s clear to a degree he admires how well she is at building these things in his timeline, which was prob the point of why he said it the way he did.
I felt like in addition to the lessons Ekko learned, AU Powder gave him something unspoken. It was something he didn't know he desperately needed. I wish he could have found a way to pass that gift on to Jinx, but that probably would have taken a whole extra season.

Ekko's ending is so tragic, that I do not think Jinx is dead,there are too many hints and foreshadowing in both realities that Jinx was going to leave so Vi can move on. Learning about the deleted scenes between Jinx & Ekko after Ekko saves her, and that he tells her that there is a good version of her. He brings her to his Tree Hideout and they begin to build and prepare to help Vi against the Noxians. There was supposed to be a paralleled romantic montage that mirrored the one Ekko had with Alternate Powder building and creating and the grow closer painting on each other nd Jinx getting a new Haircut yet still keeping a few things that were a part of Silco, His Glove and young Silco''s front bang that covers parts of his eye, which turned out to be Jinx iconic front hairstyle,Jinx just had it dyed.,blue & purple the last thing she kept of Silco's was Young Silco's bracelet in the flashback, Jinx ended up wearing it as a necklace. Despite burning down what was part of her past a and got rid of her iconic braids,she really wanted to take a part of her Dad with her. Anyhow after the Romantic montage between Jinx and Ekko and Rally the Undercity since Jinx was now seen as a Symbol because of Ekko she embraces it to get everyone on board to help. I think Jinx at that point told Ekko she had to leave after the fight. Whether she told him it is just for awhile or it was for the best it was for good that she needs to let him go and have him promise never to tell Vi she is still Alive. It could be either, regardless Ekko gets the Casablanca ending, meaning he has to Watch Jinx fly off to start a new life,build a new life as it were,fill her own cup since she was too smart to stay in that bar she burned down the rest of her life,she found the will to walk away. I would love to see those deleted scenes.The Arcane Artbook hints that if Jinx who is now genetically enhance thanks to Singed, which reminds me of Alice from those Resident Evil Movies, where she can take inhuman amount of damage,super fash,agile and stronger. Jinx is off to BilgeWater, Jinx wrote all over the Map in the book with a big Heart over Bilgewater with Pirates written underneath. Jinx is flying off to that area, Jinx is off to a new life,we will see her and Ekko again, says one of the creators,however when is unclear. I do think he knows Jinx is still Alive someone found out the name Ekko wrote on the paper he burned it turns out to be "Powder" not Jinx. So Timebomb is the best Ship can not wait to see them again.
honestly, i think that just like with jayce and viktor coming to terms together and fixing everything while sort of offing themselves in the process, it would diminish the weight of every choice if ekko got his perfect paradise in the current timeline. i do feel like yearning for that comes out of attachment to the characters, which is understandable, but it really diminishes narratively all that has happened up to that point.

I think Isha would want Jinx to keep living anyway. Next show is Noxus,as Jinx is on her way to BilgeWater, after learning the original ending of Season 1 ACT 1 it seems the most likely place Jinx is heading to. In the original ending to ACT 1 Vi says to Powder she never wants to see her again, Powder in total shock and heartbroken runs towards an Airship portm seeing an Airship just about to leave She jumps on the airship just in the nick of time,too heartbroken to fear the jump, Vi realizing she F'd up with her words starts running after her after she saw an Airship leaving, by the time Vi reached the Airship port she looks up at Powder who is now full of anger look at each other one last time, The Airship was heading to BilgeWater, Powder stays in BilgeWater until the Timeskip and returns with her pirate like torn pants.
But really ekko was the mvp of this season he gave up everything he ever wanted to fix what he already had and saved everybody while he was at it
also a beautiful symbolism is in the dancing scene its shot in 4 frames per second refering to ekko's ability to jump back in time for 4 seconds signaling that he wants to stay in that moment
I've seen many episodes where a character ends up in a reality with everything they everything they ever wanted, but this is by far the best, our characters have suffered so much that you desperately want them to get some happiness, but you know ekko isn't gonna stay, and because we've seen all they've been through, you know how painful is that decision for ekko

