If you're a girl, Uranus
If you're a boy, Saturn

These planets are lucky they were named after gods and goddesses. Planets outside our solar system get named with random letters and numbers
This comment will become gold after some time !
Eris, Sedna, Pluto, Haumea and Makemake are named after gods/goddesses are they not?
Even their moons are named after deities. Charon, Dysnomia etc
Ur anus
True

*How Planets Got Their Names*
(THE PLANETS THAT AREN'T IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM)
Scientist: "Let's Name this Planet! WHAT SHOULD WE NAME IT?🤔 "
*Tells the other Scientist to Name it*
Other Scientist: *Smashes his hands around ths keyboard*
"Is this ok?"
Scientist: "That's Brilliant!"
I would only add the nuance that Enki or Ea was also Saturn, and maybe later his roles were partially assigned to Ninurta by the TELEPHONE GAME mechanism.
In the Astroid Belt, Ceres was also named after Roman Gods, the God of Harvest. Ceres was considered a planet, before the discovery of Pluto.
I had no idea they were actually given Greek names at one point. I sometimes for fun just theorized what the planets would be named if they used another culture's gods, and they were exactly what i came up with: hermes, aphrodite, gaia/terra, ares, zeus, and cronos. too bad neptune and pluto hadn't been discovered yet. They'd be poseidon and hades.
Well, in Greece we still use the greek names and not the english ones
The important question here is WHY ancient cultures so obsessed with gods (we call them planets) if they were little spots in the sky???????????
As much as I don't know how it is possible for the sun and moon to move on their own uncontrollably, the sun to rise and the moon to set when it gets daytime and vice versa when it gets nighttime, I also don't know how any of the celestial bodies like planets and stars were made by starting to exist in the universe in the first place, or how they all got names.
5:03 I have that poster on my wall.
I always like Unveiled vids even before watching because they never disappoint 😹
We are so small, but a spect,i still can’t wrap my mind that our sun is a SPEC,compared toward other suns
Another word for Earth is Tellus, which he forgot to tell us. 😏
Intelligent beings on mars call earth "um that one over there"
terra would have be a great name for earth.. but i wil stick to earth becouse thats the one i know and love. thanks for the vid. great stuff!
I like the names of these planets better beats the heck out of the names we name planets now.
This took me back to the bad memories of early world literature
I like to study Greek/Roman mythology and I didn't know the planets have got their name because of them
🌎🌏🌍
i ain da only star wars nerd dat heard dey called mercury naboo😭✋🏽.
Very interesting but it goes back much farther. Check the Australian aborigines or the Dogon tribe of Africa
Uranus and Neptune are mostly ice right, is this ice hard enough to step on
That's why they're called the ice giant planetary twins.
Not exactly. Its not ice as you imagine it to be. They are made out of frozen gasses which means that they dont have a solid surface, but somewhat of a liquid one, although it is hard to explain
From the hindi translation of the name of days in a week.
Mythology...that's all we had then
And now!
Wtf so less views where all 😨😨😨
Ahan know
Wut
Indians named da planets centuries ago
Frist
You sure are.
Why do people care so much about being first
It's was the gods name
