OMG! The reference to the Top 4 of season 10 and the Randy Jackson vs. Haley Reinhart feud totally made my night. Kudos, Michael.
Great analysis this week. Nailed all the talking points that I wanted to see and more in an entertaining manner. Also those Hollie "perfect" clips had me laughing.

PS. Voted almost straight for 4 hours for Candice.. imho, she is truly the deserved winner, the most talented artist & vocalist this season..

My Ideal Judges:
1. Keith Urban (you gotta have that nice girl/guy on the panel).
2. Harry Connick Jr. (extremely knowledgeable and will challenge the contestants)
3. Pink (brutal honesty without being malicious)
4. A Legend (unfortunately MC didn't work out but you need someone on the panel with decades of experience. Someone like Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Elton John, etc...) or A Former Successful Contestant (specifically Adam Lambert)
Okay, this reminded me that Melinda went home at Top 3 week(which is why she was reacting how she was in the video lol)
hmmm...Melinda Doolittle, Michael Slezak, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. four judges...YES!!!!
A lot of great singers went home during Top 3 week.. Melinda Doolittle, Elliott Yamin, Joshua Ledet, and Angie Miller..
As for new judges, I would love to see any of the following with real experience and right to judge.. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift will make the show fresh along with a legendary composer like Richard Carpenter, Dianne Warren or Barry Manilow..
Candice Glover is AMAZING.
But honestly, except for the select few in seasons 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9...and I'm talking 5 or 3 singers who could actually knock it out the park...there weren't many GREAT singers in AI's history. Even the first season had it's duds with only Kelly Clarkson and Tamara Grey being the exception to that rule but it's nice to know people have selective memories.
My only problem this season was Lazaro and the song selections. Other than that, everything was the same!
It was evident they didn't necessarily want to say or believe what they wanted to say, but I'm sure they expected Kree to be going home because of the momentum Angie seemed to be having.

Candice was the best hands down. She has the best voice and is a true artist. She earned a spot in the finale with her performances of Somewhere and Next to me. Angie should have gotten the other spot. She did a great job on her first two performances.
I'd give Mariah and Keith another season. And add Harry Connick, Jr. and Kelly Clarkson to the table. Kelly and Mariah would definitely get along! We saw that on the show.

Since all the judges are getting axed there's no chance Keith will be saved, so I think next year's panel should be:
1) Harry Connick Jr.
2) Adam Lambert
3) Shania Twain?
Basically I think they should go back to only 3 judges and the female should be someone respectable with a lot of experience but doesn't necessarily have to be the "diva." It didn't work when they brought Britney on X Factor and it didn't work with Mariah.

Michael you are so right about giving them freedom to do what they to best, and let the chips fall where they may. The songs they had them singing were ridiculous.
I love these video Collabs with Michael and Melinda!! M&M!! LOL!! Well, someone had to go home to have the final two! The top 3 are so AMAZING!! So they are ALL going to BE STARS!!
The Producer's gave Candice the finale on a Broadway-West-Side-Story platter. That said, she totally killed the song, albeit there were a couple pitch issues. She did sound a bit shouty sometimes.
Why can't we get good ole Jimmy at the panel? In the end, he runs the label & he should know what they need to do make it through. Mariah seemed like she was bored and just wanted to leave; I expected her to give a really expert opinion of their voices & performances since she kinda mastered the art herself.
Another idea is that the winner of the current season should judge the next season & the winner of that season should judge the season after that, etc.
I think that would be REALLY awesome

OMFG candice singing bound to you would have been THE moment of the season. christina SLAYED tht in burlesque (when i first saw the movie i prop played tht scene about 10 times) and if you thought the audience went crazy after lovesong, tht would've been nothing compared to the ovation she would've gotten had she sang bound to you.
Yeah, this could have being a better top 3 show if they let the contestants have at least one round with songs they are confortable with, but it wasnt bad taking in count how tired they were.

If you look at the full journey of Angie she's the best. And look at the reactions of all her fans. Something's. wrong.
I really feel for Angie. Though not a fan, she was probably the other person deserving of the finale rather than Kree (though I love Kree too). I felt that the judges pushed too much on the whole "Angie + piano" and I feel that Angie herself didn't just want to be a piano artist and wanted to show other sides for me.
As for the panel, I want Nicki and Mariah gone, more so Nicki. She was a mistake to ever be on the panel from the get-go.

if they're disappointed that angie didn't get through (AS AM I. I AM BEYOND DISAPPOINTED. I AM DISTRAUGHT. AND IM STILL NOT OVER IT), who did they want to go home?
It's sad now, I don't want Kree to do her original song now because everyone is adamant in believing that she somehow gained momentum off her going home video.
I couldn't disagree more. You really don't collect new fans in the top 3 and at that point when there's 3 left it's generally like an elephant in the room who's most likely to be going home based on their momentum through the show.
I just think I goes to show that Kree simply has more fans than Angie.

MC "didn't work out?" Please bear in mind that among the judges ONLY Mariah Carey put Candice Glover on her Top 3 when other judges counted Candice out. Mariah knows a real singer when she hears one. And Mariah's right, Candice won! And by that, Mariah was the best judge on the panel.
Though it was heartbreaking to watch Angie not make it to the finale, we do have to remember that QUEEN Haley Reinhart got third place too :D

As for judges I would love to see like Carrie underwood or Kelly Carlson someone who was successful off of the show.

Yes, MC was right about Candice and provided some great insight to the contestants but overall, she just didn't work out to me. For one, she was too long-winded. Two, her feud with Nicki Minaj was just messy. It wasn't a good look for her or the show. And she was too nice. If anyone had the clout to give some honest feedback, its Mariah Carey. And she didn't that enough.

It is unreasonable to think that angie miller is not more talented and MARKETABLE than the final four girls. In the end it became a popularity contest with the voting system. Lets see who of these girls gets to the Grammys first. To me that will determine who truly won this contest. Angela Miller.