I just love how their both a force of nature in their right. Ekko is literally the only reason Silco didn't seize full control of the undercitty by putting a mokey wrench in his plans. Jinx is the best foil for him as she is just as unpredictable while matching his intelligence to make his life ever so harder.
At 6:57 you call the firelight people shimmer addicts but it’s more likely that the firelights are made up of the child labor force that silco had making shimmer. A lot of the firelights are really young if you look and are ravage by shimmer like we see with the people viktor later helps.

I used to be someone who was not into shipping at ALL (still not really into it), but Jinx x Ekko just captured my heart so unexpectedly. I didn't even really ship them in the first season but s2e7 and Ekko's character arc just broke my heart. not necesarily a rule, but you have only two paths, with certain variants among them. either hextech gets invented: it always is by viktor, or viktor + jayce, and it always ends in the end of the world EXCEPT when accounting for viktors attempts at giving jayce a different rune via his godly power. The second universe is were hextech doesn't get invented, vi being dead is one of the versions of said split.

Oh hi I'm a flower guy, and it's gonna hurt you even more. The water lily flower (and yes does come in blue and white varieties as well as elegant and floofy types hence why I'm assuming the necklace is a type of lily, because the symbolism of water lilies come up often in the show in tender moments but especially here) represents peace. I mean other stuff too like mental purity, childlike wonder and joy, and tranquility, but yeah, they're all some flavour of finding peace.
Fun fact, since not all who watch play Riot games but. After season one, in their card game-Legends of Runeterra, Ekko has a voice line where if he sees Jinx, he tells her how much he misses Powder.
as tired as i am of the multiverse trope i think episode 7 used it pretty well as Arcane's story definetly would not be the same if it didnt happen not only would Jinx have blown herself up Ekko also wouldnt have the CLUTCH and a half reverse device and Jayce wouldnt have blown his love's back out (in the bad way) in my opionion thats the best way to handle a multiverse by having it actually impact not just the story but the characters as well

Timebomb (at least the Arcane version) is proof that straightforward, uncomplicated relationships still have a place in fiction. I also disagree with the notion that we needed that Jinx and Ekko conversation, at least not in its entirety. Could've been a shorter, simpler talk. Something like:

Also if jinx gotta be with someone else, please let it be kayn because both of them are walking red flags on fire and whether they make each other worse or accidentally fix each other it's going to be glorious.
As a side note about what you said of Ekko and Powder "stealing bikes together", it was confirmed in the Jinx Fixes everything minigame that the two of them actually made that invention together, and Ekko has a line (I think in the arcane event in Wild Rift?) where he said that Powder was the only one he ever allowed to ride it with him.
It's heartbreaking how he cant get his eye off his father figure the first time he saw him again. It's like he saw a ghost. Bet when he left the au, his father figure is one of the only people he is struggling to totally let go. He had longed to see benzo's proud face everyday but he knows well that he aint his benzo and had to accept that his benzo is not with him anymore

From someone that use to play league and hated both Ekko and Jinx in game, for me to come out and say now that I love Time bomb just goes to show how well tragically written these two were.
Ekko is not the Boy of Savior. He's the Man of Savior. He's the only character who is insanely sane when everybody becomes insane. Although he is tragic like everyone else, his adoptive father got killed, his friend died, his crush became insane and killed his friend, and his hometown became drug heaven.
The art style in the dance scene is usually used when a character is in a dream or hallucinating. That is Ekko's vision. He stays sane, knows that this timeline isn't his, and he has to leave. And I don't need to explain to you how much willpower needed to stays sane in the multiverse. He's a Gigachad
The tragedy of it all is how young both characters are and that they only really got to act their age and be happy in the alternate timeline. Also that episode was great simply because of the contrast between Ekko and Jayce’s journey between worlds.
Arcane's Ghostflower equivalent
