European here. Back in the day we couldn't wait to get the next dlc for DA:Origins but now I feel I just can't keep far away enough from this abomination and I haven't even bought it.
I called it sometime ago they were lying about their numbers.
Game companies have saved me SOOOO much money by giving me more and more reasons to not buy their games.
Guess the modern audience didnt like it either 😅
It never existed in the first place
If everyone was a gamer, I don't think wokism would have had a chance to get its roots so deep everywhere. Gamers, for the most part, seem to reject the religion of wokism. Veilguard is a prime example.
Also:
Merry Christmas Hyponotic and all fellow gamers!
Do gamers reject wokism because they are gamers, or are people who reject wokism more likely to become gamers than people who embrace it?
I like to think some part of it might come from gamers who have played a multiplayer game and quickly realised that being offended by literally anything is only going to make you play worse.
Man it hurts when it’s a studio like BioWare who used to make such great games and I held in such high esteem. I know video games are just a hobby but it pisses me off thinking about this game.
Same. I'm from Canada, and before EA bought them, Bioware was something we had to be proud about.
@@greggeiger7532 it's been that way for awhile now. way back when ME 3 released in its original state the writing was on the walls. they haven't been about customers or quality for a hot minute. least back then they cared enough to fix it and admit they were wrong. it just sucks more because they had some hard core gaming candy on their roster.
If you don't get mad or annoyed when people mess with your hobby, is it even a hobby? I think you're fully justified to feel hurt.
Telling investors to pay to see the numbers is a trap. Video game player sales matter for video games. Corporate sales are nothing.
I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again. Never forget that YOU the customer have all the power. They have none. If you don’t want it reject it. There’s nothing they can do.
merry Christmas hypno! 2025 going to be lit
Here, Here and the party should get started with Ubisoft declaring bankruptcy. Ubisoft falls the other companies will take notice and pull up PDQ. EA will probably lead that charge and start to realize that they are killing their own company and clean house to stop the cancer.
its look like many people identify themselves as "nonbuynary"
DAO and DAI sold better this year than The Veilguard. And they are like.... at least 10 years old. That says a lot. 😅
I live in Europe. Glad I did my part by skipping this game. Bought Stalker 2 instead and having a blast.
And here I was thinking EA really likes money. Guess I stand corrected 🤣
Let's not forget that the Dragon Age series, and Bioware on the whole, have been woke for more than a decade. This is nothing new for them.
Doesn't explain the terrible writing change from inquisition to veilguard
@@dranzerjetli5126 intentional cultural attack
For me the problem is not the "woke" . Is the fact that they cannot write if their life depends on it . The dialogue in this game is utter garbage , boring , cringe inducing , uninspired .
@@fatetwisted3887 Wokeness and general craptitude tend to coincide
@@fatetwisted3887 I fully agree with the sentiment. In the end product, a whole bunch of woke stuff can be added, and it would hardly matter if the rest of the game is fantastic.
However, you have to remember that they didn't just decide to add Woke to the game; they reallocated time and resources away from making the rest of the game good to instead adding the Woke crap.
If they want it to burn then let it burn!
I bought Sekiro Shadows today on Steam. They have sales going on and I noticed the Failguard on sale for 38 bucks. I laughed.. There is actually 9500 in the game right now which surprises me.
9500 - 50% when they get to the pronouns cutscene 🤣
FailGuard...Go Woke Go Broke...
Hey Europe here (Germany)!
I proudly participated in not buying the Game!
😁😁😁
Richtig so
"This game has it' s heart in the left place and despises gamers. 10/10!"
And yet the guy who directed Veilguard is still employed. They need to fire his ass for failing so spectacularly
GTA 5 sold more copies than Star Wars and Dragon Age in Europe.
And even that is just ported as much as Street Fighter II.
Veilguard sold terrible, but yet it made game of year at time magazine? I smell BS people.
P.S. Merry Christmas everyone.
They are racing downwards and still wouldn't stop even after they went past h311 and australia
I could've overlook many thing thay made the game bad. But the moment they said the game won't be including the tapestry i was tapped out. Tbat showed me that the team is incompetent or lazy or both. And cant implement all the choices from the previous games. Eacb of the characters i played had a journey and it's not important enough to acknowledge. They deserve their modern audience, all 7 of them.
It's sad. A lot of money was spent to make another Dragon Age and it could of been a fun game.
But they decided to make a therapy session instead.
The historical loss from these games pushing the woke BS should be a clear message to companies. Makes fun games, not politics or go out of business.
"they" try to argue that games have always had messages, and these messages are no different. Except they are.
Theyve been attempting social engineering experiments for the past decade. Seems the past couple years though, gamers are finally starting to have had enough.
