NEGLECTED Skoda Octavia VRS DEEP CLEANED after sitting for YEARS! - FULL DETAILING TRANSFORMATION!

  • In this video this Skoda Octavia VRS Mk1 gets a thorough deep clean, satisfying snow-foam, decontamination, extraction, Machine compound & polish and protection, its absolutely filthy! This car was in a revival series I did previously, it sat for many years before being revived, and this disaster detail was the final step. I start with a citrus pre-wash solution, and then pre-wash, spray wheels with wheel cleaner/degreaser and Fallout remover, spray engine bay down with degreaser, agitate and wash off, snow-foam whole car, clay exterior, apply tar and glue remover. Machine polish for the exterior, interior is vacuumed, fabric parts extracted, leather parts cleaned and conditioned, plastic and trims are cleaned and dressed. Layer of sealant applied, tyre gel and exterior trim dressings applied, then finally, the windows are cleaned.

Loove the work being done on this car. Car's very close to my heart and it'd be a shame if it went to the wreckers.. Also, have you thought about buying the original floor mats? they'd make the interior look perfectly OEM.
Some tips: get a steam cleaner, helps tremendously with cleaning the door arches and speeds up the interior cleaning process a whole lot. A cheap karcher steamer does the job well. Also, i agree that APCs don't really do well for leather long-term, but they leave the leather really clean and degreased in a sense, ready for a proper layer of protection. The best conditioner for leather seats i can recommend would be beewax (they are usually marketed for leather sofas), they almost rejuvenate the leather and keep it perfect for a lot longer than synthetic dressings. Mate uses it on his leather interior in his extremely clean e36 (/watch?v=w8jkws7hx-Q) and the original leather is just perfect.
Also i would suggest a wide angle lens for smartphones, doesn't look the best but it improves the angle in small filming areas.. Though for my old iphone, it covered the microphone that was right next to the camera and the audio sounded bad, so i bought a Boya BY-MM1 microphone which really isn't bad at all for 20 quid.
Keep up the great work, your channel is going on a steady growing route! Cheers from Czechia.

Thank you! I did look at getting some original floormats but I couldn't find any in nice condition for sale when I was looking so went for some aftermarket ones that I'm happy with, thanks for the tips! I have been looking at getting a steam cleaner recently, I'll check out the beewax and the smart phone lens too, appreciate your support!

Loved the part 1 and part 2. Great to watch. The transformation in part 3 is fantastic. Hopefully you’ve still got the car as it’s definitely a future classic. I have one also, six months older than yours. Mine was registered in March 2002. Only done 96,800 miles and it’s getting tired. Little bits keep going wrong. As of writing this I put a new alternator on yesterday. Underneath has a bit of rust in places, plus last week a door lock played up and having thought it was just microswitch in the door , however it was wiring broken. The drivers door wiring set me back 151 quid as i couldn’t find it other than genuine part. I need new shocks and top strut mounts, which hopefully I’ll get done later this year. I have Ross tech vcds and I notice sometimes a flat spot when driving and fault code reads air leak between dump valve and turbo. Not sure what this is though. Anyway all good. Great videos 👍👌

I'm glad you enjoyed the videos! I still have the car, it's currently what my dad is daily driving as his van and car need repairs. I definitely think they will be a classic in future too. Wow the door wiring is pricey, at least it's available though. Hopefully you won't have much to do to it after you've fixed the bits! The passenger rear door on mine has stuck in the locked position so I've got to try and sort that soon haha. Thank you for the support, I appreciate it!

    • @GGoblin1

These cars are notorious for failed door locks. I remember reading somewhere that the solenoids in them go bad.
Other than that though, these are solid cars. I've owned a few of these (all of them 1.9 TDI diesel) and they are very reliable. I had one (a top of the line L&K) that was nearing 200,000 KM and still ran like a clock and that delivered around 24-25 kmpl (around 60 MPG) on the highway.
The boot is enormous - and can haul whatever you need.
Great cars - sad they don't make cars like these anymore.

What is the dual action you use, and what is the exterior plastic dressing you use as well? And finally, what sealant do you use? Have one of these myself that's been sat with mouldy seats so not looking forward to that! Thanks for the great vid and sorry for all the questions

Thank you! I used bissels own carpet cleaning fluid, but it wasn't the best, it worked but I wouldn't go out and buy it again, I've recently purchased autosmarts brisk after some recommendations from friends but haven't gotten round to using it yet. The polisher I use is a Das6 Pro plus, it's a good machine and costs £170ish, I normally pair it with hex logic pads and I use various different polishing/cutting compounds depending on the car, I think I used chemical guys VSS on this as a single stage polish, the exterior plastic dressing was autofinesse revive, and the sealant I used here I probably wouldn't recommend, and unfortunately I don't have one to recommend if I'm honest, I've been trying out quite a few different ones but haven't really liked any of them. Good luck with yours, hope it goes well!

And on this car i used a lot of different carpet cleaners haha, the main one I used was bissells own wash deep cleaning fluid, that's what I was spraying on most of it, it's decent but I'm looking to try something else as it does struggle with really dirty stuff.
