A Serene WALK Through an OLD English Village - Ogbourne St. George, ENGLAND

- Walk with me in this beautiful English countryside village. Thatched roof cottages, and sheep and bird sounds make this a perfect setting for an early morning walk.
In the late 13th century there may have been no more than a farmstead and offices at Ogbourne St. George.
The population had risen from 406 in 1801 to 593 by 1851 but declined, with some fluctuations, to 435 in 1931.
Victorian era maps of Ogbourne St.George show many wells in the area, so that villagers had a dependable water supply all year round
By will dated 1782 William Wooldridge gave £50 to buy bread for the poor. In 1786 another £66 given by various donors was held in trust for the poor of the parish. In 1795 only £35 of it remained.
The Church of England parish church of Saint George is also Grade II* listed and may be Norman in origin
In 1294, when the manor of Ogbourne St. George was valued at £82

Beautiful countryside in Wiltshire Kevin. Love seeing the daffodils in bloom. Looking forward to seeing the roses this summer in these English villages you go through. LOL... that one shrubbery looked like a teddy bear, ❤ The homes and gardens are so beautiful and well cared for. I so do like the time of day you take your walks. In the early morning hours it is so quite and peaceful with just birds up and chirping. At first, I thought that horse you walked up to was stuck, then I saw the poor baby was just looking for some loving. Love the history that is the Church yards . Thanks Kevin!

I loved all of the animals, and so did Nelly (my Border Terrier). Thank you! At 28:00 there's a burl (burr) on the tree in the cemetery that made me smile. It looks like a gargoyle head or the face of one of the Pig-Humans from the series Grimm. (haha). Because it's a cemetery, I'll suggest the gargoyle as they're seen on churches on occasion anyway. Loved it.
It was wonderful to see all the spring flowers, and hear all the birds. I almost felt I was there with you!

I always enjoy your lovely, peaceful walks, especially seeing the beautiful old English churches. So lovely to see the flowers. I've lived in Australia for 63 years and I still miss the bluebells and primroses.

Nossa,como a população é baixa! Trabalho em uma escola que só no período da tarde tem 800 crianças 😂. No período da manhã tem aproximadamente 700 crianças. Um horário de recreio aqui tem mais gente do que na cidade toda. É um lugar encantador! Parabéns pelo vídeo!