Had enough with the forced political messaging, pandering to a fringe minority, hating on the fans who actually care about and want these games to succeed, and had enough with lower quality with heightened pricing, on top of subscriptions and micro transactions, the lies, the bans,
Gamers have had it.
It's about damn time.
Best Xmas news!!!!
They coasted off the dragonage name alone and betrayed everyone's trust in the series. It is unlikely there will be another dragon age after this one.
SteamDB Charts show a very fast decline since its release
I'm waiting for the day in which this info becomes so irrelevant no one will care anymore and we can move on to new and more exciting stuff..
gaming industry is so dead, and the more dead we can make it the better... our hope is with the good independent creators
Merry xmas Hypnotic love your work man.
We Europeans are still based, cheers
Cheers 🍻
Just like how Corrine failed to become a woman, this failed to pass off as a Dragon Age game 😂
Grummz said "to NOT buy AAA titles THAT DO THIS.", i.e., woke stuff... he didn't say all AAA games...
Marky Mark Kern is another terminally online guy who should really just focus on his video game project.
Can we have a new award? The anti-marketing campaign award for the dev/producer that chases away the most potential customers? :)
When Game Journalists gets free codes and dictates which game gets high praise, if it doesnt appeal to their gender ideology or identity politics or political correctness it will mostly get a low scores. Any games with all those things with DEI trans and inclusivity it gets 9/10 like Veilguard. Trusting journalists who dont like gamers
The videogame crash happened because Atari was pumping out bad games that had nothing but reviews on magazines.
With the Internet being so readily available to everyone and gameplay being 3 clicks away no one is wasting their money anymore on bad/uninteresting games.
A lot of gamers identified themselves as non-buy-nary
Veilguard might not even cross 10 million sales in its entire lifetime sales.
These clowns wont learn until the company goes under and everyone is unemployed. Woke content and creators should ALWAYS go broke. People are tired of the weirdness & “message”
Another European here. Yea, I was never gonna interesting into garbage. Glad its slowly taking itself out.
And yet it got multiple game of the year nominations. What a joke of a game.
When the majority of your customers have been asking for a juicy steak, you give them a juicy steam not a soy latte and vegan salad while talking down at them. Any sane person would choose to cater to the majority who actually buys their products but these people continue to chase off the majority while searching for the mythical modern audience. I will not be surprised if BioWare is already in queue for the chopping block like Ubisoft. Also, it is clear that the games interest overlap between the mythical modern audience versus the rest is extremely low judging from the recent failures. Honestly, companies who are planning on releasing games aimed towards the mythical modern audience better be doing some serious introspection if they want to stay in the business.
Capitalism will be served cold.
OMG!
Even as DEI failures go,Veil guard is the worst!🤣
Grummz didn't say to not buy all AAA games. He said don't buy games "that do this," referring to the woke shit.
Uma hora, as empresas, entenderão que nós queremos, apenas, sentar, jogar e se divertir, sem essas coisinhas, que eles insistem em inserir nos jogos. Merry xmas! 🍻
Europe didn’t want to buy the Californian Fantasy
It's so much FUN, to NOT buy this stuff for a single cent! 🤣
if they had made a new dragon age game that was similar to Origins or maybe a bit like Inquisition with none of the politics of failguard it would have sold really well. Anyone doubting this is just straight up out of touch with how the gaming industry works
I really loved the DA series and was extremely bummed out when I saw the final product. I was planning to play it this christmas holiday. The good thing though since I still had an rpg craving and wanted something to play this winter, I instead got Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader. OMG the fact that I have missed this game all these years, so damn GOOD! And I don't think I'll even have time to remotly finish a first playthrough before work starts again.
Wow, I had no idea how many people identified as Non-buy-nary!
At this point I almost feel bad for this terrible game, I want to show mercy and let it peacefully fade away.
Mod can't even save it. even mods let us find a more satisfying way to deal with Preston in fallout 4. If you didn't like the dude, by the power of mod!....well not only the raiders have to die in the museum. And thus you don't hear "another settlement needs your help!"....ever again.
*You don't have to give money to people who despise you*
I play Dragon Age to fight dragons and demons n shit. Not get lectured on gender politics.
Merry Xmas Hypno!
Glad we did our part voting with our wallets. Hopefully the industry opens their eyes.
Don't forget that we don't have as much RUclipsrs fighting and warning us about WOKE/DEI crap in Europe as USA, the numbers of sales would have been lower otherwise...
No way... This TIME's magazine 2024 Game of the Year was a failure and did not sell well? "shocked Pikachu face"
The thing is, they can see that game sales are down, they can see WHICH games did and didn’t sell; but their brains cannot figure out WHY they’re not selling
I would like to see some actual numbers.
